Quoted from "samsara" The OPP Lowe is retired - I don`t think Faucett will come back ( at least she should not) Karsta Lowe is retired?? wtf ? she's just 24 now and she will be only 27 in 2020.

Quoted from "sitenoise" I'm catching up on some China matches and the surprise for me is XINYUE YUAN. She looks quicker, more savvy, and just generally more coordinated than she did in Rio, like she's finally grown comfortable in that big body. Who else can score a set point with their face. That was hilarious in the USA match (set 3). As was Li Lin's point but the US libero gave her that one. Indeed, YUAN was the best scorer in this match from the Chinese side. Not bad for a MB.

Quoted from "samsara" Having said this I remain unmoved to prefer Lang Ping being at court for the team than An at any given time!! Lang is just too good for An to ever supplant. Next generation at its duly time, but just not An. Regardless the bumpy roads here, my support will remain be firm with the Chinese team ever! An JiaJie probably is a reliable assistant coach and he can teach players some specific technics or tactics. But I don't think he has the spirit and the vision of a head coach. ...

Just watched the Serb vs Bra match. Zé Roberto is very passioned and he's always very serious in each match. This guy probably has only two options in his life, coaching volleyball or die. Probably the only coach can rival his passion is Karpol the howling bear.

Ok I need to ask. How come two teams play against each other two times, but both team will play against with other teams only once?

I also like Liu Xiatong, I was just curious when I ask why Liu was used intensively. Because it's very rare a Chinese NT player with 30 yrs of age in a Olympic Games. Since she will be 30 in the Tokyo2020, I was just wondering why the Chinese NT still invest so much at her. Honestly, I will be happy for her if she can get the ticket for the Tokyo2020. This means the Chinese NT players had finally broke the over 30 yrs old barrier.

Quoted from "sitenoise" Speaking of veterans, I gotta say ... Xia Ding is killing me. That girl's got some attitude. I'm loving her to death. I'd love to watch this CHN v RUS game with one of those fancam deals on her like they do for K-Pop groups where there's a close-up camera trained on just one player. Agree for Ding Xia. Her acrobatic digs and her spikes (unusual for a setter) are fun to watch.

I notice the Chinese NT use Liu Xiotong a lots (Montreux and WGP). She's 27 now and she will be 30 in 2020. I'm not criticizing the Chinese NT or saying Liu is too "old". I'm just curious about the Chinese NT strategy.

Quoted from "sitenoise" How are you folks watching replays? My Hola VPN with Chrome doesn't work, even for replaying a match I just watched live. And that unblockyoutube site someone posted only works on my iPad, won't work on my laptop. I'm going to hunt down and punish these FIVB people if they don't make these games available for the world to see. And by 'the world', I really mean 'me', with my own sense of entitlement, but I do hope others are able to enjoy! Try Opera. You can activate a bu...

Quoted from "samsara" If one gets used to see a coach at a caliber of Lang Ping, it's naturally hard to see any one else in her shoes there's always some feeling of doubt... me too. Only time may tell whether such doubt is justifiable or not. I wish An a successful endeavor, and this WGP series can possibly be his very first real test... but personally I won't blame him if the team uses this event to test some new or less settled players thus results in less bright outcome. It should be a holis...
