ı don't know why but ı have an interest for left-handed volleyball players.It has always been a pleasure to watch those players mentioned above.My favourite ones are Neslihan Darnel and Nancy Metcalf.
The way Neslihan jumps and how strongly she spikes the ball impresses me every time she hits the ball.Especially her jump serves impresses me a lot and ı haven't watched any other left-handed hitters who jump serves as strongly as her.

Nancy Metcalf is another very good left-handed player.She has a very strong arm and she uses it very well.
Another left-handed player who got my attention is Sarah Pavan.I am sure she is going to be among the best hitter in a few years.I also remember from the days she played for Beşiktaş that Noriega is a very hood hitter .

Alisheva is the Opp player from Russian club Dinamo-Yantar,Lia Castro is the Opp player from Brazilian club Finasa/Osasco,just add one more player to this list,the new name of USA NT,and now play in Turkish club Besiktas-Heather Hughes!

As Jo11 said De Carne is certainly among the bests.
Elles Leferink was also a very good spiker,also she was a very good jump server.She was the best server of the 1998 WCH and 2003 ECH.
I don't believe Hughes is a good attacker.She is strong but she does not use her strength well.Maybe she changes my opinion today when she is playing against Fenerbahçe Acıbadem.

Elles was a good spiker and server,really hard serve, she made many points for her clubs and NT.
For now the Netherlands has Maret Grothues,a left handed spiker in Dela Martinus.

As a lefty attacking in the centre is tougher, because you have to let the ball pass your body before you can hit the ball. It's also a different set, so it makes things more complicated for the setter. Playing on the right side however, being left handed is an advatage, because you don't have to let the ball pass your body. Plus you know that your body should make a 90 degree angle with the net right? So if you're right handed and playing on the right side the front of your body is facing away from the court and you must see the set coming over your shoulder. Now there's ways around this, I mean there are a tond of good right handed diagonal players, but it is tougher.
Also in the middle if you need to letthe ball pass your body it makes the combination slower... unless of course you attack on a set behind the setter. That's what I know about it anyway.
PS: I'd be interested to see this left handed 204cm tall girl play as well, videos anyone?
