Thanks Beri and Tomen for your feedback, I can see what you explained that it is not the correct projection of the sr NT future and the conflicting schedule constraint. Thought I was too upset then wasted time watching something so uncompetitive, not only a win-lost matter. Don't follow the junior things so I had no picture on the roster strength.

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "Canter" unf., i wont be able to watch the final round of VNL and to write here on the matches...i think i can check the results at best.. i wish all the teams an injury-free final round in advance What will you do by then, Canter, that you are unable to watch the F6? Esp. Your home team, TUR, also takes part this year after being absent for several years :-) Yeah, I wish all teams safe play and injury-free, and may the team with the best play wins the tournament. The viewing time w...

The Chinese U19 is not good. They won over Thailand team in the SF with great difficulty, and lost easily to the Japanese team in final. They were inferior to the Japanese squad in every area! I just hope this squad is not the best that China has. Cannot imagine how this team will compete in the U20 World Championship in 2019 when they are far from convincing in the Asian level. And if this squad is the projection of the future CNT, then the Chinese squad will be in miserable condition. Hopefull...

So far, Yang Hanyu did not make any sounding in VNL, indeed she was quite disappointing! Is she injured or what? Or merely lacks of highly competitive exposure, still quite raw thus needs much reworks? Feel pity for Zhang Yichan to join NT so late, practically gets no chance to join the major tournaments... though she still can play in various lesser events such as those Asian ones, Montreux etc. Liu Yanhan seems to waste her years since her last major tournament at the 2015 World Cup... don't s...

Chinese NT 2018

Quoted from "bumpsetspike" Final Roster Prediction: Outside Hitter: Zhu Ting, Liu Xiaotong, Li Yingying, Duan Fang With Zhang Changning still recovering, China will need to explore other options to pair with Zhu. Liu Xiaotong is still the most experienced compared to the other new players, but she isn't stable. Both Li Yingying and Duan Fang had ups as well as downs, but throughout the competition they performed better than Liu Yanhan and Zhang Yichan. OP: Gong Xiangyu, Yang Fangxu As much as I...

Chinese NT 2018

My guesstimate for the Chinese 14-roster for F6: OH: Zhu Ting, Liu Xiaotong, Li Yingying OP: Zeng Chunlei, Gong Xiangyu, Yang Fangxu MB: Yuan Xinyue, Yan Ni, [pick 2 of 3: Wang Yuanyuan / Gao Yi / Hu Mingyuan] S: Ding Xia, Diao Linyu L: Lin Li, Wang Mengjie The choice of MB is the most less obvious for me. Diao Linyu showed a good performance in GER leg, she should be on top of Yao Di. How I wish the number of roster allowed is 16 i/o 14 :-) What do you think, guys? P. S. I do miss Zhang Changni...

Chinese NT 2018

From SOHU Sports on 15 June 16:20 in an article titled to: “龚翔宇报平安伤病不严重!最年轻奥运冠军突然涨球,郎平重获大将” Just search Baidu.com for "龚翔宇受伤" Gong Xiangyu reported NO serious injury! http://t.pae.baidu.com/s?s=bai-apb12y "Thank you for your concern! I just stepped on the ball when I landed. It's not serious enough. Please be rest assured." Gong Xiangyu personally reported to be safe. It seems that the injury was only a false alarm. This time in the Germany leg, Gong Xiangyu obviously got the ball up. She was th...

Even though Zhu Ting returns to the team in week-3, I wish her just stands as a backup and let other players incl. those new ones play. I wanna see Liu XT, Duan Fang, Li YY, Gong XY (agree that Yang FX is not so good, lacks of agility though powerful, Gong is the better choice over all), Hu MY have more playing time. Not sure that Duan at 24 is "young enough" to just start with the CNT, but giving her more playing time may possibly improve her skills in dealing with the world's teams. Zhu's role...

