No Mao Junyi(MB)? I remember Tomen saying she was injured a couple months ago. Is she still recovering or was her injury too serious to continue playing volleyball? Edit: Nevermind, I just read the post above. I guess for the young girls participating in an older category it'll will be a good learning experience.

Are there any players in the Chinese League who aren't in the national team that have good athleticism along with high jumping abilities?

Zhang Yichan is shorter 187cm, she had one good game throughout the competition. Duan Fang is more versatile and younger. You are refering to Yang Jie 194cm, she can hit a strong ball, but her reception is bad similar to Wang Yunlu. It goes to show that although Lang Ping admires tall height, she needs to see potential in order to receive a call for the national team training. Like Han Wenya who plays for Zhu Tings old club, Henan. Born in 1998 and reached the height of 196cm. Shes a bit more sl...

Final Roster Prediction: Outside Hitter: Zhu Ting, Liu Xiaotong, Li Yingying, Duan Fang With Zhang Changning still recovering, China will need to explore other options to pair with Zhu. Liu Xiaotong is still the most experienced compared to the other new players, but she isn't stable. Both Li Yingying and Duan Fang had ups as well as downs, but throughout the competition they performed better than Liu Yanhan and Zhang Yichan. OP: Gong Xiangyu, Yang Fangxu As much as I would like to see Zeng Chun...

Back in Beijing, I noticed another player training alongside the group in between Yan Ni and Ding Xia. Is that the setter Sun Haiping? I guess Lang Ping is giving her early training despite not making the nations league roster.

Final Round Pool A: China, Brazil, and Netherlands This match up is the same as last years Grand Prix, where China and Brazil continued to advance to the semifinals. Pool B: United States, Serbia, Turkey United States will face the only two teams that beat them in the preliminary round. Any predictions? Also, does anyone know when final rosters for these rounds will be announced?

Surprise victory for Serbia. Milenkovic will get some more good playing time with Brankica out. Great match between Netherlands and Turkey who will be great rivals in the future. They must feel satisfied beating their former coach. Amazing comeback for the young Chinese roster from being down 2 sets. Gotta love Yuan and her supersonic screams. Does anybody have links to replays?

Yuan Xinyue is very vocal, which I'm pretty sure gets in the head of the opponents while boosting her teams confidence. She has leadership and fits well as capitan for this week. Li Yingying who has a shy personality is slowly starting to open up which is what their American trainer, Rett Larson said about her. Once she gets comfortable, I think she's going to be a different player than how she currently is performing. Despite their loss against Brazil, I thought she definitely stepped up her ga...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "Helios" Quoted from "StefanS" Quoted from "Helios" ITA can get maximum 10 wins and 30 points. Then Netherland needs to get 1 win and at least 5 points to secure the spot, and Turkey and Serbia only need 1 win and at least 3 points. If ITA loses 1 set, then both Serbia and Turkey only need 1 win no matter how the results are. BRA also needs 3 more points, but technically they will not lose all 3 matches, so they are in. Netherlands have two difficult matches in Stuttgart against Chi...

Quoted from "forzalube" Quoted from "tomen" Conguatulations! Bayi men's VC also gets the runner-up. http://sports.qq.com/a/20180604/017324.htm Do you have full roster for China military women in Edmonton? What about roster for week 5 of VNL? Someone posted on the 2018 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League thread that Zhu Ting, Ding Xia, Lin Li, Yan Ni, and Yang Fangxu will not go to Germany, including Lang Ping. Don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, that means the roster will look like...

It would be interesting to see a match where Gong Xiangyu plays setter. Maybe Diao Linyu will surprise us in Germany, though her performance hasn't been a wow factor. I really hope other setters that weren't picked for the VNL are working and training hard because that's the most crucial position for China right now. Fingers crossed that Feng Kun has a young disciple she is training that has potential.

Quoted from "Maxwell" I don’t understand why it is hard to get a reply for the USA China game. Does anyone know of a link? https://youtu.be/D9FYsLnLA1I Here's a replay of the full match. Don't know how long it will still be up.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Interesting match ups: China vs USA - This could go either way, depending on the reception and lineup China uses. Though if Lang Ping decides to experiment with some of her new players, then I predict a 3-1 victory for USA. China is slowly getting back into rhythm after the 5 set thriller against Brazil and the sweep over Russia. Netherlands vs Serbia - Without Mihajlovic I think that Netherlands may have a slight opening to beat Serbia, but it's going to take hardwork. It'll be a battle of the ...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "Rains" Chinese setters nowadays are almost the same. Setting to Zhu or the equivalent of Zhu in their clubs when they are not passing well. Ding Xia is special for a chinese setter though. She's aggressive and confident. She also attacks with her left hand which surprises opponents. I'm not sure about Yao Di, i think she's trying according to Lang Ping's plans but most of the time she's failing to become different from Ding Xia. Her aggressiveness is what sets her apart from other ...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "Rains" I have a feeling chinese setters are having problems with Yang Fangxu and Li Yingying. Both are lefties so they have to be extra careful on setting it too far wide or too close from their comfort zone. Yeah, it's obvious there is some setting issues. Imagine going back and forth from a righty OH(Zhu Ting) to a lefty OH(Li Yingying), same goes for a righty OP(Gong Xiangyu) to a lefty OP(Yang Fangxu). Not to mention when either or is hitting from the back row. Talk about confu...

Quoted from "losta" Hande Baladın stays in Eczacı. http://www.eczacibasisporkulubu.org.tr/e…t-hande-baladin Interesting, I figured she would've signed with another team that would allow her to be a starter for more playing time. Hope she made the right decision.

The sound of it makes me cringe. Wish her a happy and healthy life now that she has retired along with a gold medal for all that she has done for China. We shall see in the upcoming competitions, which players will rise to the occasion and improve their skills.

I read somewhere that Tianjin had the toughest training that overworked their players which led to injury and early retirement. Obviously their trophies showed their handwork, but at the cost of their players health. Hope things are different now though. It would be interesting if a club develops a fast paced style. Something different that can change the overall competition in the Chinese League. Does Feng Kun participate in youth training? Future setters could learn a lot from her experience. ...

Communication also seems to be a problem with the introduction of new players. Hu Mingyuan seems to be Lang Pings new favorite middle blocker. Wangy Yuanyuan and Yang Hangyu are going to need to work even harder to claim a position. Li Yingying looked a bit better, which shows shes training and trying hard. I read that Lang Ping arranged a pass training for Li with an assistant coach. Lang Ping is very patient with her progress. Her athleticism also needs improvement as far as spike/block height...

Hu is definitely outperforming the others which is surprising. I like the energy she brings to the team. It'll be interesting to see how Lang Ping incorporates her in the future since China's middle blockers are normally tall, which unfortunately she is not.
