Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "JoanaBG" What the HELL happened there, anyway??! I read Novara lost the tie break after being 14-10!! And Bergamo at a certain point put Malagurski on the bench, Marcon in as OH and one between Acosta and Sylla as Opp, I think the first but I'm not sure. It clearly paid off Lee had her 'first time' in Superlega in Legnano-Conegliano Funny thing is that she scored the first (I think) ball she touched... with a free-ball pass 2 meters too long that felt in the other court Genius!! Le...

Quoted from "crovolley" and Bergamo beats Busto. After losing 2-0... Congrats Bergamo! I usually find myself cheering for Busto this year, being so Italian and quite young too, but I always had a little thing for Bergamo and I'm very happy for Malinov

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "scarpetta" When Sander is playing, Christenson forgets even Sokolov Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Quoted from "scarpetta" In other news; Zenit Kazan wants to organize Final-Four. Let it happen CEV! They deserve it. It makes the most perfect sense. It was right time!! And it's a good new for everybody else as well: nobody will have to face them during the CL play off

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "scarpetta" This is a service fault by Christenson .What was referees thinking? You think? I got the impressione the yellow part on the tip of the shoes was above the line but didn't touch it: what matters is the sole (not sure it's the right word), I think...

So, Modena crushed Pesaro 3-0 with Mingardi titular along with C.Bosetti! And Filottrano was 2-0 vs Novara, now is 2-1 but Novara won the third only 26-24!

CEV Champions League 2018

Me neither!! [Edit: I thought you wrote you've never seen Kovar playing that badly a set, I agree on that, not on 'anybody' ] OMG what terrible mistake he did at 21-19, that became 22-19 from a possible 21-20... And the last point is the perfect synthesis of the set: Jiri blocked

CEV Champions League 2018

I started watched just in time to witness Kovar spiking out, spiking and be digged, and being blocked twice, all in a row. I'm Lube lucky charm, they said

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

In an amatorial competition I met a team that willingly used the Mikasa (unlike all the rest of us) to make the opponents struggle in reception... it was really hard to predict when the ball was going to fall, it often felt shorter than you would have expected.

Well, that does make sense to help the teams that play the European Cups. In fact few years ago the male Superlega switched to Mikasa for this reason. The bad thing is that Mikasa is a more difficult ball, so who knows what will happen with the general level of reception...

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

I thought about Averill too when I was writing my first post! I don't even recall who is the 4th OH, but the second opposite should be Tondo. But I barely saw him playing and I've no idea how he plays (and I think last year he played as MB?).

I don't know if Abdel Aziz is the one that chose to play minimizing the injury or if Giani is the one that forced/asked him to play. I simply read that 'he stayed on court'. Anyway, the MR showed there is a lesion of the abdominal muscles, but it doesn't specify anything about the severity of the lesion and the time required to recover. Do you think – in case he will be out – that Giani will use one of his OHs ad opposite?

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

No no, Pasini is the one that wrote Hoag had a phisical problem. I would think very less of Lorenzetti if he let Lanza play just because he pretended it. One thing is giving a chance/giving faith to someone, another one is not subbing a player who isn't playing well having a good subs.

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" However...I still felt let down by Lanza. 7 serve faults out of 13 and all the other mistakes he committed. Well, with the serve I lost my hopes. Last year he was getting a bit better at least in PalaTrento, this year he only has some rare good and short runs sometimes (like in the previous match). But this time he also struggled a lot in attack and did few silly/ crucial mistakes. And winning vs Lube without an opposite and with an underperforming OH is impossi...

Doesn't Italian women league plays with Molten (white-red-green, I love this ball) and men Italian Leauge plays with Mikasa (yellow-blue, which I hate)? May be I'm the one having this wrong... CEV and FIVB competition are played with Mikasa, anyway. Blue yellow or green-yellow. Togutt, I love Bianchini, I would love if she'll get a chance in the NT, at least during the new Gran Prix! I think Pietrini will be try there too, but probably not with the idea of using her in the WCh.

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

Quoted from "Kk15" About Hoag, the Trentino 'organized' fans ('curva' in Italian) said in a Facebook comment "Se Hoag non ha giocato c'è un motivo, e finché la società non lo farà, di sicuro non lo comunicheremo certo noi" = "if Hoag didn't play there's a reason, and until the society won't say it, we definitely won't do it either" Physical problems. Milano from 19-24 to 27-25 vs Ravenna! Here the video! And until the 25-25 there was just one direct error by Ravenna! https://youtu.be/LI7wMCjuwP...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "SHAME" About Abbott, she comes from a small university and she was a score machine. I always have some worries when it comes to passing because NCAA uses Molten balls, not those sucking Mikasa Italian Championship uses Molten as well... And Modena doesn't play in Europe, right? Quoted from "Toguttt" she knows the only way to be part of Italian NT is to become an OH. I haven't thought of this. I really hope Gennari will be back this summer, anyway: she seems the most complete to me ...

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

About Hoag, the Trentino 'organized' fans ('curva' in Italian) said in a Facebook comment "Se Hoag non ha giocato c'è un motivo, e finché la società non lo farà, di sicuro non lo comunicheremo certo noi" = "if Hoag didn't play there's a reason, and until the society won't say it, we definitely won't do it either" For the very first time I've seen them writing something truly harsh against the team (they 'saved' only Chiappa and Uros, and I would add Eder to be honest). They were very, very suppo...
