what is going on with Holland????? Missing of Horstink cant do such damage to loose to Portugal and Macedonia, one false step ok, but this is too much...Something deeper is problem there, i would like to know why....
Someone mentioned Slovenia beating Spain as surprise??? Kidding or what? Slovenia is simply ATM much stronger than Spain, it is weird they lost that already won 2nd set, Spain isnt on their level, not in club or NT competitions. About Italy, they touched bottom, think this country wasnt weaker ever, seems wrong politics in domestic championship about foreign players is slowly coming on payment...

I do not agree about the wrong politics in the championship. The stronger the league gets, the better are the domestic players. The problem is the comparatively low interest in volleyball in Italy (in Brazil volleyball is number 2, in Italy far behind that number) and MAY BE the selection process of the players. Italy has great young outside hitters, but I don't know young opposite or MB in A1?
Another possibility is that now everbody has the know-how of Italy and they lost their tactical bonus which made them great? -
raoul. spanish n.t. is not as good as slovenia???.spain has absences.i think that slovenia it isnt good team.Spain it is one of the best teams in the europe.i remember slovnia (euro 2009) and all the teams beat him very easily.

I would not say that there is low interest in volleyball in Italy but for sure it was higher some years ago.

was, not is - was! past tense. Spain is dead. Key player falasca is ruined with playing in japan then injury and whole season lost in Piacenza cause of injury. He was there this weekend but only warming the bench. Second player Rodriguez had dizaster season with Patras so this is best what Spain can offer. Slovenia is now team with club on F4 in champions league + winner of regional league - that Spain wont have for many many years + urnaut playing in Piacenza. It is simple clear fact that ATM Slovenia is over Spain in every single aspect of volley game. New volley order, time has changed

Volley in italy is always on same position, and italy wasnt so poor never, so you must seek answers somewhere else. There is no world class italian player atm on key positions (setter, opposite or even OH, they are simply too weak to play top volley, and IMO this is only circumstance of league politics, they must and will change something soon. just matter of time, if they have any brain left in federation
