Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "serdar" By the way, why does Beylikduzu use Kulan as Opp who is a better attacker from zone 4 while forcing their real opposite Ceren Kestirengoz to play as OH I hope Mehmet Bedestenlioglu won't insist on this crazy idea since we really need Opps playing in their club Finally Kulan is back to OH position and it seems like she did a good job. It is good that Guidetti rotating players for each match but I think changing only 1 or 2 players for each set is better idea than playing wit...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "beri" Interesting that Nilüfer plays with Selin instead of Özge Nur as local MB next to Carol. Özge Nur is that bad these days? I was also surprised. Canakkale's second libero was horrible, they will suffer a lot if Ayça naz ihtiyaroğlu won't recover soon. Both Alajbeg and Brinker played very bad also. I also wonder why their Puerto Ricon player Cerame was not in the roster? Anyway Canakkale seems to be the one that will relegate with Ilbank Nilufer showed a decent performance. Not...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "rbdfabio" Zivkovic joined LeCannet - and they have Cubans Giel and Sanchez, 2 Russians, 1 Croatian - Serbia - Azerbaijan. They won`t win anything, but at least they are a decent team. Giel was a killer MB when she was playing in Cuban NT, however her level dropped a lot after giving 2 years break

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Tomkom did really well last year, she had a big share for the success of Natalia and Eda, however her match with Rahimova will be question mark since they are used to very different styles

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

We saw many players who were quite successful and then failed in European top leagues, so it is not a valid indication By the way Neslihan showed a poor performance for the first game, she wasn't with NT so she joined to her club quite early, I was expecting a better performance from her. Considering she did not receive to cover Kosheleva, she could have better attacking performance.

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

I always remember Nikolova to collapse in crucial parts of the game and being very unstable in Bulgarian NT. On the other hand, Joyce was the most consistent Opposite of the league last season, she always kept a decent level in almost every game. About MBs, it is hard to judge since Belien is not a dominant player who could make a difference in a team but maybe she will be more useful than Milos once she get the connection with setters. Bytsenko seems to be a strong attacker indeed but I think D...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

It was a pity that Bursa couldn't take it to tiebreak, it was a good serving series from Bahar To me, Bursa only upgraded libero position which was their weakest position last season while both setter and Opp positions get worse compared to Ozge&Joyce. Speaking of Ozge, where is she playing this season?

Serbian NT 2017

Quoted from "USAvolleyfan" Klisura had some shoulder injury which prevented her from playing even in the junior categories.. am I right? She was a monster, I remember that You might be right, she didn't play in U21 WCh indeed, which costed Serbia to have one of the worse ranking in junior competitions Her teammates from that junior NT, Stevanoviç, Bjelica, Pusiç, Radenkoviç managed to keep improving and made their way to senior NT although Klisura was clearly the best player among these players...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "Kk15" Wait, in the second round there will be two pools of eight teams? Not 4 pools of 4? So, the first 3 for each pool will pass? 16 teams will be split into two pools of eight http://japan2018.fivb.com/en/competition/formula It is not clear though, does that mean each team will play against other 6 teams that are not coming from the same group

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "samsara" Quoted from "serdar" If FIVB will use serpentine system for first 12 teams as they did in last editions, pools will be as following; Pool-A: JPN-NED-DOM Pool-B: CHN-ITA-KOR Pool-C: USA-RUS-ARG Pool-D: SRB-BRA-TUR Quite bad draw for Turkey If we will get BUL also drawn in that group, it will be the group of death We have a ridiculous tournament formula anyway, it really doesn't make much difference in which group you are for the first phase Is it arranged based on the curre...

2018 New Volleyball League

Quoted from "vabo" I'm more annoyed at the fact that, whether you liked it or not, WL and WGP were brands established decades ago and with some kind of global appeal in the tiny market of worldwide volleyball. Now they're starting from scratch with the most ridiculous name imaginable and the formula STILL doesn't work. I agree! World league was already nice brand and this new name is just ridicilous

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "SHAME" Paulina Prieto Cerame in Canakkale. She's an OPP or non-receiving OH. I wonder how their passing will look like now... Replacing libero like OH Megan Courtney with Opp like OH Cerame

I also agree that foreigners should be Ognjenovic-Boskovic and Adams. Larson should be used only in CL if necessary. Eczacibasi suffered a lot last season due to too many changes among foreigners. This season most important thing for Motta is to decide a solid starting 6 and stick to it. Guldeniz as starter OH with Hande&Meliha depending their shape is best possible combination

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

FB needs an OH who could play as "second libero" but neither Damla's nor Ezgi's reception is solid. Although they are short players, it doesn't mean that they are solid receivers. Mia's reception is not as good Kim's, so it will be a big liability against good server teams to keep both on court. I think Mia will only play instead of Natalia when she has a bad day. I'm also curious to see Tomkom-Rahimova combination. Tomkom is one of the most creative setters while Rahimova is such a dull attacke...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "USAvolleyfan" Quoted from "Canter" after watching Kosheleva in the last ECH..im a bit worried about Galatasaray first she will be a liability in passing like in Russian NT serves are very good in VVSL.any team can serve very well and either Neslihan or Kosheleva will have to cover some space together with libero Buse and OH Rabadzieva. Kosheleva doenst seem to be a beast like in the past.i hope with Gamze's sets she can find her real game and we can watch a good Kosheleva again.mor...

Serbian NT 2017

Quoted from "Janko" Quoted from "JoanaBG" It's also very good to hear that the whole team is very supportive of Ana Antonijević and she is definitely counted on for the future competitions. That is very good, indeed. However, what if Maja decides for one last push for WCh the next year, do you still think Ana would accept the invitation to be a bench setter? I just worry that those rumours about why she was absent from the NT for more than 5 years (besides the injuries) are true. And yeah, some...
