Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

I think the confusion is in that those live score stats don't make a distinction between spiking and serving errors, you have to look at the detailed stats for that. For example, last week it said that Guiggi had 5 mistakes and I wondered how a MB like her could make that many, but it turned out 4 of those were from the service line.

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "Matthias" Maybe Haak needs to take her warm-up more seriously? 8 of her errors were in the first two sets, and then she ends up with 30 pts again. She had a similar match some weeks ago when she was invisibile in the 1st set and then showed her true self. Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't think it's surprising considering her age. Bošković experienced something similar a few years back. Jesus Christ, the spiking success rate for Guerra and Starčević It's a miracle they even managed...

Pomi lost again, to Firenze this time, 3-2. After leading 2-0. Baby steps, I guess. Conegliano playes enjoyable volleyball but it's a shame that the TV match of the round was such a blowout.

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Brankica talked a bit about her life in Japan. She admitted she wasn't sure she was going to get her passion and motivation back so quickly after winning the ECh gold so recently, but when she got to Japan, she had such a warm welcome and everyone was so nice to her that she immediately found her groove again. The difference compared to the last time she played in Japan is that she's now more mature and knows what she can do and what's expected of her. There are a lot of young players on the tea...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Bošković did make some mistakes, but she and Adams were the only ones who could score. All the other hitters - Larson, Meliha, Hande, Guldeniz - they were completely invisible. Not to mention they all seemed to compete who could receive worse. Larson in particular needs to step up her game. She's far too important for Eczacibasi's system to be playing like this. Fenerbahce has some magic going on, no matter how many times they change their roster, somehow they always end up having a balanced and...

CEV Champions League 2018

I really don't understand how they allowed even a theoretical possibility of something like Pool A happening in the sport's most valued club competition. And then that it actually happened! It really devalues the sport of volleyball as a whole.

2017 / 2018 Transfer News

I supposed she had quietly retired! I guess she can still make herself useful in the Turkish 2nd league. I wonder what's going on with Brakočević, though. I thought she might be pregnant, but judging by her Instagram, she's obviously not, and she's looking VERY fit. Maybe we'll see her somewhere in the 2nd half of the season.

CEV Champions League 2018

Again horrendously unbalanced draw. Pools B and D are MUCH stronger than A and C. Especially pool A is a complete embarrassment.

CEV Champions League 2018

Teams from the same country directly qualified to CL can't be drawn in the same group, but a directly qualified team can be matched with the one that came through the qualies. So, a group with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray or Moscow and Kazan is not possible, but the one with Fenerbahce/Galatasaray and Vakifbank or Novara and Conegliano is.

Malagurski didn't manage to score a single point tonight I'm still hanging to the delusional hope she'll again be as good as she once was, but it's probably time to accept it's not happening

Rondon didn't even play today! But it's clear they need a better setter than Cyr. Although, having someone of Lo Bianco's age (no matter how good she is) as the main setter was always going to be a risky strategy. Guerra is a big disappointment so far, this was her chance to impose herself in the abscence of Martinez (and Zeng Chunlei) and she hasn't used it at all in these matches. I expected more from her.

Pomi (without Martinez) just got spanked at home by Pesaro, 3-0 And 25-13 in the 3rd set Unless they manage to get their full squad soon and get it to actually work, they're really going to fight to avoid relegation

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

It's true that pretty much everyone in Eczacibasi underperformed last season, but clearly no one else played poorly as much and as often as Kosheleva. I don't think it's anything controversial to say.

Yes, Giel was in Serbian club Vizura last year, but she was in such bad physical shape that I don't think she even played at all. She really was one of the absolute best prospects in worldwide volleyball over the last 10 years, it's really a shame that she fell so low.

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Haak started the game rather slowly (like the entire Scandicci team, everyone had an awful first set), but improved as the match went on. She was again very good in the end. And what's really impressive is how few error she makes, considering how young she is and how many sets she gets. Micha Hancock is so annoying her constant attempts to put the ball down, it doesn't work nearly as often as she'd like. And her setting skills aren't anything special. It must be so frustrating so have her on you...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "ossubtus" i only watched the first 2 sets of scandicci x pomi. starcevic wasn't so bad, i mean, she wasn't any worse than guerra. Guerra is better. At least her serve is a factor and she doesn't get blocked or spikes out half of the time. It's not by much, though, and ideally they should both be substitutes. I've just seen Havelkova's stats... Horrible. I wonder if she's done as a top player. In general I feel the league is not as balanced this season... The strong teams have (most...

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Vadim Pankov claims that his daughter wasn't treated fairly in Dinamo and is very unhappy and vocal about it. According to him, Pankova was told that there was no guarantee that she'd be starting over Vetrova and Babeshina, and both she and daddy were upset about it and thought she deserved better, so she decided to leave. The Dinamo staff have expressed disappointment over such allegations and claim that Pankova was treated just like any other player. Looks like the split was far from amicable....
