Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "beri" Istanbul is obv a very big metropolis with over 16 million people in it so it is as big as some countries anyway It has more people than Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina combined BTW, almost all Serbian players who have played there absolutely love it, Jelena Nikolić said it's the only place except for Belgrade where she could imagine herself settling down, Vesna Čitaković said it was the only place outside Serbia where she never felt like a foreigner, and so on. I ...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Modena is such a mess. WIth all their OHs, they're still starting with Montano, and she looks like she's mentally already retired. Although, not that Pietersen did much/any better, but at least she has the excuse of just having arrived. Bosetti sucked too. Barun is trying really hard, but she looks past it physcially, which is more than understandable at her age. On the other side, a shout-out to the young 19-year old MB Alexandra Botezat! Her blocking skills are exceptional and she has a mean s...

CEV Champions League 2018

I don't think the new club will be a powerhouse wherever they end up. The money just doesn't seem to be there anymore. The sister club Le Cannet just got a 6 point reduction for not paying its players.

CEV Champions League 2018

Meanwhile, Alba Blaj beat Developres 3-0 away and is now looking good to win their group. Amazing stats for Cleger - she must have certainly improved a lot compared to the previous match against Volero, where her performance was memorable mostly for her hilarious attempts at serving that made Anne Matthes' infamous ECh '11 final serve look like a technical masterpiece. I'm still annoyed Maritza vs Vizura was shown here instead of Fenerbahce vs Novara, which I was too lazy to search a stream for,...

CEV Champions League 2018

The stats for Sloetjes do look tragic. Still, it seems like the team had little problems recovering from whatever brainfart that caused them to lose the 2nd set. TV schedule for this week here in Serbia is horrendous, they're showing Serbian and Slovenian teams in CEV/Challenge cup instead of CL matches. And the only match they're going to broadcast tomorrow is Maritza vs Vizura

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "SHAME" Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Does Dinamo Moscow even have any foreigners in their club? I think Terzic is the only one. Alena Handzel Yurieva. Bielorussian MB. She acquired Russian citizenship and stopped playing on Belarusian NT a while ago. Terzić said he wanted to sign a foreign OH but there were none available on the market when he took over the team.

Volley Ball couple?

Perhaps it's common knowledge, but I wasn't aware that Atanasijević and Vasileva had more than just a summer fling - they're still together.

Poland - Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2017/18

Quoted from "Ttom" I dont know info but Lisinac is going to play in Italy too right? They both said they're ready to leave Poland and go to another country/league together. They didn't mention any specific details, though, and I didn't get the impression it's going to happen before the end of this season.

Serbian NT 2017

Tijana Bošković was declared the best young athlete of the year in Serbia (both male and female, across all sports) by the Serbian Olympic Committee. The volleyball team got the award as the best women's team of the year, of course.

Serbian NT 2017

Quoted from "serdar" Any idea on why Mina Tomiç naturalized to Crotian NT? I remember she was a very promising player in junior levels and she was playing in UKR for a long time. Now I saw her in Modena's roster as Crotian citizen I have no idea My best guess is that she has dual citizenship through her parents and that she's formally registered in Italy as a Croatian citizen because of taxes and such since Croatia is an EU member while Serbia isn't.

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

I'm really, really sorry it all had to end this way. Things got out of control and became very ugly when they really didn't need to. I'm also completely aware of my own contribution to this mess and I apologize for it. I also have to say that I'm going to miss Rdfabio. His contribution to this forum was big and all things considered, he made it a more interesting place. I still hope he will be back some day. And finally, let's just hope this was a lesson to everyone. We should all remember to ke...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "ST2008" Quoted from "Emil" If he doesn’t like her, it’s his preference, you can’t change it nor make the Chinese lady less good. Why care so much? I don’t follow Turkish league at all these days so I barely read this thread but I don’t want this forum to be full of ridiculously endless conflicts. If you like the Chinese, that’s good and everybody knows she’s a great player but it doesn’t mean everyone despeately MUST like her, it you see my point. Yeah... we should instead criticiz...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" I think her fans just don't appreciate it when SHAME wants her to receive 8 meters of court with perfect accuracy and still prefers Kosheleva as a better player when their roles in their teams are almost the same except with Zhu Ting more reliable as a receiver. But... so what? At the end of the day, it's just ONE person and what they think. I disagree with a ton of stuff Shame says, but he's perfectly entitled to his own opinion. And as long as he's not spammin...

There's a difference between praise and aggressively shoving down one's opinion down other people's throats (and just to be clear, I don't think you in particular are the one doing that). And that's all I have to say about that issue.

I don't think anyone here disagrees that she's a fantastic player. And she deserves all the praise that she gets. What we don't need to is to be aggressively convinced of her excellence time and again. Yes, she's great. WE GET IT. And no, it has nothing to do with her being Chinese, Asian, not American, not European or whatever.

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

I have a proposal for the admins of this forum: let's put a banner on top of each page that says "Zhu Ting is the greatest player that ever existed and she can do no wrong. Every day we thank all the supreme beings and deities that they enabled us to bask in her glorious presence on the volleyball court". So, that way we don't have to go through the same thing EVERY SINGLE TIME she plays a match. Or another player plays a match and someone dares suggest she played well. Because, obviously she co...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "USAvolleyfan" Of course Rasic is really important for Vakif.. even is she's not scoring as she used to (for whatever reason) she stills blocked great, and made some serving streaks... I'm wondering if maybe she's done too much physical damage to her body over the last year. She had not just one, but two rather serious injuries and both times she rushed into coming back without letting them heal properly. It's bound to leave a mark and I think she's still feeling the consequences, y...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "Matthias" Really not my sense of humour There are many of the league's best players and they could entertain the crowd with a nice match, but what they choose to do is playing nonsense like Leonardi as OH, Hill as setter, Ortolani as MB, De Kruijf as OPP Yeah, I tuned out when they started clowning around like that. It's a shame because the first set was played at a decent level (except for Carlini's laughable attempts to set to her MBs - kinda understandable in a situation like th...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

It's such a shame we didn't get to see at least one more set, the match was getting so exciting and entertaining! At least we were able to witness the epic Zhu Ting vs Bošković battle for a while and it was such fun There must be a reason why Tijana was used so sporadically in the first two sets and I hope everything is alright with her. It should also be noted that Rašić raised her level a lot as the match went on after a rather shaky start. She's a player that brings so much energy into her te...
