Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "akitoakie" I always thought Sato is going to be the next Sano. if you look at the way she moves in court anticipating attacks That's what I mean when I say "she skates to where the puck is going to be". Kotoe is fast too, but Arisa has better instinct, or something.

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "jetmasters" Does Nakada have esp and telepathy? Never seen her talked during timeouts. She talked fairly often in this VNL. The dude was much restrained from last year. I enjoyed that. Mostly he would one to one with the setter.

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

Quoted from "brahmin" Would she ever get playing time with Hisamitsu's roster? Certainly not if Nagaoka comes back. I think it's a good move for her ... depending on where she ends up.

2013.11.12 World Grand Champions Cup - JPN v RUS [3-1]

I tried to start something like this over in the Trash Can, so I'll just copy my post here: As a fan of Japan, the 2012 OG QF game against China is pretty special, but I didn't really enjoy that China team. The match had great suspense though. The match that puts a real breeze up my skirt is the 2013 World Grand Champions Cup - Japan against Russia (of which I would kill for a crisp HD video): It's not Russia's strongest lineup but they were good enough and big enough and strong enough to give J...

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "akitoakie" floor defense is Japan's identity. with this new coach, it seems like everything goes missing. they barely defense, and their attacjing is so and so. i have not been convinced that this new coach is going to take Japan to the next level, or even close to the 2012-2015 Japan. I gave Coach Nakada the benefit of the doubt for the first year. I'm losing faith. Others may not share my love for Arisa Sato but the fact that she wasn't picked for the NT is what made me lose a lo...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "jetmasters" Quoted from "sitenoise" I finally got to watch the Brazil v China match and I don't get what happened at the end of the 3rd set. China was up 25-24 and Drussyla spiked one way out of bounds. Brazil Coach challenged for a block touch. They showed the replay, along with the "Official Review" placard that said NO TOUCH. Brazil's Coach just wagged his finger and they gave it to Brazil. I read back here in the forum and someone said "antenna", and someone said Ding touched t...

Japan - V.Premier League 2017-2018

I see that Akane Ukishima, #19 on Hisamitsu has requested a transfer. I saw her play a few games during one of those one-off tournaments this spring. She's a lefty OPP, 22 years old, only 172cm but she impressed me. I mentioned earlier I'd like to see her move to a team where she'd get playing time, as she is unlikely to crack the Hisamitsu lineup. Only downside is that playing for Hisamitsu is better chance of making NT. Good luck to her.

Yuki Ishii, Professional

I was fascinated by Yuki in the game against Poland. Yuki's reception had not been good in the tournament so Poland targeted her like a beast. They sent their first several serves at her and she boinked every one of them. Nakada switched the rotation and Kurogo took over for her. Yuki hid in the back. Then a little later there was one of those loose balls flying around and all Yuki had to do was push it over the net. She blew that, hitting it into the net instead. Here is a photo of Yuki after t...

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "Kakeru" Quoted from "Canter" sorry but Miya Sato and Miyashira are the same setter or not ? Not the same setter, miya sato plays for hitachi rivale team, while haruka miyashita plays for okayama seagulls. Both are on wide roster for Japan NT 2018. And Haruka Miyashita is one of the best floor defenders in the world!

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "Ryu Takamiya" And we should reconsider setters (Tashiro is nothing special for me, I hope M,Sato will be tried.) and 2nd libero (Toe & Yamagishi are worst libero our NT ever had Kobata or Nakagawa should be replace). I thought Tashiro played okay. Surprise to me she is ranked #6 Setter on the FIVB VNL stat sheet. I prefer her over Sato because she at least knows what floor defense is. So sad Nakada isn't ready to let Miyashita play I dunno what's in Nakada's head on those libero ch...

Japanese NT 2018

Quoted from "Kakeru" @Ryu Takamiya, do you know the line up Japanese NT for the World Championships? I saw on some post online that Araki is back and also Miyu Nagaoka? Both Araki and Nagaoka are on the long list of Japanese NT, but the roster for the WCh has not been decided yet. In a recent interview, Coach Nakada talked about the psychological mountain Nagaoka still has to climb to get back to game shape, and that she is still waiting to see who will play in the Asian Games which comes befor...

Quoted from "ossubtus" congrats to DOM, 3-1 over hosts POL. it's their only 3rd win, i think, they only beat ARG and THA before. they lost 3-2 to BEL, KOR and JPN, and they could have taken all those 3 matches... too bad. Wow. Congrats to DOM! Impressive
