2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Congrats to the Bulgarian team. Although Brazil played really bad this week, it still takes courage for the Bulgarian team to win.

Quoted from "rugby" Bulgaria is again playing very decent. Brasil may very well leave Varna with 3 defeats. Hopefully that's the case.

Quoted from "ravhin2j3" What's with this Japan team. They can go and play like the rest of the great teams. Is this going to be the sudden reversal of fortune? The JAP W team is going a bit down and the JAP M is on the rise? Without De Cecco and Conte, this Argentine team is very average.

Quoted from "ossubtus" how's it even possible for a 203 cm tall player to be a libero???? Couldn’t watch the match. Who is that player?

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "Padar" Quoted from "andrea" Starting from the Rio Olympics, often I’ve been hearing a short piece of music played by the live DJs after a good rally. That piece of music has only one sentence of non-English lyrics, ending in some sound like “Pooh ooh ooh ooh”. Anyone has ideas where this piece of music comes from? Are you sure it's not "here comes the boom"? Thanks! I’m not into rap music, and can hardly recognize the lyrics.

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "saishuu" Kinda crazy that Argentina is playing with like, their fourth setter. Even weirder to see how Poglajen really developed enough to be a starter in the NT. Never thought he'd get there for some reason, but he's really became a super solid player. I recall Poglajen has been a starter for quite some time? He’s not like those famous big guns at the OH position, but he’s an all-rounder with consistent performance.

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "mosi" Quoted from "andrea" Who's injured? Has Mahmoudi ever taken any coaching role at NT last or this year? Yes, I agree that it'd be good for NT if Mahmoudi stays. His style is different from Ghafour. To me Ghafour it's all about power, but Mahmoudi's play is a fix of technique, power and wisdom. Manavinejad. he will probably miss the whole league , maybe except the last weekend in Tehran. Mahmoudi is not retired as a player to be a coach, he is still 29 and still playing in the ...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "mosi" That was a very good analyze, more or less I agree with you. I have to add for some players specially Mousavi the biggest problem is lack of motivation, they used to fight for every point. they won everything in Asia, they played at the Olympics and had some good results in World Championships, they probably think getting better results is impossible and that's why they are not that motivated. Gholami was out last year for disciplinary reasons, Kolakovic invited him this year...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

IMO, Iran seemed to peak in 2014, and their form has declined since then. They're at par with the world's best teams that year, but since then they're outclassed. What's a bit puzzling is that it's basically the same group of players these years. The best starting line-up of the Iranian team in 2014 is like this: Marouf - His consistency has dropped, though he's still a world-class setter. Mousavi - I believe his form has gradually dropped due to his age. Golami - A short but speedy MB. The weak...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "pope" but to be fair Brazil and Italy are the 2 strongest teams right now....We gotta wait and see how they will perform against everyone else. And this is the Brazil (+Lucarelli) and Italy (+Lanza) that we will see in the WCH... I'd also add USA to be among the strongest superpowers.

Is the new MB Ali Shafiei (#16 from Iran) that short? FIVB info shows that he's only 190cm tall, but he seems taller than that.

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

Quoted from "Rains" Does Konstantinov know what his team's problems are? I could point one out loud and say he should get rid off Uchikov, he's not doing anything on defense, he is slow and he can't get any good timing off his jump when the setter is forced set to him when you need a scorer. They need an athletic opposite to come up big against USA. Team has younger and fresher legs and they are outliving them in defense.USA is not even doing anything special but they are beating them. Without ...

2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

I watched a few games with my FloVolleyball subscription (US). Overall experience is so-so. I tried watching USA vs Bulgaria live, but the streaming was not available till the second set. The streaming quality is HD, but it's not too smooth from time to time. Once in a while, the video quality drops to SD which is so blurred that I couldn't even read the scorebox from the screen. For some matches like Russia vs Poland, almost for the entire match, the stream suffered from "discontinuity" (like I...

2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors and Discussion

Quoted from "mosi" I don't know if Kovac was good or bad but players weren't listening to him. Velasco (as a very smart person) found the problem too early by kicking Marouf out of the NT in his first decision. that was a good lesson for everybody. Marouf later came back to the team after a year. as you said Lozano did nothing special with Iran, they even had hard time for the qualification, China brought Iran to the 5th set. even Iran B or Iran U23 teams had beaten China before and after that....

CEV Champions League 2018

Just got the chance to watch the replay of the final. What a pity for Lube. They deserved to win the trophy more than Kazan, with a cushion of 3-point and 4-point lead respectively in the last two sets (16-13 in set 4, and 11-7 in set 5). That in/out challenge of Butko's serve at 8-11 is so crucial. Sander was criticized along with other American players in this Final Four. Given his performance in the final, I think he played very well (slightly better than his usual level). He didn't choke at ...

Men's World Championship 2018

Quoted from "Rains" No Sokolov for the NT season. He will undergo knee surgery on June 4. It's not the first time that Sokolov misses the NT season. It's a pity that Bulgaria NT has lost the most important player again. Has the Bulgarian volleyball federation ever discussed with Lube the timing of the surgery, for example, the beginning of the club season?

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "pope" I did sign up for the pay-per-view website available here in the US $29.99 monthly .. They will be streaming VNL until 2020, World Championships, Club Championship and the World Cup. ...the I assume the FIVB channel will do the same. I can watch on the computer and also stream on my TV....which is amazing...BUT I wish they were on a actually TV Network such as Sportv,Polsat,Rai Sport etc.....as it is a good exposition for the sport in the US....but the next time the NT will b...
