2006-2007 season was the big year for Spanish League when clubs went all out to sign top foreign players. I agree that the quality has dropped off now. As for Demir-Darnel, she's under contract for multiple seasons ( 4 years originally, and that was extended to 5 years due to maternity leave) so she's with Tenerife until 2011.

  • Yesterday Tenerife played a friendly match with Fenebahçe Acıbadem.Tenerife won 3-2.(23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 10-15)The game was like a match from IECL.The level of the game was quite good

Both teams were really good but receiving is stiil the main problem of these two teams.Nesli is getting stronger and stronger after pregnancy. As a 3-month mother she played very good.Yasmina Hernandez was the best player of Tenerife yesterday she made a lot of points also Stace was pretty good.Arkie played as a libero in the absence of Cebic she made some mistakes but generally OK.MBs of the team didn't score many points but Barros looks like a good player.

In Fenerbahçe Seda was the best of the team she scored lots of points.Spasojevic seems to be well-adapted to the team.Apart from some mistakes of receiving she was very good although this is her first game with her new team.Vesna played well too she made some mistakes of receiving also especially in 5th set but in attack she was fine. Two MBs Eda(who recovered from a serious knee injury) played well she was very good especially in blocking and Çiğdem was also good.Guliyeva didn't play this game(Nisa Kuliyeva played as the setter she was fine) Guliyeva has an injury but Korotenko played and as always she was very good.Apart from Korotenko Necla(who is the second libero of the team)was really good in the sets she played.

  • Thank you very much Demir17 for this report, was a pleasure to read :)

I really hope for Tenerife that they will have the chance to compete with the other strong european teams still.... this friendly was good news :)

  • Are the broadcasts on Popular TV live or delayed? And do you know if TV Canaria will broadcast too?

Only these 3 channels that I've posted. The broadcasts are live!

Tv Canaria could broadcast some matches during the season. Popular TV will broadcast one match per week (at least this is what they say...) I'll announce broadcasted matches here. Don't worry!

  • The match between Tenerife and Murcia has started and http://www.eldia.tv/ broadcasts it online.

  • Tenerife Marichal - Murcia 3-0 ( 25-14, 25-13, 25-18 )

I've seen the match and this Murcia is really poor. I think they just have no any chance in Champions League with this roster. Ok, they have a lot of new players, but I think they won't form a strong squad even if they get to know better each other. They should sign some experienced, high level players to be competitive in CL.

Neslihan was great, she's just turned back after her pregnancy and got 19 points tonight.
