European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Oh dear! Ilka's not only setting but personality is strange! She gave a set to Herbots while Herbots dug a ball and was not present for attacking at zone 4, then Ilka complains to Herbots

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "Emil" I love Vincourova's setting posture, so elegance and soft. I feel sorry for Heyrman, she scores so well when she plays with a good setter but with Van de Vyver, she's not special. This Belgian team is a big disappointment. Same with Leys. She is such a great receiver and defender and did a decent job in attacking when she played with Gamze in GS but Ilka is avoiding her as much as possible.

Van de vyver Don't know what went wrong in her development but her creativity is terrible compared to 3-4 years ago. It's a really dissapointing era for European volleyball considering the quality of setters. Even the best teams like Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Serbia have so so setters. To me Naz is probably the best setter of this tournament on paper. Too bad Malinov is injured and Antonijevic had to be cut.

Quoted from "beri" You know what I think is a shame? Putting Egonu and Boskovic in a same sentence with Fabris. I don't hate Croatian team I'm simply ashamed for them. I even wanted Fabris in my fav team FB if you guys remember. But everytime I saw her after it was a huge disappointment and yes I know she plays as OH atm. I agree on that too! Egonu and Boskovic are totally in a different level. Same with Zhu, who is neither european nor an opposite

Quoted from "ossubtus" that is the group of death for sure. how did UKR,BUL end up together with RUS and TUR? I agree! These teams all could qualify if they were playing in different groups. It's unfortunate that teams like Croatia&Georgia are in the same group for example.

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "crovolley" @beri don't even compare Barun with this two Turkish OPP or even Fabris whoch is plaYing as OH this ECH. They are playing with Grbac and your opps are playing with Naz. Just don't. I agree on crovolley. Comparing Barun and Fabris with Meryem and Polen is a shame. Barun and Fabris have been carrying their teams on their shoulders for some years, while Polen is a bench queen and Meryem is a star of mediocre teams. No team would use any of Meryem & Polen in champions league...

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

I think Ukraine is having problem against solid servers. In tie-break, Bulgaria had 2 of their best servers in serve line in a row, first Kitipova, then Rabadzhieva and they made a very long serie. Turkey can have an easy time to finish the group 1st if they keep the serve pressure against these 3 teams.

Bad decision by the Ukrainian trainer to sub Stepaniuk so quickly. Both players replacing her did a worse job with more errors than gains. Meanwhile, it is pretty interesting that all 3 slavic teams in group C have terrible setters while they have pretty good wing attackers and tall blocks. It would make a big difference for any of these 3 teams to have a slightly more decent setter.

I remember Rhykiluk (god dammit, its hard to spell) playing for Ukraine this year but she had really bad stats and got subbed after a while.

Friendly NT Matches

Quoted from "Wojtek13" pity that there is no info about rosters in each match, but I must say that Turkey seams to be very good prepared for ECH There is actually They posted stats on the Serbian NT thread: Serbian NT 2017 All 3 matches had stats published. Mihajlovic didnt play the last match due to injury. Veljkovic is doing an excellent job. I actually would love to watch Veljkovic and Rasic instead of Stevanovic.

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "StefanS" Quoted from "Meatballs" According to head of Turkish Federation, Galatasaray already applied for hosting F4 in Istanbul! Although I support GS, I don't like the idea. They did the same many years ago when they were in Champions League and it didnt work out well since they didnt play F6 round. However I guess both Vakifbank and GS will be in F4 anyway, so it won't be surprising if it is in Istanbul. This seems indeed premature to me, but of course there will be enough (like...

Turkish NT 2017

Just to fix the wrong examples: Ezgi Dagdelenler herself decided to continue her career in division 2 with her team. Not sure if she was scared to leave her team but that is the main reason she was never invited to the NT again, besides she was bad in her club team this season. Same story with Damla Cakiroglu who played in division 2 last season and not in the NT... Nursevil is as tall as Ceyda Aktas, height means nothing in my opinion unless you are over 185. Centoni, Sheilla, Tandara etc are n...

I agree on Serdar. I know most people criticise Nursevil's setting but she did a very good job in WGP last summer, actually the NT played much better than this summer with her. I know she doesnt have typical setter features like soft hands, fast feet to go under the ball. I don't think she is converted to opposite forever. This summer it was clear that Turkey needs a solid opposite and none of the names we have so far deliver that performance. Especially among youngsters, we had no choice but Nu...

Serbian NT 2017

Quoted from "Sisko95" Yeah, I'm pretty sure she won't be cleared before the ECH. Very unfortunate because Zivkovic is such a limited setter and better teams well read her easily. Surprising to see Guldeniz scoring better than Boskovic and Mihajlovic A few weeks ago Serbia were clear favourites for the ECH but now I'm not so sure... I can only explain Guldeniz being such a scorer by Gamze playing first 2 sets. They played in GS together for 2 years and she usually gives extreme quick sets to her...

Turkish NT 2017

Wow! Asli was back up of Ruseva? I think Ruseva came in for Asli, just to increase block height like max 5 times during entire season . I guess you didnt watch GS's matches, but please take a look at the stats. Zehra is indeed very slow in blocking, you can check her videos and count how many times she cant make it to block, leaving opponent's on 1-1. She is young and sure can develop this.

Turkish NT 2017

Quoted from "beri" Quoted from "Meatballs" Quoted from "beri" @Serdar & @Meatballs Ebrar Karakurt said on her instagram that she had been transferred to Japan. I don't know how official that info is though. I'd prefer her there then in this weaker VakifBank and the league. Btw Ebrar is a really good prospect and I expect a lot of her, she must have been nervous playing first time against a big team like Çanakkale and in front of Guidetti. Keep in mind, she just turned 17. Ps: anyone has stats o...
