Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "FAME" Swedish TV visiting Isabelle Haak in Italy: https://www.svt.se/sport/volleyboll/drot…rige-i-florens/ Very interesting interview with Haak although a bit unfortuate and perhaps a little bit inappropriate to put it here since most content is not comprehensible for non-swedish users. However to translate perhaps the most exciting part for the users, the one regarding where she wants to play after her contract with Scandicci becomes resolved after next season, she mentions Turkey...

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Proton Saratov defeated Odintsovo. I did say Odintsovo can be quite predictable and they also had some problems with the pass which smaller teams could exploit. Unfortunately...my review is quite limited. The match bored me to death that I can only watch one and a half set while having to check my phone quite a lot because the game did not hold my interest. I'm just curious about the defeat. Saratov did beat Dinamo Moscow but at least that match went to a tiebre...

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Ekaterina Polyakova from Leningradka St. Petersburg did something truly remarkable yesterday against Dinamo Krasnodar, where her team lost two sets to three, when she achieved a perfect spike ratio, 100% success rate, in 16 attempts; 16 from 16 and on top of that she had six kill blocks and one ace for a total of 23 points. Not bad for a middle blocker.

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "Umu11" Quoted from "JoanaBG" I don't think the new club will be a powerhouse wherever they end up. The money just doesn't seem to be there anymore. The sister club Le Cannet just got a 6 point reduction for not paying its players. It was said that he had serious health issues and won’t be investing as he used to. Russian Superleague 2017/2018

Great win for Moscow of course, but Berezhko had to go off the court in the second set because of an injury. I dont know about the seriousness though. Grozer did not play for Novosibirsk against Yaroslavl, anybody knows if he is injured again or just a security measure due to some exhaustion/fatigue or so?

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

I can add something here. When Pavan played for Nebraska in the college league, NCAA, she was in deep water for some personal conflicts too. Following was written in the newspaper Daily Nebraskan in 2008: "Pavan told the magazine that conflict existed within the Husker volleyball team, that she felt enormous pressure under the Nebraska volleyball spotlight and that jealousy (other girls being jealous of her) and confusion about her identity strained relationships with teammates and coaches". And...

CEV Cup 2018

Some truly amazing serves for sure from Brakocevic, but their game is awfully predictible, putting virtually all balls to Brakocevic now in the third and she has started to get blocked down A LOT...its rare to see any player getting blocked down so many times in a set as her in set 4 here. I have lost the count personally.

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "inc0gnito" Quoted from "hakin12" Quoted from "Matthias" Quoted from "inc0gnito" I thought the same while watching. But I do not think Natasha is in perfect shape mentally. She lives like a vampire, often goes to bed for sleep like 3-4 am in the morning, and at least from what I have heard, has no real friend in life at all, and very poor connection with her team mates from a friendship point of view, regardless what some pictures on social media might suggest. She had one "friend" ...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "crovolley" Quoted from "hakin12" Quoted from "crovolley" If I'm not wrong. Someone already said that her salary is around 1M$. Ofc She would play abroad if this is not true. She is great player and every top team would like to have her in their team. I'm not surprised with this win of Galatasaray. Dinamo Moscow is noting special to me. They have only 1 or 2 very good attacker. This seems not so likely. I do not think anybody said it. Pankov talked about salaries in an interview cou...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "Matthias" Quoted from "inc0gnito" I hope some big Turkish team gets Goncharova next season, she won't grow if she stays in Russia. Imagine if she were to play in Fener or Vakif, in my opinion she is the second best opposite after Boskovic. She's not exactly promoting herself too well today though I thought the same while watching. But I do not think Natasha is in perfect shape mentally. She lives like a vampire, often goes to bed for sleep like 3-4 am in the morning, and at least f...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "crovolley" I think I wrote this when new season started. When everyone was WOW with Isabella Haak, and I said We need to wait how She is gone play when other teams got to know her and I was right. She is great player and She will be amazing player (I hope so, I like her), but her performance is dropping. Now her attack is around 30% and I said if She keeps attacking with 50% She will be new Egonu, Boskovic but now that is not the case. Egonu is younger and She played with much weak...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

The most bizarre thing so far this season must be the fact Haak not only is the best blocker and the best server among all OH/OPPs in the league, but also is the only one among the top-30 scorers who has not been blocked one single time so far combined with only eight errors in four matches (Egonu has 23 errors for ex). Just compare with Egonu, they have both scored over 20 pts per game, but while Egonu has been either blocked down or made an error 31 times Haak has only eight to account for in ...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Isabelle Haak acctually has not even been blocked one single time in the first three matches, which is very impressive considering the number of spiking attempts. In parallell, for example take Katarina Barun, she has been blocked a total of 11 times in her first three games. By the way, when Haak played in France I noticed a distinct pattern for her to be clearly better in terms of points produced and efficiacy while playing home than away. Maybe she is overtly restrained/hesitated and therefor...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Quoted from "rbdfabio" Quoted from "hakin12" De La Cruz is listed as being born in 1989 @ Legavolleyfem, is it correct? According to FIVB she is born 1987 + she was not playing for Scandicci in the friendly tournament previous weekend, anyboy knows when she is supposed to arrive or if she has arrived already? Personally I do not see much need for her in Scandicci, since the attack space is so widely covered by Haak already and the same goes for the defensive and technical aspects, where she pro...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

There are plenty of examples of great, competitive world-class players with only around 180 cm of height at that position, so could be just fine. Fe Garay, Gabi Guimaeres, Ksenia Parubets, Valentina Tirozzi, Antonella Del Core, Werblinska, Grothues-Balkenstein, Gözde etc.
