2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "ossubtus" about JPN: i remember in 2014 WCh sakoda was very impressive. not tall but she could hit well from back court. too bad she didn't last in the NT. yes. saori sakoda. i remember her. her jump height is crazy for someone as petite as her. her back line attack was unstoppable. and when Japan play that weird rotation with her playing in the middle, she ruined a lot of the opponent's tempo.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Drussyla has so much help from her days playing beach volleyball. That is why her tips and attacking are so wonderful to watch at times. She knows how to send those balls to the hardest part of the court for the defender to reach.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "pope" I was gonna write that I don`t think Koga will get there as she`s 25 already.....but then I decided to check her age to make sure.....and she just turned 22 yesterday...Ok I guess there`s time still.. Hopefully Kurogo develops a bit quicker..... this road to Tokyo will be her ultimate test. hopefully she can step up and be the new Kimura that Japan sorely missed.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "sitenoise" Quoted from "akitoakie" I miss Kimura's presence on court. she has always been that calm queen that holds everyone together. What's interesting to me ... if you pay close attention to MB Nana Iwasaka, she's got a lot of Saori's "big smile-this is fun-I love you all" group hug action going on. I can see why she's picked as captain. She's just not a wing spiker who gets camera time and big adrenaline jumping around. It's subtle. I may have been mislead but I thought Koga w...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "sitenoise" Quoted from "Canter" what about your fav. players from Japanese league..are you happy with their perf. so far ? I'm suicidal re: Japan's performance. Koga had one good game. Horikawa (OP) has had a couple good sets. Yuki Ishii has had some good digs and kills but overall is way sub-par. I'm confident Libero Kitoe Inoue has a hidden injury somewhere because she's playing at about 65% capacity, and she's backed up by two other Liberos who've never played at international l...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

I think the biggest asset about Brazil is that they have the best team play I have seen so far on the tournament. Almost every single match, every single attacker come to play and scored double digits. Their opponent have no clue where the ball might go. They don't have the Zhu Ting or the Boskovic (well, Tandara is their main weapon but not to that extent). And I think much of it has to do with Roberta's brilliance. I've read here that some people think Roberta doesn't play with the middles a l...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Rains" Quoted from "Sidney" I doubt Sesc is able to pay Kosheleva . And Drussyla can't play as OPP, she can't hit from zone 2 properly. Neither can Kosheleva is better at 2. She's been known as stronger attacker at 4 and considering how small the opoosites in Brazil, I don't think it"s a bad idea to keep her in 4. I think Kosheleva should've gone to Brazil a long time ago. Such a missed opportunity for her. Almost every player I know who went to play for Brazil had a more successfu...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "pope" Maybe Kosheleva will play OPP. that will not be a bad idea, too. or Pena will play Opp since she had been playing sub-Opp in some of the matches. Or put Drussyla as receiving Opp. I don't know if Kosheleva will fit SESC-RJ style of playing fast ball since she prefers playing high ball, but nevertheless I am really excited to see her in Brazil. I love her spirit and her overall attitude on court.

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

is that rumor about Kosheleva on SESC RJ true? If it is, then Pena-Kosheleva is gonna be a monster duo, but who is going to receive? Gabi is not there anymore to stabilize the passing and Drussyla is a hit and miss. Playing with Koshe you might need a receiving OPP to play, but Monique is not that person.

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "pope" How disappointing this is.... and how funny it would be if Vitra lied to her as well and they sign a foreigner setter like Tomkom or Skorupa and keep her (Gamze) on the bench all season long.... or even better if Vitra breaks her contract right before the season starts to sign someone else. Tomkom rumor in Brazil must be fake...I doubt any club has the money to sign a player like her. Osasco would be the only one but seams like they will sign Claudinha ...or Barueri if Ze Rob...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Harrison" According to Voleybolplus Thaisa will not come back to Eczacibasi.I can't believe they signed with Gibbemeyer.Adam and Thaisa are better players. but judging from this season's performance, Thaisa is not so good and it is understandable as she is coming back from injury. Quoted from "Tamer06" Kim to Vakıfbank...Seriously? Zhu and Kim can't play together...Recepiton would suffer. Even Natalia and Kim couldn't. You have to play with a receiving opposite, which means you hav...

CEV Champions League 2018

In my opinion, Gozde DESERVES the MVP title -- but for a completely different reason. On paper, on court -- yes, no doubt -- ZHU TING is the real MVP. I have to admit that. She carries Vakifbank on her back and this has nothing to do with me being overdramatic. But Gozde is a living legend -- playing her heart out like a 22 years old on her final match of her professional career. ZHU TING might carries Vakifbank, but Gozde HOLDS the team together. She is doing crazy defensive play and pushing he...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "harboboy" Seriously could the Mods in this forum do something? I came here to read TRANSFER RUMORS AND THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE RUMORS and NOT who is the best setter in ( I don‘t care which Olympic cycle ) and whose performance dropped and so on. It is more than annoying that the users discuss anything else instead the topic of not only this thread in EVERY single other thread, too! Seriously guys I already have to go almost 5 pages back to read the latest real transfer rumor that ...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Rains" Prime is not relative to age. Naz was a child prodigy at the beginning of her career. It's the usual that those gifted players at a young age exhaust themselves early. I think Naz is a good setter but she was better than before although it is possible having such a strong squad in Vakifbank, we don't feel her level anymore. Thank you. That was what I was trying to say. I was talking about "training @ competition age" not "biological age". Naz has been in the game so long tha...
