TVC Amstelveen

  • How many times will they train in Almere? On volleybalkrant they wrote every day,but I think that's impossible because of school and work of the girls.

@ Chipp: who gives you all the information?? Like it! Thank you!

  • @ Marieke

There is a video on the website of Studio Sport about today's start in Almere. I counted 15 girls.

    @ Chipp

I also would like to know who gives you al the information hehe ;)

  • The 12 people on the picture:

From TVCA: Robin de Kruijf (MB), Judith Pietersen (MB), Myrthe Schoot (Libero), Anne Buijs (OH), Reni Ankone (Libero), Laura Dijkema (Setter) and Quinta Steenbergen (MB)
From Sliedrecht: Simone Legerstee (Libero) and Flore Gravesteijn (OH)
From Cofely Nesselande: Elena Neve (Setter)
From Dros Alterno: Judith Blaansjaar (Setter) and Nicole Koolhaas (MB)

3 people were late: Lonneke Sloetjes (OH/OPP) and Janine Stoeten (MB) from Pollux and Kirsten Knip (Libero) from HAN. Several girls got exams, Maret Grothues (OH), Nikki Hoevenaars (Setter) and Floortje Meijners (OH/OPP) will also come and train.

When there are enough players available on each day, they will train each day. It is not that they train each day with the same group. They think in the end there will be three mornings with training. But this isn't for sure, will be certain very soon i guess.

About my information, I find a lot of the information on the internet. And sometimes my girlfriend tells me some about it ;)

You are right about Sharon Zuidema, but she is injured right now. Deborah van Daelen wil not participate (at least the first months), she is invited but have to do a course for her skool. On a personal note: maybe Kim Stealens wil join, since she don't have a club at the moment.

  • Guys....can you tell me a bit about Judith Pietersen? For a while I heard she is going to be a great dutch player...but she suffered a big injury right? How is she doing?

  • @ Joana

I think Marieke can tell you a lot more about Judith - she knows all the TVCA-players personally - , but I'll give it a try..

Judith Pietersen, 3/7/1989, is a 20 years-old (1.87m) middle-blocker. Her origin is in the eastern part of the Netherlands, like so many other topplayers in past en present, like Elles Leferink, Caroline Wensink (she and Judith are cousines!), Maret Grothues, Lonneke Sloetjes, Floortje Meijners etc. When she was 17, Avital invited her for the first time for NT-training.

When she transferred to Dela/Martinus in summer 2008, she was seen as (one of the) biggest talents in Dutch women's volleyball.

Judith missed the entire last season - her first season in Amstelveen, due to a very serious knee-injury. She made her come-back against DROS/Alterno in Super Cup, last month.

  • I can tell you a bit more :) The general information Flyingdutchman was giving on her origin etc are all correct.

Judith her cruciate ligament was torned in march 2008. In April 2008 she got surgery and afterwards a long revalidation was prescribed by Peter Vergouwen, the sport arts of the national team. Not only her cruciate ligament was torned, her cartilage was also damaged. In her revalidation she still keeps troubles with her knee. She trained, but not completely and sometimes with pain. In May 2009 she had a small surgery again and after this surgery she is working very hard to come back on her old level. She trained all summer to make her thigh muscle very strong. This is important for moderate the force on her knee when jumping.

In the supercup against Alterno she made her debut after 18 months without a match and she is now training (with TVC Amstelveen and the winter training of the national team) hard to get back on her level. She is doing everything she can, but time will tell if she can ever fully come back on her old top level.

Joana, if you have more questions about Judith, just ask. I think I can answer all of them :)

  • Thank you guys! :flower:

Yeah..I hope she can recover 100%..so I can see her playing in National Team..would be nice to see her playing..unfortunetly I never had the chance...

    Thanks again!

  • No problem!

Recover 100% isn't possible because of her cartilage damage. And I also hope to see her play at her old level. I never had the chance either.. Just the stories from before her injury

If you have more questions or want an update, just ask!

  • Thank you guys! :flower:
