World Grand Prix 2010

  • what embarrassed German girls is their reception. GER always suffer from bad reception which leads no middle hits, no quick attacks, only kozuch's from-front-to-back attacks and OHs' 1vs3 attacks. Beier is an essential receiving player in the team but she's obviously good at receiving. weak attack is not really her most serious shortage.

That's why i said contrary with other strong teams. I don't say that Germany's performance it was good and i am trying to find a reason to hope because i really like this team. I am sure that they have a lot to fix in the near future

  • OMG!
Italy-Japan was an amazing match! Japan is simply outstanding they digged Gioli so bad  the best match of WGP 2010 without a doubt!! too bad Japan lost 1-3 :white: but they showed great game both Italy and Japan :super:

Poland won 3-0 . we quite struggle in 1st and 2nd sets but we totally dominated in 3rd set. Skowronska played very well finally she diidn't start this match in starting six but she played in 3rd set and she was on fire very strong attacks

Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to
stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs
you, that takes a lot of courage.

  • First time i watched Japan with yellow uniform, nice one  Japan should use yellow much more :D

Anyone know of a link that has the Japan-Italy match??

  • ITALY 2 : 3 DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
    GERMANY 1 : 3 THAILAND

    :S
Well, Italy is already on the Final 6, and Germany failed...but the games were a bit disappointing, Especially Germany.

  • Poland looks overwhelmed right now, lots of Brazilian points by just tipping the ball over... :|

  • pathetic as always against Brazil nothing new :wavy: we just too afraid of them and far too incosistent to beat them. second set was fine however i do think it was Brazil "fault" cus they made so many mistakes specially Thaisa. and as Gael Alexei Phillipe said we lost so many balls from tips, and sadly its not the first time. we are well prepared for strong attack but those tips just rips our defense apart :what:

anyways 7-2 win loose ratio is the best we have ever got so looking forward to Final six. i think Brazil is out of our reach but other teams are not . i hope we will win one or 2 matches in F6. China seems to be the weakest right now but we will see in on week time. go girls :super: :super:

  • I guess the Polish NT has many good players... :) Today Zaroslinka was always shouting encouragement to the others. I guess what they need more is consistency, both on reception and offense. If they work on that then they can be a contender :)

By the way, it's funny that the FIVB live score doesn't match the livestream :)

  • Good job to the US team by taking the 1st Set, Glass is utilizing Bown and Akinradewo well making the US offense balanced. I see some Chinese fans dressed with Uncle Sam stripes and carrying the Statue of Liberty. I know that they are in Hong Kong but it kinda uncomfortable watching them in their attire.

  • Well, Germany seems like they're really going down the hill right now, in a very bizarre way... They seemed so consistent last year... It's a shame... If they had not taken advantage of the US in the first round, they would have only beaten Taiwan... Even Dominican Republic's backups got a better result out of the GP... That's pretty sad...

I think the team is very unstable. The focus of their offense is really Kozuch. Their middle hitters should step up to provide variability to their offense. They need to work on their reception as well. I miss those old German players like Dumler, Thum, etc

  • The US clinched the 2nd set 25-10. China really looks awful at this point. I can't watch any further. It doesn't seem right that China can be beaten that way without a fight and in their home turf. (And here I am missing again those old great Chinese Team that was always a contender in the past years).

The US looks like a top team right now. I notice some changes in the way the US blocks, they block like a men's NT. And you can see that they always put up a good block using that scheme with the a two or three man block all with the same timing.

  • I just saw Lang Ping in the stands in the VIP section. I wonder what she thinks of the current US team and this new Chinese team. Would she think: "If I coach either team, would they be in the same predicament as they are right now?" (Just wondering  )

  • I have question- China play now with best Players? In one moment I thought that I am watching Chinese Taipei in action.

I guess the new coach has to go... ;)

  • China is coming alive, I mean Wang is... :)

  • Wang is unstopabble :super: Go Wang Go China  I miss Hui :S
