CEV Champions League 2018

Skorupa has a lot of skill but her decisions are terrible. If she was a young player I would think she had great talent but she is experienced and still makes so many bad choices.

Logan Tom & Destinee Hooker - What Went Wrong?

Well Hooker got pregnant and Tom got injured. After these events I don’t think either player has shown their best performance at club level. Hooker is still arguably USA’s best OPP but Karch doesn’t like her because he doesn’t think she fits the way he wants the team to play. I haven’t seen Logan play recently but she is 36 years old and her attacking ability had declined even by 2012 so I expect it will be even worse in 2018. She was a great player of course, but I don’t think she’d help the cu...

Serbian NT 2017

Quoted from "sitenoise" Forgive me a moment of which I hope you are able to read as sincere. I don't watch much Euro-volleyball but I really admire and appreciate that Serbia sits atop the volleyball world. It's a cool story. I'm new to the volleyball thing and occasionally at cocktail parties and such I will mention my newfound passion. It breaks my heart that the one and only thing* most people know about women's indoor volleyball is that picture the Serbian team took when they qualified for ...

I agree Naz is their best option but if Gamze or even Ezgi for example was their setter then IMO they would still be the best team. A foreign setter would disrupt the team too much and even though I prefer to watch players like Ognjenovic and Tomkom they are not significantly better than Naz - so really why would Vakifbank want to change?

I was not just talking about this particular debate, people are often saying Naz is a weakness for Vakif which I just don’t agree with at all. I don’t think Turkish setters could do any better than her, though they would still be the best team with certain other setters as well. The point is there is no reason for Vakif to replace her and no reason for her to want to leave (unless she gets pregnant) so she will still be a Vakif player for years to come IMO.

I think Naz is a great setter and find it odd when some people say she is bad for Vakif. But I also think that she is just one reason VB are better than FB and ECZ. Vakif have all the best local players with the exception of Eda. Beyza and Meliha are good players but not elite level and Busra and Simge are also not that good. For Fener, yes Eda is elite but Dicle Nur and Bahar are not at that level, neither are their liberos and neither is Polen/Cagla. However Kubra, Gozde and Naz are all excell...

Well i’ll miss Fabio. It was always interesting when he got involved in a fight and he always had some comment to make even if I sometimes disagreed with him. Still, I get why he was banned it’s just a shame that it was over something as unimportant as this mild disagreement that spiralled out of control, particularly since he was not even the one who started it. Hopefully we can get back to volleyball at least now. Does anyone know when the league season will restart?

Of course you all have the right to like Zhu, it's just that some people are very aggressive about it as though it is their mission in life to prove that Zhu is the best when we all get it. I think Joana summed up my feelings pretty well

But who could get tired of hearing about Zhu Ting? She has a 95% efficiency rate and has won OG, WC, CL, CWCH. She has been MVP in 99 different competitions and I think she makes the Earth go round the Sun. Seriously, she's great and was amazing in the last match but you don't need to prove that to everyone, we know. If this is an attempt to make SHAME like her then you're wasting your time, SHAME can like whatever players he likes - it's not wrong for him to have different favourites.

I don't remember it exactly, but was he not just using Robinson to improve reception with Lonneke in the back row?

Very disappointing, but that last set was epic and awesome. Vakifbank were great and deserve the win so Honestly, Zhu killing high, awkward balls from behind the 3m line regularly is just insane Eczaci played OK in the 1st and 3rd set but the 2nd set was really bad.

Quoted from "beri" Maja makes her team desperate at times imo. At 14-15 f.e. Eczacibasi catched on with Vakifbank and needed a side out to which Maja chose to steal the show and tried a very bad and unnecessary attack which resulted in VakifBank opening the gap instead of setting to the reliable spiker she decided she wanted to steal the show. I see such things a lot with Maja actually and her setting preferences are odd at times. All this causes is too much unnecessary pressure on every single...

Boskovic still gets many balls, just not as many as in the past. I think Motta likes for all his players to get a lot of balls, unlike Barbolini who wanted Boskovic to get every ball. I agree that Boskovic is being underused, though as she is the only world class attacker in the team. Vakifbank's block is very impressive, much better than Vitra's. I'd like to see Guldeniz come on even though Meliha has done OK, I think better reception and a quicker game would really help today

Eczacibasi woke up and started playing again and that made GS panic and choke. Introducing Guldeniz helped change this game hugely. I always think she should get more chances to play and she did a good job here again

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

That's an absolute outrage! These players are contracted, surely Pomi has no right to suspend their salaries. It was obvious to me when I saw the rosters that this Pomi team would not be among the top teams in the league, if the president didn't realise that then it is his fault, not the players who are doing their best I'm sure.

CEV Champions League 2018

First I have to say Conegliano is playing very, very well. They serve very well, all attackers are contributing and Wolosz is distributing the ball very nicely. Novara so far have been terrible though. I think it's because they rely on too many unreliable players. Egonu is a great talent of course, but she is still a young girl and makes a lot of mistakes. Plak as well is quite an inconsistent player and Skorupa can be brilliant when she plays at her best, but other times she is just...
