2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Again Velasco insisted with Ramos as starter opposite today (and again with low effectiveness %). And Crer/Palacios did not even play, just a bunch of inexperienced players. Does he not care about this competition at all??? next weekend better show a decent squad or the home crowd is going to be angry.

Quoted from "tomen" I also have a question: Why is only one full-time OP, Bruno Lima, in the roster? Is the left-handed OP, Johansen injured? Johansen is playing the south american games at this moment, As left-handed opposite there is also Jose Luis Gonzalez, but the coach let him (and Alexis Gonzalez, the libero) skip the VNL due to their old age so they don't get too tired. Both will probably play the World Championship too.

wow that was pathetic. I don't get why insist in using Ramos as opp, he was awful yesterday (something like 14 kills out of 40 attempt) and today was also below average. I don't get why you would start him over Lima who is much more used to play that. I'm sure they will show better with Bulgaria anyway.

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "pope" That`s fine.... But Sole`s season ended actually a while ago, same time as Wallace and Ivovic and both of them will be playing this weekend....same goes for Poglajen as his team did not even reach the semis.....The season in China ( Conte) ended a while ago and the season over there is shorter. They play at home next week? So does Brazil...still they are going to Italy. Like I said.. there`s no need for Brazil to be playing with their main squad because of their experience..b...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "pope" Argentina is not sending DeCecco, Conte, Poglajen,Sole...I understand playing against China and Korea is waste of time for Brazil...but Argentina is way far behind and for them playing against literally against anyone is a good thing so I don`t see why these "A" players are resting. Motives: a) Those players in particular just finished long seasons and this competition is 15 matches-long. Argentina league (where all players we'll use this weekend play) finished some weeks bef...

USA Men's NT 2018

Quoted from "Rains" What the hell at USA Volleyball not even caring about announcing the team they would take for the first week of VNL. They only have five days before the first match in China.. So the first week it is China, Argentina and Bulgaria. Not the strongest pool for us but Argentina could be a threat depending on their setter. I would probably want some new personnel here. It could be great f time for experiments. I guess we have to bring the best team against Argentina though. Argen...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors and Discussion

Quoted from "Rains" Wasn't 2013 the year Argentina hosted the world league? I mean I agree that was a bad year but being a host nation of world league is a curse. Even Uriarte was starting ahead of De Cecco but they still almost beat Brazil in South American Championship. For Iran, it could be possible that they regressed... ...but with Kovac they almost medaled in the world championship and world league of 2014, with Lozano they made the olympics and with Kolakovic they made their best finish ...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors and Discussion

Quoted from "Rains" I don't see your point. Bulgaria and Germany are weaker from the London Olympics. I never expected them to do better now. By the way Argentina in London defeated Bulgaria Team A. Argentina also got beaten in the South American Championship by Venezuela. I really cannot trust him with his results lately. He also has a terrible knaxk for underestimating opponents nowadays. If CSV decided with the South American Championship as the sole qualifier for the World Championship, the...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors and Discussion

Quoted from "Rains" Velasco doesn't like Cebulj/Bednorz(he wants good receivers like Berger who has a contract with Perugia. He wants to go away but in Milano). Do I trust Velasco? I don't. I think Modena made a big mistake on hiring him. His philosophy will probably hurt Modena than it will help them. He was one part of the reason Argentina lost in the quarterfinal of Rio Olympics. You have no idea what you're talking about, he made Argentina into a MUCH better team. Argentina under Weber used...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Bulgaria for sure has the shortest squad of any elite team. I get the feel they have been playing with the same 7 guys for the last 6 years or so.

Argentina NT 2018

Velasco announced he will resign from the team after the world championship in a letter he wrote for the FEVA site: http://www.feva.org.ar/noticias/muestra_…oticias&id=1485 He says it isn't due to money or organization problems but that he wishes to live with his family again (his family lives in Modena). Oh well

Argentina NT 2018

Something to take into account from this list is that both Gonzalez (Alexis the libero and Jose the opposite) won't play the nations league, they will go straight to WCh preparations. I think De Cecco will join to play in the weekend we host (June 1st, 2nd & 3rd if I recall correctly). Overall, I'm happy with this selection, a good blend of experience and youth. Hopefully this can be the breakthrough year for the team. We sorely missed Conte, Lima and Palacios last year, the team lacked power in...

Italy – Superlega 2017/2018

Quoted from "scarpetta" How is Zaytsev MVP? You guys(including journalists) are forcing too much to make him the MVP. Today De Cecco was the clear MVP , followed by Atanasijevic (who scored all the important points) Fourth set MVP was clearly Kovar, who was in full trolling mode. He got aced by 4 or 5 times. Christenson wasted another great performance of Juantorena .This guy is in love with Sokolov ,there is no other explanation for his choices. The biggest difference between this 2 teams is s...

Men's World Championship 2018

Quoted from "rbdfabio" We can`t dismiss a team results based on the group or teams they played against. In this case we would say Argentina only reached the Q in the OG because they played against Cuba, Iran and whichever other African Team was in that group that I can`t even remember, not to mention a completely lost Polish team, while Canada playing in the Group of death against the GOLD, Silver and Bronze medalist, managed to finish 2nd place in the group. I doubt Argentina would have make o...

Men's World Championship 2018

Quoted from "rbdfabio" Quoted from "LDvolley" Group C is tough indeed but B? Since when is Canada considered a super power? because they did well in a world league in which half of the teams didn't play with their best squads? they have little chance to actually challenge Brazil or France. Since the day they finished 7th at the 2014 WCH ( while ARG only finished at 11th) and since the day they finished 5th at the 2016 OG. I`m just not sure if half of the teams played with their best squads in t...

Men's World Championship 2018

Italy will have to be very careful with that group... 4 of the 5 opponents have potential to upset if they are in a bad day.
