Italian NT 2017

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Food contamination but clenbuterol is a bronchodilator? Doesn't even make sense unless she has asthma or any breathing disorder. Clenbuterol is a pretty "old school" drug in terms of doping. It also supports muscle growth and fat burning. Quoted from "Kk15" I honestly always have an hard time believing in food contamination, anyway. And generally, you are probably right here. In case of clenbuterol, food contamination had already been proven. Clenbuterol is/was ...

Wilfredo Leon in NT Poland 2019

Quoted from "mariuszj1939" Wilfredo Leon got from FIVB official confirmation - He is now registered as Polish player (as from 24th July). It means he can play officially as member of Polish NT as from 25th July 2019 ! Good luck bro'. I just hope that things turn out well for him personally. Quoted from "SHAME" And I agree with Matthias: Grozer, Travica, Zaytsev and other cases like those are totally different than stealing volleyball players to a small island with an amazing tradition in this s...

Men's European Championship 2017

Quoted from "powsoff" Quoted from "TimHH" But in the end, most important thing is that we saw a great development with the german team in almost any volleyball related aspect and it is obvious that good work had been done in the training gym. This, in the end, is what defines a good coach more than his language skills. I think we completely agree on this. No offense, but I'm not particularly sure what development you're talking about. It's not that I follow the German team closely but what D-la...

Men's European Championship 2017

Quoted from "bella" If I would be German, I would be like "goodness, SO close!". But hey, you guys, I know the gold was close but did anyone expect reaching final, actually? Enjoy this silver, it's a massive success I don't know who was more touched, Grozer or Giani. Yes, thats how i see it, and most/all comments go in this direction too. No comparison to the lost OGQ against your team which at times, still give me nightmares. Quoted from "bella" Well, I guess that since his hair already starte...

Men's European Championship 2017

There are a lot of points worth a response in your post. I will start here: Quoted from "YavorD" Correct me if I am wrong but Giani spoke only Italian during the time-outs, we saw there wasn't always a translation of his words, and yet he motivated his team in a way that local coaches couldn't do with their lads (my favourite reference - Plamen Konstantinov). Giani's situation with Germany reminds me of an older discussion about how important it is to be able to communicate with your team and wh...

Men's European Championship 2017

Now this was a wonderful and thrilling match. maybe not so much for a fan of the russian team but anyway.... Congrats to the russian team, they just deserved this after they have played such a great tournament. The german guys put everything on the court and it was visible that they just had nothing to lose but everything to win today. Even as a spectator i somehow felt this way. No comparison to the OG qualifier against Poland where there was so much at stake and which took away years of my lif...

Men's European Championship 2017

had a season prep tournament myself today and it ended that we watched the fifth set with a bunch of of people in front of one or two smart phones, following the stream. Pretty good athmosphere I would guess, 80 % of the people (Volleyballer) didn't even know before that there is something like ECH going on, which is somehow telling on german volleyball. But its not the time for a rant now......... Just hope the russians have some mercy with us tomorrow. I said it from the first day that they l...

Men's European Championship 2017

Now that was a tough, and in parts, ugly match. At a certain point of the match, the whole system was close to a complete collapse but credit to the guys that they did not give up and kept on trying. Special credit goes out to Ge├Ârgy was forced into so many high, an i mean really high, balls that it was almost painful to watch. It wasn't a perfect match for him but as i said, he overcame difficult moments and scored important points later in the match. But the match winner today for me was Marku...

Men's European Championship 2017

The second set followed the same pattern i have wittnessed too often this summer. Once the service is off, all other elements fall apart too. First set was better but czechs were not really in the game either. This is defenitely not enough

Men's European Championship 2017

I admit that i would somehow be a bit more relaxed, if Germany played France tonight. I wrote earlier that it is almost impossible that this tournament still can end in big disappointment but lets be real, not reaching the semis against Czech would be exactly this, a big disappointment. I expect a different kind of game compared to the pool stage. In this match the Czechs played practically without opposite. I don't think Finger will play that bad again, especially after his good match yesterday...

Men's European Championship 2017

Generally saying, I think Kaziyski's assesment makes pretty much sense. In the end its a theory but so is yours'..... Quoted from "rbdfabio" At the end of the day what`s on the line in this ECH? What`s the prize money? It does not even give FIVB points. Via european rankings, ECH played an important role for last World Cup and Rio olympic qualifaction. We do not yet know all the qualification criteria for Tokyo but voluntarily giving up on ECH sounds like a strange strategy and i think thats whe...

Personally i was already at the point to believe that the french team can do whatever they want and put on court whoever they want and still look great. They might have started to believe this too..... I only hope the german team stays focussed. This czech team plays much better now than in the pool stage.

Regarding the last two seasons, you can't even say that this result comes as a massive sensation. but its not over yet. Looking only at this tournament, this result so far may even put russian and bulgarian performances into a new light.

2018 New Volleyball League

Quoted from "garbalawal" According to Tunisia Volleyball federation, a new competition will be created in 2018: the "FIVB Men's Challenger League" with 20 teams participating. In place of the european teams, especially Belgium and Slovenia, i would just show FIVB the finger. There are just no benefits for them to fly around the world and play the likes of Tunisia, Mexico or Chinese Taipei. If they want practice during summer, they would be much better of with a kind of "European League". Quoted...
