• Really bad news.

Girls said, that they can't won't work with this staff! Propably with Bonitta. But maybe it's affect those new manager, who made this situation (not offcial but source of information is really credible).

And from other source i heard, that Barańska and Skorupa are in Szczyrk back, and everything is on the road.

  • As it seems that all happened on the evening after Agatas funeral.
Kasia, Ania and Skorupa came back too late (?) and that pissed Bonitta off?

But maybe all the people just misunderstood the whole situation and exaggerated with their decisions... I really hope that all these 3 players will stay in the squad

  • Nastja, this situation is very stupid.

Polish NT has new manager, and he didn't tell Skowronska, Baranska and Skorupa, that there will be supper at concrete time, so they didn't come. So Bonitta decided to kick them out... And Bonitta didin't know, that all this situation is fault of new manager and when he found out that, he didn't make anything. Only Skowronska stayed in Szczyrk and on the morning she talked with Bonitta, so changed his mind. He called to Baranska and Skorupa but they didn't pick up phone.

not with Bonitta! with new manager! :|

  • Wow. This sounds really stupid!

Bonita: People don't show up to dinner and his first thought is to kick them off the team??? That is crazy!!! Regardless of the managers failings, this is an irresponsible reaction by the coach.

Makes one wonder if maybe the Italian players had a point after all.

  • The most stupid thing was that they have employed manager which doesn't speak Italian and English....i can't imagine why PZPS has given him that job (he is called "TITANIC" :))

  • So funny, how Bonitta comunicates with the team, telling one word in polish, one in italian and one in english. He can't even compose a single sentence. Why doesn't the team use an interpreter?? Btw, Caprara already speaks fluent russian...

  • well, if bonitta had a polish wife i think he would be able to speak polish pretty ok ;)
But i think the bigger problem of bonitta and the girls is the definition of work rather than the communication...

    agree!

Sooo... whats the problem? :D ;)

Can't understand, what "definition of work" exactly means. In his interview after the game Bonitta said, that there is a communication problem. But honestly, it looks now, that he is just not good enough for your team. I mean, he is a great coach, but he hasn't found a way to the Polish team heart. I think, you will need to hire a specialist from your country, not a foreigner. It's a pity, that only one month remained till Olympics starts.

  • Poland has one of the best players in world: Skowronska, Liktoras, Glinka, Podolec...I hope Bonnita will realize that. This team is capable of making upsets in Beijing!

"[size=8]It's years and years of work and sacrifice and dedication. Along with a lot of these girls, we've sweat and we've bled and we've cried together in past Olympics. It just brought tears to my eyes, & I'm more than thrilled. Well, what i meant with "definition of work" is that the girls are working and training how they are used to. Eventhough they have a new coach they continue with their old habits.
While Bonitta has his very own understanding of this work. He expects from the players full submissiveness. If they dont follow his orders, no matter how weird they are, he punishes them with excluding from trainings, matches or even from the team.
The big problem is that Bonitta cant change the players, they are women and women are harder to control than men. And after the weird decisions Bonitta made in the past months and weeks the trust between him and the team shrank.

I hope the good vibes will return as Glinka, Skowronska and Liktoras come back, but i doubt that players like Baranska, Skorupa etc are fully happy with this situation.

    bad vibes = bad performances

  • I think the problem with Bonitta is that he isn't able to deal with women. When he was Italy's coach, he and the players were in very bad terms. He insulted them and excluded them from the NT if they questioned his methods.
He was literally kicked out of the team when all the players said to the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation that they would all leave the NT if he didn't go.
So yeah, I'm not surprised that the Polish players are having problems with him, not at all.

Now it's clear to me. Fully agree with you. This also can be called a communication problem, but on the other, much deeper level, not connected with the language understanding.
I don't want to blame Bonitta or players, but, as for me, when the new coach rebiulds the team corresponding to his needs and way of work, players should comply with that. Even when they are not agree with his decisions. He will answer for the consequences lately, in the face of volleyball federation.

  • Well, when things were working out for Poland (I mean last year's first phase of GP), everything seems fine. Then suddenly it happens... I just wonder what has changed from that time to after it.

In fact I never liked Bonitta for his definition of work, but at least i think he should give a try to learn polish. It`s not easy, but after all he SHOULD KNOW it since the beginning. Well, I hope things solve out for Polish team, because I want to see them doing a good performance in Beijing :)

  • well... setters want to create also something own and not being just the robotor of the coach, so i totally understand it when she (Skorupa) tries something new or sets the way she thinks it is right.

But i totally can understand why they argued (why bonitta was mad) during the thailand match... At the end of set 4 she just insisted to play to the wrong player while she could have set for example to baranska, who probably would have made the decisive point.

I think that after all this "dinner-misunderstanding" the relationship between him and her got worse and represents that also on the court now.
Luckily poland has Sadurek still, but it would be a big mistake if Bonitta let Skorupa at home after all this drama, since poland needs 2 equal setters...
