Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2017/2018

Quoted from "StefanS" I just discoverd an article regarding Schwerins Palmberg arena on NDR: https://www.ndr.de/sport/mehr_sport/Voll…bot,ssc668.html The hall is indeed too small and is lacking some functional areas, they might be not allowed to compete in European cups at all. Fire protection is nearly non-existant (in December I already thought, having some experience with it, this situation is not acceptable regarding protection against fire). Maybe they will also get no more TV matches in f...

Quoted from "Nirk" Wow, Cesar is 21 years old... Nice to see that OSP Stuttgart presents one of their talents now! But in the age of 21??? I don't think that Cesar will get the trust to be first Libero of Stuttgart in the next years. And Schwerin? Schölzel out, Krause out, Lohmann out... And Dresden? Petter out, Weitzel out, Maase out, Wezorke out in semi finals. It absolutely makes no sense for a german talent to join Dresden, Schwerin or Stuttgart before being one of the top prospects! Quoted...

Schwerin - Stuttgart 3:0 (25:22 25:21 26:24) http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2017-18/Women/2519.pdf MVP: Louisa Lippmann / Molly McCage (70% att, 7 blocks) I watched until the middle of 3rd set, but basically the story of the match was the same from beginning to end: Schwerin was the better team. Not by much as the set scores show, but it never felt like Stuttgart could win today. Looking at the stats one may think that they are the better blocking team, but if you take away McCage's points...

Molly McCage 5 blocks after 2 sets. Unfortunately that's not enough for Stuttgart so far because Schwerin as a whole is a bit better. Not by much, but enough to win the first 2 sets with 3-4 pts.

I think Pia Kästner plays better than Stoltenborg today (and also already in the 1st match), I hope the coach will have the guts to keep her on court Annie Cesar is such an instinctively good digger! If she can improve her reception (which isn't bad either) she can be the next libero of German NT. To me she looks much more promising than Pogany/Stock/Dreblow and this was just her first season in Bundesliga.

Quoted from "crovolley" Funny to say but both Robin and Folie got injured after attack because they moved to fast. So their something when you say that they got injured because of fast game. It's not completely wrong. The main risk for knee injuries is bad landing, mostly on just one leg and out of balance, and that is more likely to happen when you have little time for you movement. But Kosheleva and Bosetti blew up their knees on high balls, so it's for sure not mostly due to fast game.

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Toguttt" MONZA is going to sign Rachael Adams soon. Anne Buijs is very close too. Line-up: Hancock-Ortolani, Buijs-Begic, Adams-Melandri, Arcangeli. Any info about Hanna Orthmann? As far as I remember she signed a 1+1 year contract last year, but since it was mainly due to Pedulla that she went to Monza and he isn't staying there, I wonder what will happen to her...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Maren Fromm (Brinker) considers to retire from professional volleyball because the season in Canakkale was very frustrating for her. Also her husband had a negative experience in Turkish men's league and will definitely not return there, he wants to play in Italy or Poland. Maren says that currently she feels no passion for Volleyball, but she'll join NT anyway and might change her mind during the summer. The other option is to have a child and follow her husband wherever he'll play. Source

German NT 2018

NT training starts today and DVV still hasn't published a single word, but I managed to find the 26 player roster for VNL on FIVB website and it certainly contains some surprises However it's known that only 21 players will actually be in training, so some names on the roster are just there to have 26 players... S: Denise Hanke, Pia Kästner, Magdalena Gryka, Denise Imoudu OPP: Louisa Lippmann, Kimberly Drewniok OH: Maren Fromm, Jana Franziska Poll, Jennifer Geerties, Laura Emonts, Lena Stigrot, ...

I still see a very small part of the ball touching the line And experience with challenge system shows that rather often balls that seem more out are shown in by a few inches in the replay.

Turkey- VVSL-Vestel Venus Women's League 2017/2018

Quoted from "pope" U guys can say whatever about Rasic and Kubra....but those sets they are getting....are simply impossible to hit...Naz is the problem and not Rasic/Kubra. I agree that Naz played a quite poor match today, but at least as far as Kübra is concerned, I don't think she'd be doing much better with any other setter

Maja is playing pretty bad today. In the 1st set she had this "I want to play EXTRA spectacular" attitude but instead of extra spectacular she was only extra imprecise and she hasn't recovered from that...

Well, there have been two teams on the same level, but only one can win in volleyball, so of course the winner needs some "luck". I understand your frustration, but please don't make it sound as if Schwerin didn't deserve the win and got it only due to the referees.

Quoted from "StefanS" This was not a decision because of being better or not, but that service of Jelena Oluic was definiteley out, a decisively wrong decision by the referees - all viewers from different seat positions agreed on it. If the match had been in Schwerin, everyone would have agreed that the serve was in Watch the replay

Wow, Piccinini missing the serve at 13:14 It's the nightmare of every young player, but seeing this happen to such a veteran player is quite rare.
