Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Nirk" Quoted from "Nirk" Quoted from "Nirk" StefanS, you should change positions in USC roster. Luisa Keller is clearly an opposite (left handed) and Lina Alsmeier is ouside hitter. Hi StefanS, after you have ignored my wish four month ago, perhaps you can change the positions of these players now on first page of this thread? And Nadja Schaus is missing. I think she is Opp (maybe MB)... thanks! Ok the years of birth are also wrong. Keller 2001, Alsmeier 2000 and Hoenhorst 1997, Lo...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

By the way, if we can get even higher with the budget the gap to the majority of teams in VBL regarding Stuttgart will increase of course. So our sports director Kim Renkema hopes for a budget of about 2 million Euro in not too far away future, which would even pose a problem to Dresden and Schwerin, not to mention the other teams. This would not do good for the league, but only enable Stuttgart playing CL in a half-reasonable manner. But budget is not all, as you can see currently in Poland too...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Nirk" Quoted from "Matthias" I see you read that ridiculous article too. Just because Stuttgart, who undoubtedly is in great shape right now, had one very easy win over Potsdam, who undoubtedly is in very bad shape right now, they are moaning about the bad level of the league apart from the top 3 teams. Apparently they missed Münster taking Schwerin to tie-break and Aachen causing a lot of trouble to Dresden and so on. I can't wait to see Karma striking back at Stuttgart Yeah I hav...

2018 CEV Challenge Cup

From a German point of view successful start in the competition: easy win for Stuttgart in Olomouc (Olmütz), also for Dresden against French cup winner Pays d'Aix Venelles (in front of some 2,600 spectators) and even Schwerin did it in four against a more difficult opponent (Rocheville LE CANNET) also from France. I think there were generally no real surprises today. We will politely not comment about Eczacibasi vs. OUDEGEM (Belgium), this one was pretty unfair from the beginning. Sorry, wrong t...

Quoted from "Matthias" She was such a nice revelation in her first season as pro player. Münster is really unlucky this season Yes, this is a major drawback for Münster, in Suhl it will work out without her, I think, but against stronger opponents they will miss her very much.

2018 CEV Challenge Cup

Interestingly Stiinta Bacau won 3 to 1 sets against Azerrail Baku at home. The time of glory of Azeri womens volleyball in Europe is obviously over, even when considering that Bacau is the third placed team in the truly not bad Romanian league. Krasnodar is really very weak currently: in Graz they needed the tie-break (!) to win against a rather feeble opponent. So this fits in the bad picture of trailing Russian superleague.

CEV Cup 2018

Clearly a big disappointment by CSM Bukarest - I expected them to exert much more resistance against Ekaterinburg at home. The only thing remarkable otherwise I think is the close two sets of Busto Arsizio at home in Pala Yamamy against underdog Brcko, despite they won in 3 sets.

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "beri" I agree that Fener has weaknesses but just because they lost a set against Agel doesn't mean they suddenly lose their spot as a fave. They probably underestimated them and Agel came good prepared at home.Tbh I don't think Fener was a clear fave for the group anyway as there are no clear favorites. Favorite, maybe. Clear fave, nah. Can't wait for next matches either. Agel Prostejov has a lot of CL experience and they did a hard training session yesterday with Stuttgart, which ...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Nirk" Quoted from "StefanS" ... currently only the four teams with more than 1 million Euro budget can afford it (Dresden, Schwerin, Stuttgart, Vilsbiburg) and even those didn't do what they were eligible to... Can you tell me the numbers of USC Münster and the other teams? (and yeah, it is not enough to play european cups, you are right). Only a few and roughly, maybe some others know better? Potsdam 600.000 € Wiesbaden 800.000 € Münster 700.000 € Suhl 500.000 € Erfurt 600.000 € A...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "harboboy" And I guess this will never happen, the soccer club Alemannia Aachen and its financial crisis affected the volleyclub as well. Since the bankruptcy of Alemania Aachen the club PTSV is the carrier of Aachens Ladies in Black. But for sure, they lack a lot of money to participate in European Cups, currently only the four teams with more than 1 million Euro budget can afford it (Dresden, Schwerin, Stuttgart, Vilsbiburg) and even those didn't do what they were eligible to: Sch...

It was indeed unexpected easy for Stuttgart today to pull all three points in Potsdam and to take the top of the table before Schwerin and Dresden. Because we can be pretty sure to get another three points at home from the out-of-shape Vislbiburg, the big match in Schwerin on second German Christmas holiday (Tuesday the 26. December) aired on TV station Sport1 will be very interesting. This time I will be viewing it (for the first time) life in the Palmberg hall, which is an enourmous voyage for...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "crovolley" Imoco won against Novara 3:2. Samanta was starter in 5th set and scored 11 points overall, and She was not starter. Nicoletti 10 points as stater, and Robin scored only 7 points and He still didn't want to try with Bricio-Hill-Fabris. MVP:Kim Hill 26 points... And in the table Conegliano is now before Novara (same match number). If Novara had won the tie-break, they would be still on top.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

So Schwerin managed to win in tie-break against Münster, but their lost point can have consequences: if Stuttgart wins tomorrow in Potsdam with three points (3 to 4 sets), they would take over the lead in the table (same number of matches of the three top teams by the way, so it counts really). If Stuttgart wins in tie-break, they would stay closely behind Schwerin (only worse set ratio) but before Dresden, and only if they lose they would only be third after this match day. So this match Potsda...

Quoted from "Matthias" Schwerin is down 0:2 at home against Münster And Dresden narrowly escaped being taken to tie-break by Aachen. And Stuttgart dropped again a set in Berlin against the VCO juniors, which I think of being embarassing. Should not happen to a top team.

Situation for Ekaterinburg became even more serious in the tough first round, because Jovana Brakocevic was hired by CSM Bukarest and is obviously already eligible to play for them in first round: http://www.cev.lu/Competition-Area/Compe…D=10578&ID=1037 (number 2).

Poland - Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2017/18

Quoted from "guilhermessartor" could someone post the stats? or where I find? http://pls-web.dataproject.com/MatchStat…ID=27336&Page=S[/quote] Very feeble statistics for Grot Budowlani: far too low attack efficiency, including the two most dangerous players Grobelna and Kakolewska (in sum just 31%), while LKS Comercecon had a very high value (49%).

Poland - Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2017/18

The Lodz city derby was relatively one-sided today: LKS Comercecon won easily in three sets against Grot Budowlani, despite the latter has the better known names. Anyway, in the table LKS was in front of Grot already before this match.

Quoted from "SHAME" Quoted from "StefanS" Greta Szakmary Who is she? It sounds like an hungarian name. Well, according to Google she's actually hungarian. Is she good? I expected something more than a stranger from a title contender, expecially when last season this team could bench someone like Ariel Turner. A friend of mine told me Carocci is playing a great season so far, even if she has to pass tons of balls, that's why I asked. Yes, Szakmary is an Hungarian national player and one of their...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

TV numbers are here: yesterday 150,000 spectators at average watched Dresden vs. Schwerin, the second highest number so far (and by far exceeding again any men's match until now) after Dresden vs. Stuttgart with 160,000 a few weeks ago. It was aired in Sport1 directly after a world championship match of German handball women (0.56 million) and later in parallel there was also on free TV men's CL soccer with German clubs (5.55 million at public TV station ZDF, about 1 hour after beginning of this...
