CEV Cup 2018

Quoted from "Canter" is Krasnoyarsk a better team than Uralocka or not ? there is also Casalmaggiore It is hard to tell: after league round Krasnoyarsk was in Russia better than Ekaterinburg, but this can change in the playoffs, because the tendency of Krasnojarsk was more to weaken over the season opposed to Uralochka, which seems now to strengthen. Just wait, if favourites of Casalmaggiore win against Schwerin! This is absolutely not for granted IMHO, because they lack usual attacker power no...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "harboboy" Is Galatasaray for sure in the playoffs now? They post it on instagram that they made it, for example Neslihan. Yes they are, because Volero can't overtake them now anymore. Only the last of the four second placed teams fails.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Matthias" Alexander Waibl prematurely renewed his contract with Dresdner SC until 2021. He's their head coach since 2009, so by far the longest time on bench of all 1st league teams at the moment. One might question this deal, especially regarding the too feeble choice of OHs currently, which will leave the championsship finals forseeable to the much better selected teams on this positions of Stuttgart and Schwerin - doesn't he recognize, that they lack quality on this position cur...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Erfurt is now discussing, if they should retreat their team from first league (!). They are well aware, that there is likely no need for this due to the circumstances (there are currently just 10 professional teams and at most two seem to want a first league license additionally, so the desired number of 12 can be only afforded with Erfurt), despite they are for sure the team on the 10th and last, nominal relegation position. They talk to their sponsors, if they want to finance further this adve...

Poland - Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2017/18

Wow, LKS Commercecon Lodz hardly won in Legionowo: the hosts were even 10:7 up in tie-break, but the favourites from Lodz won at the end 13:15. Remember, Legionowo is only 11th, while this (better) Lodz team is still second behind defending champions Chemik Police and lead the league a considerable time this season.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "Canter" oh..i remembed it wrong. thanx..i remember they had won against Schwerin but what match was it cup match or championship ? the status of finals was best of 3 in German championship ? Allianz MTV Stuttgart won in total three times the national DVV cup finals (2011, 2015 and 2017, that last time against Schwerin) and once the supercup so far (2016 against Dresden).

Quoted from "Canter" which team do you think will be the champion ? could Stuttgart be succesful in getting the title again? Oh, Allianz MTV Stuttgart was NEVER German champion and Schwerin is defending and record champion (11 times). But this time Stuttgart has pretty good chances because of the strong league round and roster. Stuttgart was the last three years vice champion, twice behind Dresden, and last time behind Schwerin. Don't confuse with three times champions (before uniting both Germ...

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Now race for the best places for the playoff gets into the final phase, the top three teams have now 2 remaining matches each. Stuttgart was very impressive today, they exerted too much pressue on Potsdam, what lead to a quick three set victory. Schwerin was not at its best, but took also in three sets the victory from Münster. Now Stuttgart leads with four points more and 16 wins before Schwerin with 15 wins as well as Dresden, but Dresden has even one point less. Wiesbaden used the chance agai...

Quoted from "usantvolleyball" Any news on whether Melissa Vargas has actually reported to Dynamo Moscow as previously reported or just another rumor? At least she is not listed on CEV website (yet?): http://www.cev.lu/Competition-Area/Compe…D=10632&ID=1036 And she doesn't appear (yet?) also on Moscows website: http://vldinamo.ru/players/

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Quoted from "Matthias" Does Zarechie not feed their players?? Some of the girls (Bogdanova, Russu, Yurinskaya) look almost anorectic and even Pankova is a lot less chubby than she used to be I also recognized the physically weak appearance of Odintsovo players. The players of Ekaterinburg were athletically obviously stronger. But it is not known, that Odintsovo has financial issus, so with the Russia typical salaries they should easily afford two warm meals per day .

This confirms, that Vilsiburgs reception is still vulnerable, so strong serving teams can serve them at at times off court.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "flyingdutchman" Quoted from "StefanS" The both most interesting matches today are supposed to be: Wiesbaden vs. Vilsbiburg and Dresden vs. Aachen. The first one is difficult to predict, despite Wiesbaden is the favourite at home; the second has an interesting tone, because Aachens head coach Saskia van Hintum aggressively pushed to get points out of the Margon hall. IMHO this is highly unlikely, because the home advantage of Dresden is alway huge (compare the matches there with the...

A little lucky tie-break win for Yenisey Krasnoyarsk against Proton Balakovo Saratov: 15:13, but one fast attack by Efimova was so close to the line, that it was nearly impossible to tell even in the video challenge, if the deformed contact area of the ball touched the side line - the point was attributed to Krasnoyarsk anyway. After this match chances are not bad, that Proton will level with the second match, being a strong team especially at home.

Low TV numbers of Schwerin vs. Dresden yesterday: because the men's basketball match before also isn't visible in the top three, this may be more due to parallel CL soccer match in big public TV station. The spectators in hall: 2.000 (hardly fitting in, completely sold out) and below 120.000 at Sport1 TV.
