Inoue, Imamura, and Brenda Castillo

I've been looking for opportunities to see Arisa Inoue play and came across a 2014 Montreux Volley Masters game JPN v DOM. I had downloaded it from YouTube at some point--can't find it online any more to share. I had no idea that both Inoue and Yuka Imamura have already played for the Japanese NT (albeit at Montreux). Imamura was high scorer in the game. I watched Imamura all season long but this is only the second opportunity I've had to see Inoue play. They both started and pretty much played ...

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "Canter" right.that is valid for many languages..Polish ,Dutch ,Russian and the others btw did i say that i like Japanese female names a lot they are so nice How do you pronounciate "Buijs"? I'm sticking with "Zhu" as more closely like "chew"--which kind of has a "T" sound in it, not the French way of zzhhew, like most people say Bei-Zhing instead of Bei-Jing The thing about Japanese pronounciations that I find interesting is that, in a three syllable name, english speakers accent t...

I'd like to see more service errors in this game! I like #4 in white shirt. She seems goofy and I like goofy.

Quoted from "leo2017" Quoted from "Sisko95" I'll be honest and say Eczacibasi are playing terrible volleyball so far. Nothing like the last 2 matches. Boskovic plays like last game's zhuting. She is in mess till now. When it comes to the champion point, the psychological factor plays heavily, it affects the performance! Boskovic often looks scared, to me.

Japanese NT 2018

I'm starting a rumor that Arisa Sato is going to retire. It's the only explanation. I also predict that Arisa Inoue is going to be one of the stars of the VNL along with Sarina Koga who is going to finally wake up and smell the coffee. You heard it here first.

FIVB Team roster for the VNL cut down to 26 from the original 29 eliminates: ARATANI, Shiori (OH, NEC) NAKAGAWA, Yumi (Libero, Toray) NAKAGAWA, Miyu (OH, ???) People gotta be cut, nothing to do about it. Shed a tear and move on.

Foluke had a great time this past season--you could see it on her face-- playing alongside really good players, won a title, and enjoyed great food. A lot. I bet she does it again.

Japanese NT 2018

There was this report (lol) at World of Volley Web site: "After the attack in the second set when the result was tight (24-23 for NEC), she twisted her ankle and fell. We hope that injury is not serious." I've watched that video (from Miyashita's Instagram?) many times trying to see what happened ... and can't. I guess I'm conditioned to looking for someone landing on another player's foot, and twisting their ankle. In the interest of pure research I just read the Wiki page on ACL injuries It ap...

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "byteme25" That's a total shame. Loved to see Nagaoka playing on court. I guess its hard for players with short height when they injure their cruciate ligament. I guess I'm sort of glad to see that Araki's off the list. It's time that younger players get a chance to play in her position. I read here somewhere earlier that Nagaoka's injury was to her ankle. Do you have other information? I had assumed it was an injury to her knee because of how long she's been out (along with the not...

Quoted from "maeloveyang" you can see zhu how to make a change when last year in tie match with nethrland and brasil.14:10 and 10:5.then china can win.its very valuable Way off topic here, but that particular match (the end of it) is near and dear to my heart. I use it to show people who don't follow the game how fun volleyball can be, to create converts to the game. I begin by telling them "most people will comment on how Zhu Ting won the game". Then I explain to them that a lot of players wil...

Quoted from "beri" Am I the only one in here that doesn't find the players looking 'tired' imo it is just a big match and nerves may play a role I thought tired might have explained the service errors in the first set, but big match nerves could also explain it. btw - I like that Dutch girl but she has an odd swing

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "jetmasters" She went up against Zhu in that game. Good to hear from her again after all these years. That was before my time so I went and watched it ... probably one of the most lopsided volleyball games I've ever seen. A bunch of big people beating up on a bunch of little people lol. Japan made them work for a few points but for the most part it was like they were playing against a men's team. The first point of the game it took Zhu three swings to land one and even it was dug, b...
