Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

And now after three set victory of Savino del Bene Scandicci against Il Bisonte Firenze they have the same number of wins as Igor Gorgonzola Novara and just three points less, but clearly ahead of Yamamay Busto Arsizio.

Azerbaijani Superleague???

Quoted from "StefanS" Due to https://www.scorespro.com/volleyball/aze…r-league-women/ they launched now with two (!) teams, i.e. Azerrail and Lokomotiv Baku, what is kind of a bad joke. At least nobody would seriously call this two teams setup a league... even former Rabita, later Telekom Baku vanished altogether! It seems to be the end of this superleague IMHO. Now two teams unknown to me were added with a first match against each other, as you can see under the mentioned link. Weird anyway co...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

So the three favourites took their three points: Dresden against Potsdam (in a kind of revenge, again four sets), Stuttgart in Aachen (after another dramatic fourth set, when they had to avert Aachens set ball) and Wiesbaden in three sets against Erfurt, likely the easiest task of the three teams today.

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

And Moscow won first set against no more good team Krasnodar just with 27:25 and even lost the second 20:25. Either they underestimated their opponent or were not playing with usual starting six or both.

Comparison of Strength of European Leagues

In an interview regarding going to a foreign league with Voleros professional team the club owner Stav Jacobi listed his personal list of stronger leagues than the swiss one: Turkish, Italian, Russian, Polish, French, Romanian, and German I think, the first three we could easily agree about. But I'm very surprised, that he sees Germany only as seventh - most would see it as third or fourth (at least) strongest. And Romania has overtaken France now, which will be reflected in next European cups r...

Comparison of Strength of European Leagues

Quoted from "pamphleteer" Looks like good news from the (above mentioned) Romanian League: http://frv-web.dataproject.com/Competiti…px?ID=10&PID=15 Last season this site only showed the "scoresheet" but now apparently also the match stats. Would be really nice. This is really useful.

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "SHAME" Quoted from "Kk15" Well, that does make sense to help the teams that play the European Cups. In fact few years ago the male Superlega switched to Mikasa for this reason. The bad thing is that Mikasa is a more difficult ball, so who knows what will happen with the general level of reception... The last year I played volleyball I found this very good team and moved there. I changed league from a region to another. Every single team in this new league played with mikasa and It ...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "Kk15" Doesn't Italian women league plays with Molten (white-red-green, I love this ball) and men Italian Leauge plays with Mikasa (yellow-blue, which I hate)? May be I'm the one having this wrong... CEV and FIVB competition are played with Mikasa, anyway. Blue yellow or green-yellow. Togutt, I love Bianchini, I would love if she'll get a chance in the NT, at least during the new Gran Prix! I think Pietrini will be try there too, but probably not with the idea of using her in the WC...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

There is a number of reasons, why we have relatively few domestic players in the league. Some of them DVV and VBL can influence, others not. DVV sports director Christian Dünnes (until last season professionell player in the men's Bundesliga) stated, this league is the fourth best in Europe currently (Poland has weakened considerably the last few years, while this one strengthened or kept level in this time). Also Russia is definitely still better than us, against at least Kazan and Moscow our b...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "phoenix1" Quoted from "StefanS" Some newspapers refer to a planned quota for German players currently: any source? It is announced in the VBL master plan (long version) and sometimes referred to like in this article from Berlin: https://www.morgenpost.de/sport/br-volle…eys-werden.html In the master plan the 30. June 2018 is mentioned as publishing date for the new rules regarding domestic players (it would be illegal due to Bosman sentence to directly limit (EU) foreigners). Becaus...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Some newspapers refer to a planned quota for German players currently: for example Suhl would become immediately illegal when introduced, because there is currently NONE German player in the available roster (Claudia Steger, the German captain, is out for the whole season due to injury), i.e. they would get no license for the first league anymore at all. This is an old issue especially with Suhl, where hardly ever more than 2 Germans were in its roster. But also for Stuttgart this would be trick...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Matthias" Remember that due to VBL's wild card it doesn't necessarily have to be a club that is currently in 1st league, they might as well buy some small team and make big investments or try a similar project like Hypo Tirol in men's league. But I am pretty sure it will be Le Cannet. They already are SB Community's team in France. The question is how much French federation will like that, after all Le Cannet just got a punishment due to irregularities this season. The existence of...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "Matthias" Quoted from "SHAME" Quoted from "crovolley" I don't know how much is volleyball popular in France, but I know that German fans would be more than happy if Volero would come to play their. Their venues are always full. I think players would be very happy to play their.... Imagine to have great team as Volero in Germany, they could easily play in huge venues with 10k capacity. I disagree. Me too. A SB Community team is the very last thing I want in our league If Stuttgart r...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "saishuu" Just when French championship stopped being so one-sided... Yes, if Volero Le Cannet comes into reality, they will rule like Cannes did until a few years ago. But this can also happen to German Bundesliga instead, because there are also negotiations with a club there, most likely with vice champion Stuttgart.

France - Ligue Nationale de volley 2016-2017

Quoted from "le coq gaulois" a huge change is gonna come for our league in 2018/2019 , even if things start since this summer : https://www.volleyball.ch/fr/swiss-volle…ocalisee-11611/ While Le Cannet seems to have the biggest chance for this Volero enterprise, Jacobi is also negotiating with a club from the even stronger Bundesliga/Germany, very likely with vice champions Stuttgart. So let us wait, what Mr. Swiss volleyball decides...

Quoted from "serdar" Eczacıbaşı will play against all the few strong teams in this cup: Busto-Krasnoyarsk-Pomı-Uralochka I think this is okay for the clear-cut favourite of this competition .
