Montreux 2009

  • i didn't know i will ever see Japan being better in block than european team but today is that day 10-8 in favour to Japan :drink:
what a poor defence and reception :what: so many errors ,bad setting yyy is that was really Japan :sos:
and come on girls where the heck the circle running gone :tzz:

Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to
stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs
you, that takes a lot of courage.

  • I must say this Japanese team is nowhere nearly as enjoyable to watch as in the previous years. As mateo said, poor reception and defense, Takeshita tried to do some magic but failed, their attack system is no longer full of combination plays but a bad copy of European volleyball with very few middle attacks but many backrow attacks and this is just not suitable for Japanese players. Of course they miss Takahashi as key player but I think this is the wrong way to handle this loss
On the other side, Netherlands played a very solid game, not great performance but always good enough to be better than Japan. Good to see Chaine and Wensink back in the team and some young players involved

yeah that's true. i don't know why nearly every team in the world want to play in european style which is so extremaly boring ;/. i 've always loved to watched Japanese game simple because they were full of combination and that was "happy" way of play and now?? a bad copy of european style . Japan DON'T GO THIS WAY !!!
China also end with their extremaly enjoyable style and turn to another european style team but at least they have that quality to play that way Japan doesn't ;(

For china it's not about quality of play, it's just about power and height. They can adopt european or brazilian style of game because of their physical skills. Japan haven't that and it will be dificult for them to play this way.

  • ;( poor Germany they should have won this match for a great ambition.what an amazing team spirit that team has, maybe they don't play the best volleyball but they are real TEAM , and with such a spirit you can move a mountain(Poland had it during Halle tournament and that's why we were in a final there :drink:

  • Apart from 1st and 5th set I am really happy with our team's performance. Kozuch was really wonderful, Ssuschke blocked like never before and our 18 year old libero Lenka Dürr played incredibly well too  In fact I believe she is better than China's libero who I don't like at all...

I think, Germany NT could take 3rd set. if this team take to 3rd set, Germany could win this match with 3-1 scores

  • CUBA!! :D what a thriller
girls be aware that your fans can die from heart attack
Silva is awsome louder she scream better outcome it will be :D hehe it was funny when she once didn't scream while serving and that ball fly 5 m out :D
eh again Kenia is rubish and Calderon is playing well ;/ if they can play well together they will be deadly dangerous

poor Boseti it looked really bad hope she will be fine

Yes I agree with that too...we just took too many "time-outs" on the court and China made use of that.

Italy lost 2-3 in a close match vs Cuba. Cuba had 9 (!!!) block points in first set, but then as usual they played very bad in reception and Italy improved. Lucia Bosetti injured her ankle in the end of 5th set, it looked very bad :( Poor Lucia ;(:flower:

  • I guess the problem in Poland team is the fact its coaches has been so lame, the players dont like training and they do not ever believe in themselves.
There are a great deal of embarrassing, awfull, dreadfull defeats of the Polish team. And Glinka (she behaves like a superstar sometimes) and Skrowronska seem to be satisfied with European tittles.
A bunch of good (not excellent) players. Nothing more.
Poor Poland with their dump coaches...

  • What a terrible performance of Germany  It looked like Guidetti wanted us to lose!! Thomsen is so bad as libero, Ross can't kill any ball and we just don't have any good middles apart from Ssuschke and Fürst :sos:
Belcik has made great progress technically and tactically, for me she is clearly the best setter in Poland now!

Oh, and during the match they showed Dutch players in the audience and Debby Stam has a broken hand ?(

  • The most points for the team has won Jagieło Alexander (15), Agnieszka Bednarek (12) and Joanna Kaczor (9). On the other side has won the most meshes Maren Brinken (9), Sabrina Ross (6), Corina Ssuschke (5).
