Japanese NT 2018

There was this report (lol) at World of Volley Web site: "After the attack in the second set when the result was tight (24-23 for NEC), she twisted her ankle and fell. We hope that injury is not serious." I've watched that video (from Miyashita's Instagram?) many times trying to see what happened ... and can't. I guess I'm conditioned to looking for someone landing on another player's foot, and twisting their ankle. In the interest of pure research I just read the Wiki page on ACL injuries It ap...

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "byteme25" That's a total shame. Loved to see Nagaoka playing on court. I guess its hard for players with short height when they injure their cruciate ligament. I guess I'm sort of glad to see that Araki's off the list. It's time that younger players get a chance to play in her position. I read here somewhere earlier that Nagaoka's injury was to her ankle. Do you have other information? I had assumed it was an injury to her knee because of how long she's been out (along with the not...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "maeloveyang" you can see zhu how to make a change when last year in tie match with nethrland and brasil.14:10 and 10:5.then china can win.its very valuable Way off topic here, but that particular match (the end of it) is near and dear to my heart. I use it to show people who don't follow the game how fun volleyball can be, to create converts to the game. I begin by telling them "most people will comment on how Zhu Ting won the game". Then I explain to them that a lot of players wil...

Quoted from "beri" Am I the only one in here that doesn't find the players looking 'tired' imo it is just a big match and nerves may play a role I thought tired might have explained the service errors in the first set, but big match nerves could also explain it. btw - I like that Dutch girl but she has an odd swing

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "jetmasters" She went up against Zhu in that game. Good to hear from her again after all these years. That was before my time so I went and watched it ... probably one of the most lopsided volleyball games I've ever seen. A bunch of big people beating up on a bunch of little people lol. Japan made them work for a few points but for the most part it was like they were playing against a men's team. The first point of the game it took Zhu three swings to land one and even it was dug, b...

Quoted from "jetmasters" Any new prospects to watch for? Thanks. Yuka Imamura (OH) Aika AKUTAGAWA. (MB) Fact. Arisa Inoue (OH) Quoted from "sitenoise" Aika AKUTAGAWA. Fact. I've been singing her praises all season. She and OKUMURA are the shortest MBs, but they are also the fastest. Aika Rocks! I really really really hope she gets playing time on an international stage. All my ribbing JT about choking didn't apply to her. We'll see. My fingers are crossed. Quoted from "sitenoise" I'm really hap...

Japanese NT 2018

I think it's true they can change the roster for each round? That's what happened at last year's WGP. Erika Araki is probably just resting. She's clearly Japan's best MB. I'm really happy to see Aika Akutagawa (JT) get a taste of international competition against tall players. My fingers are crossed for her. It's a big step. My hope/guess is that she excels more as a scorer than a blocker. She's pretty quick. But she's a little young and goofy, which brings life to the court, which helped JT ......

Chinese Female Superleague 2017/2018 [Oct.28 - Apr.XX]

Quoted from "tomen" Live Streams of the All-Star Game My gosh. I just google-tubed and found this 1080p stream from New China TV: It has this tagline underneath it (presumably as part of the fight against Fake News) CNC is funded in whole or in part by the Chinese government Wikipedia Anyway, I just started watching and thought I'd post it in case it gets taken down and others want to enjoy. It's like the freaking Olympics in terms of staging and whatnot! It has (Chi)nglish commentary! WTF? The...

Chinese Female Superleague 2017/2018 [Oct.28 - Apr.XX]

Zhang Chang-ning is injured too much for such a youngster. Worries me because I like her a lot. Yan Ni's been living in a tourniquet for years. It's hard to believe she perseveres. I love her to death and hope she keeps playing. She seems like one of a very few Chinese players exempt from Zhu Ting's disrespect.
