FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

Glad to see combination plays still thriving on this level of men's volleyball. It's funny to think this chinese team is actually much faster than their seniorplayers in the national team.

Turkey's opposite seems bothered with China's #15. or he's just not used to the block?

I'm impressed... the new rules didn't turn out bad and made an exciting first set for Turkey and China.

Men's European Championship 2017

Even if it will pay divedends in the future. Muzaj proved to be causing more errors than points. Any rational coach should do what is must and just give time for young players to adjust in the higher level. I'm more worried with Poland's setter. Obviously... Lomacz should be starting but he needs a better back up than Drzyzga.

FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

Games start tomorrow. Brazil boosted their lineup with Rodrigo Leao and Douglas Souza. No surprise as they were already pulled out from the second day Brazil-USA friendly match.

2017 AVC Senior Women's Championship (Philippines/Manila, Aug 9-17, 2017)

Yeah hopefully those fantards from Philippines stop talking about low fast sets as if that's going to magically make Philippines the best volleyball nation in the world or even Asia. That was so cringy seeing that term blow up on twitter. Those people probably have no idea how to run volleyball plays yet are giving armchair analysis on how to win against a top 20 team in the world. Do these people know how hard it is to run shoot sets with an imperfect pass while being up against a strong block?...

Brazilian NT 2017

Quoted from "voleysinfrontera" i really don't know what people see in Gabi... I particularly see her as a second libero...more like a Brazilian Bosetti... nothing else.... She scores a lot for a second libero. I don't even know what's wrong if you're a spiker playing like a libero. That's like a big advantage for any team.

Friendly matches

That Russia-France match didn't look competitive at all to me after Russia pulled out Mikhailov,Volkov, Volvich. Butko did amazing though. Zhigalov was only good with the serve and frankly limited Butko's options when he cannot kill at all.

Italian NT 2017

Candellaro was a disaster during the World League. He practically lost his starting position because he wasn't connecting and got lost during the plays physically and mentally. Vettori is pribably a Trentino thing. Maybe politics was involved so Giannelli and Vettori can be connecting better during the club season.

2017 AVC Senior Women's Championship (Philippines/Manila, Aug 9-17, 2017)

Quoted from "sitenoise" Quoted from "joy16" Below is the schedule from AVC website in Philippines time (GMT +. http://asianvolleyball.net/smm-2017-asia…l-championship/ I went to that http://asianvolleyball.net site and clicked on Competitions link and it showed me 2016 stuff, so i figured they weren't updating the site any more and wrote them off. I need to get better at using this internet web thing. Don't like to visit that site. It seems the security is so bad and antique that my antivirus i...

Men's Club World Championship 2017

Last year, South America underservingly sent 4 teams to the Club Championship with Europe only sending in two despite being the stronger volleyball continent. Plus I really doubt the biggest European clubs are weaker than Taubate and SESI. And I feel having more european teams preferably italian teams can make this tournament a lot interesting since they have better amd willing sponsors than in Superliga.

Japanese NT 2017

Setters have the most volatile position as always so it is usually the one that gets replaced by someone else. Japan has a lot of good setters too so the competition has been really tight for Miyashita. All she can do now is improve her game to catch up to Sato and Tominaga. She's still young and the olympics is still far away. I really love the balamce berween Sato and Tominaga. Like Yin Yang. Both are extremes of the other. Could help make Japan more unpredictable than they were before.

Must have been tricked by her delayed setting/fake attack. She's really good at that which probably confused my brain on her laterality.

Japanese NT 2017

Quoted from "sitenoise" I'm re-watching the first JPN v THA match just because ... There's a play at 6-4 in the third set where Tominaga, the setter, is in the front row and after a couple volleys receives a soft shot; she passes it to Inoue, the libero, who sets it right back to Tominaga who spikes it. I don't know if that happens more and I haven't noticed it, but it didn't look like a broken play. It looked like a set play. Pretty cool. If Nakada continues with Tominaga and Sato as main sett...

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

I don't think I've ever used my "ifs" to contradict myself. Reality is Brazil was almost about to be eliminated until China saved their skin. Reality is Brazil won the WGP in a complicated manner that almost got them eliminated in the pool phase of the final round. Did I ever contradicted myself with my ifs? I don't think I've ever challenged that fact. But you on the other hand... Playing the" if "game that Netherlands would've still lost anyway to China if it was the first game was your fatal ...

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Quoted from "Agguerro" It's inconsequential really to argue about what is most important or how Brazil won, because there are lots of extraneous variables which influence all these things - and in sport, it is usually a matter of everything coming together at the right time - hence why you could have in Tennis a relatively unknown Ostapenko, who's never won a title, come to the French open and win it. Similarly, not a lot of people, I'm sure including Guimares himself, expected that win for Bra...

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

Quoted from "MioSa" Hey, pleaseeeee... Netherlands better than Brasil in this WGP? What are we talking about? water polo?!?!?!?! Brasil payed two times against Netherlands and win this two games... The reason why u choose netherlands, u think egonu and boscovic are incredible players, and u think USA was, and will always be, the favorite for everything is simple: nothing about the south will be good enought for u... And just more one thing... u call individuality what i prefer to call tallent. ...
