2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "Dr Organoborane" Is it just me, or does the North Korean team look more solid than South Korea minus KYK? Not only you... if you take out KYK then PRK can beat KOR :-) Had PRK played in Pool A KAZ they could have beaten the host and represents Asia in the 2018 WCh :-)

Chinese Female Superleague 2017/2018 [Oct.28 - Apr.XX]

WOW! What a fun and refreshing trip by the Zhejiang team to spend some autumn experience in the USA :-) Well have a great recreational trip... lots of fun EDIT: just watched the match, the NCAA Division I American University team ain't so strong a squad.. the host got much better in set 2. that court is more a basketball one with the uniform color makes it hard to see the lines moreover under lowres camera... funny on how both teams made challenges under the inadequate equipment.. why not just r...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "ossubtus" KAZ level seems to have fallen a lot since they beat KOR in 2014 to qualify for the WCh. on the other hand, CHN and KOR seem to be taking this very seriously. CHN sent its A team (why? they could have won with the B team), and KOR has KYK in the team. Quoted from "jetmasters" You always bring your A team for World tournament qualifications because you can't afford any upsets even though your opponents are much weaker. Korea lost to Kazakhstan in 2014 with KYK so upsets ca...

The Rules - your opinion, suggestion

The Federation should REDUCE the rules to the minimum level with one sole principle in mind -- HOW TO keep the ball in play and make the game more interesting to watch without all those silly faults caused by various small detailed rules like those faults related to the center line etc etc..... In short they should review the rules and make that sport simpler. I want to see the players focusing on the play, keeping the ball afloat not touching the floor, instead of memorizing all the kinds of mi...

Quoted from "theloneracer" Quoted from "samsara" May I ask how did you insert such nice youtube link here since the board does not have a ready feature for that? I used [_youtube_]-insert-youtube-link-[_/_youtube_] (remove the underscores). I got this tip from someone else post in this very forum but can't remember where. If there is a problem try removing or don't add the "https://" just the link like "www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVh9TFIJkPs". Thanks theloneracer for the tip The key steps are: (1)...

Think those new names, at least some of them, are the raw candidates for the NEXT Olympic Cycle, the 2024 Paris OG.... but perhaps one or two names may have some chance to compete for the 2020 OG roster??? In the meantime let's see whether any of the new names will show up in the 2018 WCh. Time will divulge A continuous relentless quest for new quality potential players will ensure the bright future for the Chinese Team for long long time to come... uninterruptedly from one generation to the oth...

Quoted from "beri" And here you are still being This conversation is stupid and more meaningless then U23 and WGCC combined lets just agree to disagree? On-topic: I was criticizing Zhu a lot last season but I have to say she is really starting her road to being a legend. Only thing is I hope it is not affecting the rest of the China players since all sets are to Zhu and she even covers a lot of reception lately. I can already see some players losing confidence and dedication. China although ofc...

FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

Quoted from "ossubtus" LOL. DOM have 4 martinez! brayelin, jineiry, natalia and larysmer. brayelin is not playing in this match? So, are all these Martinez the blood sisters? If so then it's a strange phenomenon whereas a family dominating the NT It came out the SF match of TUR v DOM was the REAL final (while the host was a tame opponent in the final), it's a very tight match and the victory could go to either's side. It's a DOM's bad to lose the last two points in the 6th set rather easily aft...

FIVB U23 World Championship - 2017 |

WOW! The European teams are so strong; they are dominating the U23 World Championship... good sign for that continent since U23 is the closest age bracket to the NT state, just need one more step of metamorphosis. Poor BRA, the outright reversal of WGP F6.... this time the dragon slayer, CUB beat them to save the BUL instead... what a way to miss the tournament at the very end after leading all the ways in pool position... surprise surprise. Well, TUR will be the favourite to grab this title... ...

And DOM proceeds to the semifinals as the runner-up of Pool A even though the team was beaten by THA 3 - 4 (15 - 9; 15 - 12; 12 - 15; 15 - 11; 12 - 15; 11 - 15; 18 - 20) in the last match for the better set ratio cf. CHN team. Thus the SF will play SLO & DOM from Pool A and TUR & BRA (most likely) from Pool B; still have to wait for the last match BRA v CUB re which team to top the Pool B. BUL needs the miracle by CUB bt BRA

Chinese NT 2017

Quoted from "serdar" Quoted from "samsara" Quoted from "jetmasters" China's bench can easily win this qualifying tournament so Zhu is only there as insurance. The random team during Asian Championships managed to get 4th place so the group China is in is relatively weak. If An can't win with the bench, it only means he's too incompetent. As for U23, it's pretty much a meaningless tournament since it was newly added a few years back so winning it is not important like U18 and U20. Think of it as...
