Legendary Living Volleyball Players

Quoted from "Sidney" Quoted from "akitoakie" Yes, they did, including together in Fenerbahce. Both played in Italy for a few years too, in different teams. Fofão was a two time Italian league champion and a one-time CL champion in Perugia. She also played in Spain. Sokolova played in Bergamo. I think she won one Italian league and one CL there. She also played in Jesi. Wow, cant believe these legends were a team back then. It always amazes me when top tier players play in the same club. And I d...

Legendary Living Volleyball Players

Quoted from "Sidney" I've been watching volleyball regularly for more than 15 years now. Sokolova is the best player I've ever seen. Next would be Sheilla. As for setters, I would pick Fofão. Too bad I wasn't following back then during the hey day of Sokolova. But I love her tho since the moment I watch her (around 200. She has a very cool persona on court, quite the contrary of her Russian team mates. Sheilla is indeed the best female Opp I have ever seen. She does not only hit hard, but she i...

Legendary Living Volleyball Players

I started following international volleyball the moment Marieanne Steinbrecher -- with her beauty and ice cold persona -- helped Brazil won their first ever Olympic gold medal in Beijing. As time goes by, I learnt more and more about the world of volleyball. I just wanna know who do you guys think are considered as the living legends of volleyball? And why are they considered as legendary? Giba, Dante, Serginho, Mikhaylov, Fofao, Gamova, Sokolova, Ruiz, Kimura, Takeshita, Sano, Sheilla Castro, M...

Brazil NT 2018

With Felipe out, there is a huge gap on the OH position. We are left with Lucarelli (speedy recovery!), Douglas, and Mauricio. I wish the names you mentioned above will be given chance to show their ability.

Brazilian Superliga 2017-2018

Quoted from "saishuu" Douglas should be out? lol sure... Douglas was having an outstanding season in 2015-16 that's why he went to the Olympic. Last year and this year, I think he is still performing good although I don't really follow men's superliga anymore. How is he performing? Quoted from "Agguerro" I think Brazil will need to have 3 opposite players - one of them being Renan. He showed very good potential in their friendly series against the USA last year, although he then didnt play so w...

Brazilian NT 2018 - who deserves the spot?

Quoted from "saishuu" I'd go with: S: Roberta, Naiane, Dani Lins* OPP: Tandara, Edinara, Lorenne** OHs: Natália, Gabi, Rosamaria, Garay, Drussyla MBs: Bia, Thaísa, Adenízia, Carol L: Gabiru, Suelen *She'll get called either way. **Just for some experience. Players I'd like to see in a hypothetical B team: S: Ananda OPP: Bruna, Paula Borgo OHs: Amanda, Fernanda Tomé, Maira, Mari Paraíba MBs: Milka, Mayhara, Fran, Mara L: Dani Terra We had almost the same choice for every spot. And I do think Dan...

Brazilian NT 2018 - who deserves the spot?

I think the time has come for the new thread for a whole new year for the team. So far here is my list of deserving players: Setter 1. Roberta - 2017 has been a great year for her. 2. Naiane - talented & brave on court. OH 1. Natalia - basically the best OH Brazil has right now although she is underperforming in Fenerbahce. 2. Fe Garay - still lethal. but I don't know if she will be able to make it to Rio. the younger girls are catching up. 3. Gabi - Brazil's most stable attacker and hitter. Wit...

Douglas Souza is still performing quite good. He is still young. Having him in the NT consistently as starter will help him unleash his true potential.

I am nervous for Thaisa. I love her as a player although her attitude on court can be a little bit off-putting especially in Superliga. I am nervous to see her back. The thing with middle blocker is there are lots of lateral movements and jumping compared to outside or opposite. Wish her the best of luck. And can someone please tell Skowronska to tidy up her hair do. That granny hair style is unflattering.

Best Female Setters list. Do you agree?

#mce_temp_url# Do you agree with this list? Dijkema did better than Roberta on 2017? What a joke. Roberta helped the "rookie" NT to major titles last year, the same can't be said to the former. And what's with Zivkovic when you have Ana and Maja on the same team?

Brazilian League 2017/2018

Quoted from "saishuu" Ana Tiemi in the NT is never gonna happen. I don't have anything against her, but she can't perform well even in mid-range Brazilian teams. Not sure about Gabi's jump height, but it's been what, 2 or 3 games since she came back full time? It'll probably take quite a while for her to regain her best shape. Hopefully. She is still an excellent receiver and still can score. I hope she can gain her momentum back asap. And when is Thaisa going to play tho? I don't understand hi...

It seems like Gabi lost her jump height for spiking. Is she still recovering or is it some psychological issue? Mayhara is developing more and more and I love her.

I think Natalia is going to move to another club. She was successful last season with Fenerbahce but this season? Not so much. Having her and Gabi again on court for Sesc will be a dream come true but I think it will not be the case. Natalia might go play in Italy because she is at that level. Btw, where is that setter that went to Olympic in London by a free ride? The one that made Fabiola lost her spot when she deserved it the most coz I think the backup setter spot in Rio belongs to Roberta.

Brazilian League 2017/2018

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" I have a question to ask and answer with everyone about the 7 point ranked players in Brazil.... 1. So who are they? I know Fabiana, Thaisa,Sheilla, Jaque, Tandara, Natalia and Dani Lins are. Should anyone care to add the whole list? 2. Who among them do you consider the players that still feels like a 7-point ranked player? In my opinion Jaque is nowhere close to the same player she once was. Sheilla is a mystery. Fabiana can be inconsistent. Thaisa is still re...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

What happened to FB anyway? They go from winning 3 major cups last season to being one of the worst performing clubs among the big 3 (in fact might be the worst tbh). I think KYK is definitely missed on court. She provides stability and she really go all out when she is needed the most. Plus, having her on court makes Natalia's job to kill the ball so much better. Natalia is truly underperforming this season. The club might be scratching their head over the amount of salary they give her this se...
