today for the ticket to Beijing 2008

    CUBA x CANADA

  • It goes without saying that Cuba is the favourite team to qualify to the Olympic Games.

I think Puerto Rico's team has a lot of potential... I really like this team. It would be nice if they at least could play well against Cuba.

About the Dominican team... I think they can surprise Cuba if they could play at their best level. But the Dominican Team is not regular... so, there is more likelihood that the NORCECA's spot in the OG goes to Cuba.

  • No surprises in NORCECA:

FINAL: CUBA 3x0 CANADA 25-19, 25-09, 25-16 (Cuba qualifies to Beijing 2008) :win:
    THIRD PLACE: PUR 3x2 DOM REP. 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-25, 22-20

Cuba is joining China, Italia, Brazil and USA.

Me too...but I am sure FIVB will find a way to get DOM into OG

I think the same way. For now, regardless ending up in a disappointing fourth place in NORCECA behind Cuba, Canada and Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic will be given another chance thanks to its position in the FIVB world ranking. On the other hand Canada and Puerto Rico have no more chances.

  • the olympic world qualification held in Japan next May will be the very last chance for Dominicans to go to Beijing....coz they are the best ranked NORCECA team in the world apart from Cuba which has been qualified....however, its gonna be very tough for them

    in Tokyo

Dominican republic NT will probably meet the 4 top teams from Asian championships: Japan, Thailand, Korea, Kazakhstan, two out of Russia/Serbia/Poland, and either Kenya or Egypt....they dont even have too much chance to win 3 of them....

i may not be the tallest,
    the fastest, or the strongest,
but at least i can do one thing better than anyone else,
    to be me...

  • Venezuela beats Peru and qualifies for the OG ?(

    How did that happen???

    How come Peru lost to Venezuela??? 8| 8| 8| 8| 8|
    It's not possible 8o

    Peru x Venezuela 2:3
    22-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-22, 12-15
