Russian Superleague 2017/2018

I do repeat myself, but man, whats going on with Maxim? Again hitting 80% (16/20) and finishing match with 23 points in a 3-setter Any news on Grozer? He hasn't been on the roster for Lokomotiv lately...

2018 New Volleyball League

Quoted from "rbdfabio" One thing that I don`t think it is necessary are the "qualifications" tournaments, for example World League and Grand Prix could simply be used for that matter. Well, participants of WL/WGP now officially get selected by economical standards. So i don't think, this would be workable. What would be about Slovenia and Belgium, for example? Even giving ranking points imho is questionable.... If you want to reduce the schedule, the most simple solution could be to let them pl...

Germany - Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) 2017/18

Quoted from "TimHH" Season could become difficult for Berlin, unless the old guard (Kromm,Carroll, Kühner) quickly plays the rust out of their bones..... And here we go. Berlin lost in straight sets to Düren . Carroll and Kromm need to get their act together, otherwise further losses will follow. Today the new austrian/bavarian wildcard team of Hypo Tirol Haching will make their first impression in Bundesliga with their match in Friedrichshafen (14.30 CET, TV production). stream: http://sportde...

2018 New Volleyball League

Well, with this discussion i feel a bit like Bill Murray in "groundhog day". Always the same, again and again..... I can hardly understand, how one can't see, that a better compromise between club volleyball and NT season needs to be found. And no, that doesn't mean "getting rid of WL" or however they will call it. Just a better compromise and a more reasonable schedule than we have right now... Just as i think that you twist and turn the facts as you need them, i made some comments below.... Qu...

2018 New Volleyball League

Quoted from "Noncommittal" http://www.fivb.com/en/about/news/fivb-a…league?id=73085 Confirmation of the new World league. And the child's name is going to be "Volleyball Nations League". And this time, really and for sure, it is going to be the best and most innovative ever . They also announced a kind of "Challenger League" without giving further details yet.....

France - Ligue Nationale de Volley 2017-18

Website: http://www.lnv.fr/9/lam.html There are said to be replays of the matches available. Furthermore special matches will be streamed on the channel of "L'Equipe". We will see how this will play out in the end. Can't say much on favourite teams, as i haven't followed the league very closely so far. I will surely have an eye on how Reichert (Tours) and Jan Zimmermann (Poiters) will do. I hope they will learn some new tricks in their first season abroad.

Poland - PlusLiga 2017/18

Quoted from "saishuu" Salvador Hidalgo Oliva scored FIVE consecutive aces for Jastrzebski against Belchatow today http://www.polsatsport.pl/film/fenomenal…-rzedu_6522121/ Piechocki and Ebadipour are gonna have nightmares tonight. And all in vain. In the end, they still lost that set. Watching JW playing is really entertaining again, even it wasn't a perfect match today. The Kampa-Hidalgo connection is just great and also Quiroga seems to be a good fit to the team. Still the roster looks a bit t...

Germany - Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) 2017/18

VfB is winning 3:1 and so the first title of the season goes to Friedrichshafen. stats: http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2017-18/Men/&1.pdf Season could become difficult for Berlin, unless the old guard (Kromm,Carroll, Kühner) quickly plays the rust out of their bones. Imho the team lost quality, especially the bench (K. Russell, van Harlem, Adam White for ter Maat, Zhukouski and Schott). Still time to prove me wrong though..... I don't even think that Friedrichshafen played close to 100% to...

United Volleys transferred opposite player Issei Otake. Both transfers already had some impact on the clubs' social media sites, so apparantly both guys are pretty popular in Jap...

Russian Superleague 2017/2018

i have been around volleyball courts for quite a while, but this is pretty unique i have to say. What a match for Mykhailov against Belgorod, and Leon not much worse. Russian league should consider imposing a "handicap" for them. Something like a weight west or mandatory "left-arm-hitting"...... http://www.volleyservice.ru/index.php?op…=3587&Itemid=77

Your Favorite Volleyball Golden Triangle/Holy Trinity?

Quoted from "Kaziyski" Simon - Leal - Leon - Cuba WCH 2012. Good call, eventhough Leon, for age reasons, wasn't yet at todays level. Still it depresses me, that we won't see them together again, at least on NT level. Personally, i took high enjoyment of the triangle Bruno/Lucas/Ngapeth. Highly spectacular and they played stuff which you just don't see from other guys.

Italian NT 2017

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Food contamination but clenbuterol is a bronchodilator? Doesn't even make sense unless she has asthma or any breathing disorder. Clenbuterol is a pretty "old school" drug in terms of doping. It also supports muscle growth and fat burning. Quoted from "Kk15" I honestly always have an hard time believing in food contamination, anyway. And generally, you are probably right here. In case of clenbuterol, food contamination had already been proven. Clenbuterol is/was ...

Wilfredo Leon in NT Poland 2019

Quoted from "mariuszj1939" Wilfredo Leon got from FIVB official confirmation - He is now registered as Polish player (as from 24th July). It means he can play officially as member of Polish NT as from 25th July 2019 ! Good luck bro'. I just hope that things turn out well for him personally. Quoted from "SHAME" And I agree with Matthias: Grozer, Travica, Zaytsev and other cases like those are totally different than stealing volleyball players to a small island with an amazing tradition in this s...

Men's European Championship 2017

Quoted from "powsoff" Quoted from "TimHH" But in the end, most important thing is that we saw a great development with the german team in almost any volleyball related aspect and it is obvious that good work had been done in the training gym. This, in the end, is what defines a good coach more than his language skills. I think we completely agree on this. No offense, but I'm not particularly sure what development you're talking about. It's not that I follow the German team closely but what D-la...

Men's European Championship 2017

Quoted from "bella" If I would be German, I would be like "goodness, SO close!". But hey, you guys, I know the gold was close but did anyone expect reaching final, actually? Enjoy this silver, it's a massive success I don't know who was more touched, Grozer or Giani. Yes, thats how i see it, and most/all comments go in this direction too. No comparison to the lost OGQ against your team which at times, still give me nightmares. Quoted from "bella" Well, I guess that since his hair already starte...

Men's European Championship 2017

There are a lot of points worth a response in your post. I will start here: Quoted from "YavorD" Correct me if I am wrong but Giani spoke only Italian during the time-outs, we saw there wasn't always a translation of his words, and yet he motivated his team in a way that local coaches couldn't do with their lads (my favourite reference - Plamen Konstantinov). Giani's situation with Germany reminds me of an older discussion about how important it is to be able to communicate with your team and wh...
