Comparison of Strength of European Leagues

Quoted from "Dillio" Quoted from "StefanS" In an interview regarding going to a foreign league with Voleros professional team the club owner Stav Jacobi listed his personal list of stronger leagues than the swiss one: Turkish, Italian, Russian, Polish, French, Romanian, and German "Fun" fact I just heared from a swiss friend: After Sm'Aesch-Pfeffingen won the first game in the Finals (3:1) and was about to maybe get the 4th set in Zurich what would have meant a Tie-Break, Jacobi ordered the Coa...

Italy - Serie A1 2017/18

Congrats Busto. Among the semifinalists they're the team i like the most, but are also clearly the underdogs, i guess.

Pesaro showed decent resistance yesterday. Watching Aelbrecht's enthusiasm always puts a smile on my face. Also liked Cambi.

2018 CEV Challenge Cup

Olympiacos seems to have a good team spirit, yes. Also quite a bit of continuity in their starting line-up and coaching, looks like they "only" changed their foreign OH duo before the season (and Poll and Niemer both seem to do fine). Also the slide attacks with Lamprousi are very nice to watch. Good serving is also a very important part of their success, IMO.

2018 CEV Challenge Cup

Krasnodar (with Sokolova) was ahead with 8-3 (?) in the tie-break but Olympiacos could close the gap with Hippe serving and eventually prevail. Should be an interesting 2nd match.

Poland - Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2017/18

Quoted from "StefanS" Quoted from "FAME" Pity that Muhlsteinova got injured yesterday. In the other semi: Radom eliminated but showed quite good resistance vs. Grot Budowlani (at least during the little while i was able to watch). The stream requires flash, which is far too dangerous to use nowadays and is correctly not installed respective forbidden on many systems... OK, thanks for the warning, Stefan.

Spain - Superliga 2017/2018

The 2nd semifinal was quite a nailbiter to watch at the end, when Fachadas could close the gap with like 4 blocks in a row, but Arona could pull it through eventually. The Arona team looked sooo happy afterwards . I hope they're not too tired, should be a good fight with Logrono today.

Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "StefanS" Quoted from "Matthias" Alexander Waibl prematurely renewed his contract with Dresdner SC until 2021. He's their head coach since 2009, so by far the longest time on bench of all 1st league teams at the moment. One might question this deal, especially regarding the too feeble choice of OHs currently, which will leave the championsship finals forseeable to the much better selected teams on this positions of Stuttgart and Schwerin - doesn't he recognize, that they lack qualit...

CEV Champions League 2018

Quoted from "deian1302" Good Job Maritsa. I'm vey happy because you deserve this moment. Very good game by all our players especially from Kitipova, Nasya Dimitrova and of course Kremena Kamenova. In comparison with other clubs, they also do a good job on twitter (and deserve more follower), IMO.

CEV Champions League 2018

Looking forward to the last match of the round on Wednesday. I hope Salo can show a nice home performance . Judging from the 1st match stats, Noora Kosonen (who played well in the NT this summer) had a lot to do in reception and the attack relied more on the two youngsters Laak and Heikkiniemi.

Comparison of Strength of European Leagues

Looks like good news from the (above mentioned) Romanian League: http://frv-web.dataproject.com/Competiti…px?ID=10&PID=15 Last season this site only showed the "scoresheet" but now apparently also the match stats. Would be really nice. For those interested in Swiss League stats, there's a way to see them online: Use the link below and change the number at the end of the URL. For example most match stats sheets for the 2017/2018 season can be found with URL-endings somewhere between "2288" and "2...
