Chinese Male Superleague 2017/2018 [Nov.5 - Apr.XX]

Michal Kubiak appears to be loaned to Beijing for the Final. I've looked on the V.League's page and the Panasonic Panthers page and he is still on those pages.

Japanese NT 2018

Use the term kill percentage for the stats you are showing. Take out the hitting errors in the column next to kills and then divide by total swings for hitting percentage. Imamura basically was interchangeable for Nomoto. If you put her on a team like Hitachi, I don’t think her numbers would be as good. Just my opinion. She is essentially playing with the national team on Hisamitsu. Reception numbers are low but I think that she is playing as opposite/passer. Hisamitsu can swap positions between...

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Quoted from "sitenoise" Quoted from "brahmin" Ohbayashi was on the right, but it is Tominaga Cool! Thanks She must have been a special guest for the Final. Leaves me in the dark as to who was commentating all season with Ohbayashi. Whomever it was really added to my enjoyment of the games. Ohbayashi usually only gets called up for the bigger tournaments. This match was on NHK and not the normal broadcast channel Gaora (Cable) and DAZN (onlline only).

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Quoted from "sitenoise" These are the two women who have brought me much joy in commentating the V.League matches. The woman on the right is, I believe, Motoko Obayashi. The woman on the left looks a bit like Koyomi Tominaga (but it's not). Ohbayashi was on the right, but it is Tominaga. I saw the note on the video in Japanese. Ohbayashi is basically the women’s voice of Japanese volleyball any time anywhere. I have not seen a reason for Inoue being replaced on the all-star team.

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

There are two games for each sex in the All-Star Games. One is the Premier League (top level) and then one for the Challenge League I & II (second and third divisions). With Miyashita's team in the second division, that is why her picture was put on the webpage. Miyashita for the women actually had the highest votes in all divisions, while Kurihara was top in the women's Premier League. I wrote the article about the top division because if people are following the lower divisions outside of Japa...

Japanese NT 2018

Ebata had an injury that kept her out of 2014. He wanted her but she wasn’t physically up to it. Since then she’s been on the outside looking in. As an opposite, she really really never passed in Japan. In France, the shifted to an outside hitter with passing, but usually was not a starter.

Japanese NT 2018

Ohtake had a knee injury as has been working her way back from that. Miyashita cried tears last year as the Seagulls dropped to the second level. Team won the second level and will be in the new version of the V. league top level. Horikawa is left handed and that will keep her on the squad or at least the large roster. Sakoda retired last year and has already started broadcasting high school matches. Kurogo is expected to be the next big star, but still has a ways to go. Might get some time in V...

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Quoted from "sitenoise" Quoted from "Canter" i know you are new to the japanese league but...Hisamitsu vs.Toyota is going to be played over best of 3 ? No, and this why I think the notion of "Final 3" is silly and confusing--at least for this american who's never experienced a Round Robin sports tournament before trying to understand volleyball, but I digress. Hisamitsu will play TWO matches against Toyota this weekend. Only MATCH wins count. So WTF if Hisamitsu wins one and Toyota wins one? We...

Is a 3rd Meter pipe possible?

The ball will travel 4 m in the air from 1 cm above the net (at the net, plus ball diameter 21cm) to 1 cm in side 3 meter line (the floor). Ball to be hit with a 48.45 degree angle or less to land at 41.55 degree angle. This is or course hitting at 90 degrees on top of the net. But move the ball away from the net at the same angle to find a height that is possible. 25 cm away from net means ball is hit at 2.87 meters 50 cm away from net means ball is hit at 3.09 meters 100 cm away from net means...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

There is a reason that there is a complete roster of players listed for the tournament. Coaches will give some players a break during one of the weekends. One of the complaints with the World League and World Grand Prix was that you couldn't see all of the stars. With six weeks of travel all across the planet, you can't have all of the stars make each trip. That is why the FIVB now forces teams to release lists of players for each week of matches. Coaches will want to test their younger players ...

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Sure NEC has a mathematical chance, but they would have to win six straight matches (okay technically only 4 wins+1 set twice at worst), plus get a little help just to even make the Final 6. If Toyota wins on Saturday, Denso must match or at least win to keep this thing alive. A Toray win in 5 with a Toyota win in <5 sets puts the Queenseis in the Final 3.

Is a 3rd Meter pipe possible?

The hardest part is where the spike is coming from in the distance from the net. If the ball is too close to the net, then it can be roofed easily. So that distance will prevent a ball landing inside the 3 meter line.
