Women's World Grand Champions Cup 2017

Brazil is kind of unstable. They almost lost that 3rd set against Korea. Their next match is against USA which will determine if they get to have a medal in this competition.

Brazilian NT 2017

Quoted from "saishuu" Quoted from "Ayra" But wasn't Gabi called to the NT when she was just 17 or 18 and Natalia was just 16 or 17 when she first joined the NT? What makes them different from the other young players? Btw is Drussyla not joining the U23? Gabi I believe was 19, yes. But that was coming after a superb season in Rexona early in the Olympic cycle (2013). Natália did play in the adult NT at a very young age, yes, but as I said, that was ages ago (12 years, to be precise) and she was ...

Brazilian NT 2017

Quoted from "saishuu" Quoted from "aXeLbEn12" Quoted from "saishuu" Some of you guys need to chill with the U-20/18 girls, they are not gonna be called to the NT any time soon. It's kinda crazy how everyone's putting so much hope onto Júlia Bergmann when she's only like 16. She has big potential, sure, but there's still a long way to go until she makes it to the senior NT (if she does). I think the team is good as it is now. We'll have to see how Edinara and Lorenne perform in the next U23 cham...

Chinese NT 2017

In that match against the Netherlands, China only needed to win 2 sets to remain at the top of their group. After winning those 2 sets, the coach should have rested his main players to avoid tiring them out. What happened may have affected their performance but Italy also did its part to win the game. I do hope that in the next tournament, Lang Ping will be back to re-organize the team.

Brazilian NT 2017

Regarding Natalia, I think she performs better if someone is covering her in reception just like when she was in Rio(Sesc) and Fener. In recent games, she had to be the receiving OH since in the current line-up I think she's their best option for that role. I think she's more comfortable when she's focused on attack and with only little responsibility in reception.

Italian NT 2017

I just read this thread and I can't believe that there is a big issue in the NT because of shoes. Imagine Zaytsev being out of the NT all because he wants to wear a different brand of shoes.

Brazilian NT 2017

I think Brazil was forced to bring in new players this year. If Thaisa, Gabi, Juciely, Dani and Fe Garay weren't injured or didn't asked for personal time, they would all be in the line-up. If Sheilla and Fabiana didn't retire, I think they will still be included. If it weren't for the current circumstances, there is a big chance we wouldn't even see the new players that are included in the NT now. Btw, does anyone know what happened with Jaque? In the interviews that I read, Ze mentioned why Th...

The Rules - your opinion, suggestion

I don't like the new rules. It will remove the pipe attacks and the jump serves. The game is fine as it is just remove the technical timeouts. I feel sorry for the players already.

Brazilian NT 2017

I don't think having Gabi (Sesc) in the NT is a big problem. She would just be a second option attacker. Her main responsibility would be defense and reception. She would have the same responsibility as Jaque had before. In the grand prix and Olympics, she was used as a false opposite allowing Garay or Natalia to be freer in attack during the inversions. A team can't all just be full of attackers otherwise the plays would be obvious. No reception means it would just go to the OH or opposite maki...

2017 / 2018 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

If it's true, Kim and Natalia better get out of there because they will not win anything or their perfromance might decline. Quoted from "Sidney" The rumor about Luizomar de Moura in Fenerbahce is very much laughable. Among other issues, he can't even speak in English.

Some people are saying it should have been Hill or Drussyla but the thing is that the awards were based on the stats. The biggest reason she got the award is probably because she had the best reception among all the OH.

Quoted from "rbdfabio" Quoted from "Shiznut81" Quoted from "akitoakie" Should be: Best OH: Zhu Ting 2nd OH: Kim Hill Best MB: Juciely 2nd MB: Maja Best OPP: Boskovic Best Setter: Naz Best Libero: Fabi Gabi is 3rd best receiver , Hill is 5th. Gabi 11th best spiker , Hill 15th. Gabi 9th best score , Hill 11th. Plus Ana Beatriz should be 2nd MB or even the best MB, she is the best score among all MB, best server among all MB, and 3rd best blocker, only behind Poljak. Bia played better than Juciely...
