Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "MariaOzawaFan" Andie Malloy to VFB Suhl http://1.bundesliga.vfb-suhl.de/andie-ma…senangreiferin/ Laurianne Delabarre will leave Suhl http://1.bundesliga.vfb-suhl.de/veraende…suhler-zuspiel/ This means, they are missing "just" two setters... I don't think, that they will hire one more attacker (formally a second opposite would be an option).

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Bad news for German NT: despite winning against Peru and getting place 2 in group 2 behind South Korea, the hosts Czech republic are set to one and so they play in semi against third Poland, and Germany faces Kim Yeon-Koung and her group in the semis, the only team they lost to in the group phase. As you know, on good days Kim can beat them alone... when they don't play on their limit they have no chance, I think.

So far I remember, Belgium was in the extra four teams challenger addition to this competition successor World League (Women), defined by FIVB (12+4 = 16 teams in total).

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

This was a show of power and superiority by Serbia - they were better in attack and serve than China and managed to make even one error less as them. With this performance Serbia is both a (the?) top favorite for World Grand Prix final in Nanjing and in European Championships in early autumn... I guess, playing like that they would wipe off German NT in just about an hour for example...

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Quite remarkable: both teams Serbia and China with top line up playing, despite both are already qualified. They are rather serious about this match for some reason (revanche for Rio final?).

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Matthias" Dresden close their OH department with Marrit Jasper That must be the weakest set of OHs they've ever had: Hodanova coming back from injury in unknown shape, Strumilo being stuck in the "talent-status" for the time being, Schwabe being ok within her limits and Jasper being mainly a server and defender but certainly not an attacker for a team that wants to play for titles Yes, in light of rosters of the main rivals I don't see, how Dresden will get past Schwerin or Stuttga...

Suhl: the Wolfsgrube (re-)construction works are delayed because of differences between city and company executing it regarding the working construction, even juristical. That is the reason, why there is a delay of yet unknown duration.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Due to a new article in Südthüringer newspaper there are four options checked by Suhl now: a big room in city congress hall, a big temporary marquee on a big square in the city or rule conforming halls in Coburg (Bavaria, but nearby) or Efurt (!). So while the situation isn't hopeless, it is rather difficult now and will enforce systematic deviations in playing schedule after the publishing of the planned one.

Quoted from "Matthias" Trouble for Suhl once again: their hall which is being renovated and has the ceiling lifted won't be finished until the start of the season and actually might not be finished throughout the season at all. Current plan is to have it finished by the end of the year but it's uncertain. So Suhl has to look for another hall for next season And Southern Thuringia (Südthüringen) is a true countryside, where Suhl is the biggest city at all, not being really big at all. Therefore ...

At least German NT wins in Bulgaria against hosts the third set, i.e. 1:2 against them. Results matter, it doesn't make sense, to remember better times, when they were twice in a row vice European champions... Let us hope, they can improve in the years coming.

Regarding hall in Ankara: that is Baskent hall, used for international competitions, key matches in Turkish league and likely also Ankara based teams. There are just three big halls used for volleyball in Turkey: in Istanbul it is Burhan-Felek, in Izmir Atatürk and that Baskent in Ankara.

player numbers of current teams

After there was a question, how many players will be in the rosters, I present a non-official list per team, how many they had last season, how many have contracts at the moment and what is there supposed player number for this season - a number, which can easily change. And especially the federal academy teams (i.e. Dresden, Stuttgart, Schwerin) tend to list some more of those junior players primarily for European cups, where limits are higher as in the leagues. And sometimes players are finish...

Quoted from "Visitor" Ioana Baciu (Opp) from Ladies in Black Aachen to CSM Bukarest https://www.agerpres.ro/sport/2017/07/07…uresti-11-49-25 That's personally a step forward for her, because CSM Bukarest is definitely a considerably stronger team than Aachen and Romanian A1 has generally a good level.

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Quoted from "rbdfabio" Plus, I still don`t get why a lot of people over here underestimate the Chinese ( and sometimes the Brazilians) players so much. If the Chinese players were so weak as some of you guys think....and if the Europeans were so much stronger, would be easy for any of the European Teams to beat them. I`m all for the underdogs. and I`m always rooting for Europeans Teams, but the European Volleyball is so so far behind from the Americas and Asia. Europeans in general ( besides Ru...

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Quoted from "Matthias" Korea is not prepared for Hanke's 2nd balls at all. It's much easier for her to score today than in German league But in the end our German NT with too many greenhorns playing couldn't manage things right. Especially in serve and unforced errors the experienced Korean team was better, and with their "Queen" Kim Yeon-Koung they have the most expensive volleyball club player of the world, always capable to decide a match.

Sorry, I searched wrongly for her Finnish name and didn't found therefore in last years rosters, and the original message also didn't mention she was in Münster before. It is not always easy to keep track of all of those players... but the forum can correct mistakes.
