European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

I don't think level is that bad, there are nice attacks and killer blocks from both sides. RUS seems helpless as long as TUR keep serving like this. Naz distributes sets quite well, Gözde was doing great at reception and finally she started to contributed in attack too

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "flyingdutchman" Congrats to Czech Republic !!! It is a surprise to see Czech MBs as dominant players instead of Havlickova and Havelkova.... Belgium: they gave 2nd and especially 3rd set away themselves....because of very poor hitting by OHs.. Van Gestel, Leys, Aelbrecht..they have big problems in attack....and indeed vd Vyver is very far from Frauke's level. I really like the new libero, De Tant and also Herbots. I wonder why MLejnkova and Havelkova do not play at the same time Ko...

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Losing 15-13 at tie-break is horrible But still Ukraine made the first surprise of this ECh. I'm curious if they can keep up this game against Bulgaria who is pretty much playing the same style of Russia Where does Stepaniuk play? She received 70 balls with 76% positive 63% excellent

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "JoanaBG" Quoted from "serdar" More than half of the team is either Ukranian or Belarussian It used to be much worse, though. When they were on top of their game in 2004-2006, there were no ethnic Azeris on the team and the only Azerbaijan-born players were the Parkhomenko sisters and Korotenko. At least they seemed to have made some effort into developing the local talent, even though the result hasn't been that great. I really wonder what will happen with their volleyball after th...

The Rules - your opinion, suggestion

To me, both serving line and 15 points sets are failure. I only would like to keep one technical time out at 12th point and less time breaks in between sets to reduce "dead time"

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "Matthias" For Turkey, Gizem and Merve are registered as liberos and Simge will be regular player as defensive specialist. Guidetti did the same in German and Dutch NT btw... Merve was defense specialist libero in FB with Melis Yılmaz, and Gizem Örge is known to have better reception but being mediocre defender. Thus, it makes sense to use two libero system. Probably Simge will sub Neriman when she is in the backrow. Güldeniz is a great defender but her reception is not as solid as ...

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "powsoff" Quoted from "beri" I can't believe Ukraine did not add Aleksandra Bytsenko to their roster, their best OH and plays in Bursa BBSK (Turkey) I will not root for Ukraine until they start getting some sense and add this young talent to their roster. Imagine how much of an offensive power Rykhliuk + Bytsenko could be Aleksandra was like MVP of delegation round last season in Nilüfer, she saved their asses and now they have Buijs + Carol and she got awarded as well as she plays ...

European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

Quoted from "7UP" Quoted from "Loyd" Polish roster: Setters: Wołosz, Pleśnierowicz Opps: Bociek, Smarzek MBs: Efimienko, Tokarska, Kąkolewska OHs: Polak, Grajber, Murek, Twardowska, Brzóska Libero: Krzos, Witkowska Poland again with their like 2nd team. Probably apart from EG 2015 & Olympics Q in 2016 we cannot gather a reliable team with its best players since 2012 No Skorupa, Tomsia, Mucha, Medrzyk, Polanska, Ptak and ZAroslinska I don't think it is like second team indeed. Wolosz is playing ...

Turkish NT 2017

After U23, it is obvious that both Hande and Beyza should be in ECh roster. Most probably they will be added to the 12 players that was written in one of the previous posts.

FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

Quoted from "scarpetta" Hande took the MVP. No award for Ebrar I think Hande deserved to be MVP since she was very solid in every single match except the final. However, giving the best Opp award to Iza instead of Ebrar is scandal! I assume it is host bias! I agree with all other positions though. Zhana Todorova is quite a good libero, I don't know why BUL still rely on old Filipova instead

Comparison of Strength of European Leagues

The ranking would vary drastically depending on how you define the "strength". Comparing only top teams of the each league, or the strength of average ones, or the number of clubs that have competitive rosters to be champion etc. Each of this criteria could give a different ranking. Turkish league was always criticized to be all about "big 4" but this season mid level teams invested a lot, there are strong foreigners playing in mid-level teams such as Olesia Rykhliuk, Charlotte Leys, Emiliya Nik...

Chinese NT 2017

Quoted from "jetmasters" Quoted from "beri" Ok, do you want a sticker now? At least try to defend your point of view instead of sarcasm. This tournament doesn't even have the best U23 players from top teams. It is for those who got demoted or failed to solidify their spot in their respective national teams to make an impression for future selection. Possibly the best generation in 2013 U20 WC which includes Zhu, Boskovic, and Gabi didn't even play in this event because they already proven to be...

FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

Quoted from "Umu11" Quoted from "serdar" Quoted from "beri" EBRAR KARAKURT Her attitude might be intimidating sometimes but objectively, her performance deserves to be called to ECh roster considering that we are desperately lacking a good opposite for 2020, it will be a good experience for her to be there at such a early age. Yes, sure, let's bring a young player who hasn't ever trained at all and never played a senior level match with the team and ridiculessly expect her to show her talent. S...
