Olympic Games - London 2012 Women (qualification process)

  • I don't like Gamova's words either...line judges obviously tried many times to help Turkish team today, but first referee made a good game and overruled them very often, and I think correctly in all cases. The only bad decision was late in 1st set, but Russia won it despite the decision, and referees certainly aren't responsible for Gamova attacking 24%

Perfect post by Matthias :obey: . I have nothing to add.

  • This question of line referees it's a big problem in international tournaments.
Gamova knows it and she uses this excuse today ...

Exactly. I really dont understand this whole hype of discussion on this tournament ! I know many fans are sad that their teams didnt win but its not Turkeys or the federations fault ! And this accusation of Gamova is really inappropriate ! But nevertheless I wish her good luck in Japan.

  • I counted on my own statistics for teams in European Qualifications only for semifinalists and I've got interesting results

    well said!

oh I also want to remind Gamova that in last ECh they had a day off, we had to play playoff and there was the same result again.

    great stats Kondzio! thanks :flower:

  • Reception in percentage:
    1. Poland 56 Exc./76 Pos. (196/267 all 352)
    2. Turkey 53 Exc./76 Pos. (129/185 all 244)
    3. Russia 55 Exc./75 Pos. (175/239 all 320)
    4. Germany 46 Exc./70 Pos. (115/177 all 252)

And it supposed to be our weakest point :D

    Great job, kondzio :win:

  • I do think Borisenko has a point, though, to some extent at least. But CEV is more to blame there - it's just absurd to play 5 games over the maximum of 6 days, especially in the very end of the season. In such a situation every day off is really precious, but as a professional, you have to cope with that...

  • Bella, you will be in schock how many balls received Werbnlińska 8)

  • I'm from Japan.

    I have one question.

The members of Japanese NT for both the Olympic and the Olympic Qualification tournaments have not been determined yet.
I hear that players for the Olympic can't be changed freely from the members for the Olympic Qualification tournaments.

Is this true ? If so, could someone give me the detailed rule that restricts players change between the Olympic Qualification tournaments and the Olympic ?

  • Bella, you will be in schock how many balls received Werbnlińska 8)

Rather I won't be. Watching all matches I expected some enormous number or received balls. But I'm waiting for your calculation, ofc 8)

  • Thanks for the stats, Kondzio! Hats off to your hardwork :)

Thanks :D I couldn't count only setters and diggers. These categories wasn't counted in stats on cev website. Setters category is really hard to count properly.

  • almost came home now and i am completely exhausted. There was really hard work in first two sets for both teams. But our girls, as expected, found their ways and got the result. I love all of them. They didn't get me wrong. We believe in you girls so much , keep going like this.

Gamova, i have big respect for your play. Nothing can change this fact. But I just wanna say three words to you. "play your game!"

  • I'll play both arguments...of course Gamova exagerated...

but guys, she probable said in the heat of the game, frustrated of the match...and she also know more whats going on in behind scenes...

so, dont need to be so hard on them.

Anyway...congrats Turkey, I dont think referee was determinated today...though I do think 2-0 would be a different history, and of course the no resting days (but like you guys wrote, that is FIVB and CEV to blame)

Well...good luck both teams tomorrow. ;)
