2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Russian triple block is pretty intimidating especially now with Muserskiy

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "JoanaBG" Quoted from "ryleybarnes" I wonder the same. As far as I know, FIVB allow 1 naturalized player. But they have Bakun and number 15. You can have as many naturalized players as you want, the point is that it's only allowed to have one player who has competed on an another NT before. I don't think Muserskiy ever represented Ukraine on senior level. Thanks for shedding light on this Joanna. So this rule only applies to Goncharova in the women's team since if I remember correct...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "akitoakie" Quoted from "inc0gnito" Quoted from "akitoakie" is that wonder kid that has an incredible jump height playing for Russia? I can't remember his name. he is playing on the OPP position. anyway, can you guys share any links for the Men's VNL? Yes he is listed in the 21-man roster this VNL. It seems the coach is starting Bakun instead of Poletaev. Also, I never thought it's possible that Muserskiy and Bakun able to play at the same time? Is this allowed since technically the...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "ryleybarnes" Russia is super strong. I cant see anyone challenge them this year. I agree and they have the deepest bench this year. The only missing person is Kurkaev, he is better in block than Vlasov but with Muserskiy back this won't affect them too much.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Speaking of Russia in this tournament, Voronkova is playing really well she just needs to learn how to pass the block and not hit with power all the time. She will be Russia's other main weapon come WCH. Malykh it seems has learned to attack more efficiently in Position 4, and Parubets has improved her attacking as well but these two I think is still a question mark once they play against the big teams. Fetisova is still Russia's best blocking MB, and Efimova needs to improve her blocking but sh...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

If Rasic is currently the best blocking MB, and Foluke currently the best attacking MB, was pre-injury Thaisa considered the best overall MB? Honorable mentions: Poljak, Eda, Furst and Fabiana if we count from London OG onwards..

Russian NT 2018

Quoted from "LLOYD" According to Pankov's words, Russian team will be the same in 2nd round of VNL. He is only not sure about OPP players. And he is willing to give a more chance to Anna Kotikova as OPP. Kotikova is listed as 185 I'm not sure it's a good idea she plays in that position. I think Pankov missed the opportunity to invite Lazareva to NT. In my opinion she has more potential than Malygina. As it seems now, Malykh is still Russia's next best OPP after Goncharova.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "Rains" I agree but I still think the point of all of this is having Parubets and Voronkova with more confidence for the more important matches now that Kosheleva is out for this year. They really needed to have ball-killers at 4 which is probably the mission of Pankov for the VNL. Endless opposite setting will probably come back when Goncharova returns anyway. I hope that Startseva and Goncahrova can have a good connection as they haven't really played with each other, and as talen...

Without the ITALIA jersey, Pietrini looks like some Russian wing spiker with her length. And her name is ELENA too Is she of Italian ancestry?

Volleyball players' height

Quoted from "LLOYD" According to some sites Goncharova is also considered as 196cm but I think her real height is about 193-194cm she is surely not the same height with Koroleva Goncharova height always listed as 194 in FIVB sites, but noticed in CEV she is 196cm. Koreleva is at that height 196, so not much difference between her and Koreleva especially if they stand next to each other. Zhu TIng I rememeber when she started was at 195cm, and she is now 198cm but Boskovic same 193cm so she did n...

Russian NT 2018

Quoted from "Rains" Quoted from "inc0gnito" I think the Russian squad that participated last ECH is pretty close to ideal. Will Muserskiy ever come back? => He can but IMO, Russia can be a top-tier, competitive team without him which was proven in ECH. Is Poletaev capable of replacing Mikhailov as the main opposite? => Rains, of all people I think you should know lol As long as he remains healthy, Mikhailov will always be titular for Russia. I think a better question is who is the best candidat...

Russian NT 2018

Quoted from "JoanaBG" Goncharova will skip the Volleyball Nations League. She wants to rest after a long and tiring season. I don't blame her really, and now with the absence of Kosheleva she will be overused to hell and back good thing she will be rested. Since Malykh has retuned to NT, I hope she becomes the main OPP for Russian NT at VNL.

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "beri" I'm sorry Goncharova is one of the most overrated players and this all bcs she is considered pretty , unless its a sky high perfectly set ball she is pretty ineffective. Goncharova is between 4th and 6th imho esp. now. She'd wish she could spike a ball as well out of system as Sloƫtjes (or Tandara). And again I'm not saying she is bad however she has a system and is def. not a player thats comfortable going outside that which is fine but is not enough to make her 2nd best in ...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "beri" She has an amazing reach and approach much better then Tandara imo while she is also very tall, she is very quick and athletic as well. I agree that she is overall a better player and the second best Opposite in the world right now, only Boskovic is better. Uhhmm except not really. If we were to rank the worlds top opposites, I say she is a third or a tie with Tandara. Sloetjes may have a "better" approach (but that is subjective even) but Goncharova is a better blocker, util...

Russian NT 2018

Scherban is playing good in Moscow atm and I honestly would have taken her instead of Kutyukova who can't kill the ball to save her life. Even Ilchenko is a liability in the passing and at least Scherban can help somewhat in reception. Voronkova will arguably be OH1 with the absence of Kosheleva. I wonder how will the reception looks like, it seems Malova has retired and Kryuchkova has decided not to be back after returning to NT last year.

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Quoted from "StefanS" By the way, Goncharova prolonged her like eternal felt contract with Mocscow for one more year (she is there since 2007 now). So there is no fun for Istanbul top clubs by getting a top opposite now... I think Goncharova is contented with playing in domestic league and has no desire to play abroad, either because everything she needs she can find in Moscow or she doesn't care enough to challenge herself and play with the best teams overseas. I get the impression she is stub...

Russia - Superliga 2017/18

Quoted from "Canter" Moscow wins Russian championship ? or it is bets of 3 ? If rules were not changed this year, it's a best-of-5 series, and the team to win 3 games will be the winners.