Chinese NT 2018

To some here who strongly censured Gong XY as declining, even downgraded her as no longer fits CNT, the first two matches show her remains capable in the NT environment, regardless how she might have performed in the club level! That alone may explain the reasons why CNT coaching team keep on calling her (cf. Wang YL and several other failed trials). Wang YY is showing a more mature level compared to the last time I watched her play, in the last WGP, a year ago. Not able to comment on Gao Yi's o...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Shocking win by the TUR over the Rio Bronze Medallist, similar to the GER huge upset win over the host, BRA, broke the 16-year continuous defeats ... I hope this loss won't affect the Karch's long stay prospect with the team Hopefully a downloadable HQ full replay of this match will be made available soon Meanwhile here's TUR vs ITA at 720P (sorry if already posted earlier): https://youtu.be/36Mj89fZcdc -- some other more there, mixed with the ignorable 240p(!)

Chinese NT 2018

Quoted from "sitenoise" Lucky are the teams who get China in the first round. Wait It comes out that such perceived luck is vaporware indeed... just ask those DOM BEL and KOR too, they certainly will tell us it's just a fake news Quoted from "bumpsetspike" Quoted from "jetmasters" VNL is every year so not a big deal not winning it. Main tournaments are always the quadrennial World tourneys. Hopefully everyone is healthy for WCh. Let see if there will be another breakout young star this year. My...

2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

Quoted from "ossubtus" that font is so ugly! who did fivb hire to do their design? and the graphics that appear with the player only show name and shirt #? WTF, who cares what the shirt # is? how about showing height and age????? It's called Monster Font [::wicked:: ... akin to its very lousy monetization efforts] I foresee the VNL HQ Full-match Replay videos will never see daylight --will undergo the same fate as those Olympic Games matches-- beyond the limited & exclusive coverage of the Pay-...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "JoanaBG" Oh God, trust the FIVB to make the most convoluted and needlesly drawn out competition format possible. I shudder to think how many dead matches there are going to be in the second round. So great that we now have the "blink and you miss it" ECh where the eventual winner may only play 6 matches on their way to the title and the neverending WCh where the finalists will have played 15 matches each in total, with nothing in between. That's WHY the World Championship is the tr...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "serdar" If FIVB will use serpentine system for first 12 teams as they did in last editions, pools will be as following; Pool-A: JPN-NED-DOM Pool-B: CHN-ITA-KOR Pool-C: USA-RUS-ARG Pool-D: SRB-BRA-TUR Quite bad draw for Turkey If we will get BUL also drawn in that group, it will be the group of death We have a ridiculous tournament formula anyway, it really doesn't make much difference in which group you are for the first phase Is it arranged based on the current WR? Pool-A: JPN-NED...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "ossubtus" it seems DOM, PUR, MEX and TRI have now all qualified to the WCh next year. they are all 2-0 in their pools and cannot be surpassed by the other teams. in s. america, it seems ARG has clinched its slot as well. congrats, corrupt dumb fivb. next year we'll have such wonderful powers as MEX, TRI and CAN in the WCh, but not POL, BEL, CZE, UKR, or even COL, which is a stronger team than those 3. And from the Asian Continent you missed out the North Korean team... in an ideal ...

Chinese NT 2017

Quoted from "ballisround" Thank you, Samsara..for your latest insight into the Chinese Team 's Rio preparations. Well, maybe it's a bit far fetched..but I believe China actually wanted to meet Brazil in the QF. Their ultimate target is GOLD and nothing else. Their top players stayed away from the Grand Prix Finals in BKK, says a lot. Their loss to the Dutch in the opening game may have changed some of their plans. They have done a lot of research and groundwork on their opponents. At that stage...

Women's World Grand Champions Cup 2017

Just be aware of this fact. From VolleyMob.com: "China, however, is playing to avoid becoming the first-ever Grand Champions cup winner to lose a match. Surprisingly, even in a tournament that pits the best-of-the-best in the world against one another, there has never been enough parity that a team has lost a match and still won the tournament." A winner cannot lose any match. A loser cannot be the eventual winner. Weird enough, what a speciality from the WGCC, knowing what happened in other eve...

Lang Ping's public lecture at the Beijing Normal University Lang Ping delivered a public lecture at the Beijing Normal University (one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China), talked about her early careers, incl. coached in Italian club(s) (might have something to do why Chun-lei plays in Italy), the difficult years of the NT and so forth... yet of course the main, the most interesting part was her team stories and struggles behind the scenes, the off-court stories. This most ...
