maybe you're right, only one ticket for the best team in each area
But if the team I supported didn't take it, I would also say something like that
It's normal emotion IMO, just take it easy
I think the european teams like Germany, Serbia and Poland is better overall, but they are very fragile to the playing style of the asian teams like THA and Korea, when they dont play at their best. You know what to get from the asians, their gameplan is pretty much to destroy the europeans game (make them play worse), very good in the technical aspects, and when the europeans have a off day in for ex. reception, the chances they lose is pretty big, at least the teams that dont have any Gamova-Goncharova-Estes in attack.

OK I didn't remember, and I checked the stats of the game and we played it with a lot of substitutions. Either way WGP is not so important, many teams use it rather as preparation for big tournaments...And in Germany's defense, last year we won against Italy in ECH and against USA in World Cup and both matches even 3:0...so just because European teams lose every once in a while against a team that is theoretically worse it's dangerous to draw conclusions.
I think when people claim that Europe deserves more spots they refer to the high density of good teams in Europe. In South America there is only Brazil, if they had qualified via WC, a weak team from South American would have been in OG. In NORCECA there is USA and DOM, Cuba's level has dropped a lot and also Puerto Rico's level is most likely close to 5th-8th ranked teams in Europe. In Asia, China and Japan are constantly strong, Korea and Thailand are up and down. Thailand's problem is that they have only 6 high level players (plus 2 liberos), but there is nothing behind that. Remember that Serbia is missing 3 important attackers, just imagine Thai team without Onuma, Wilavan and Malika! In Europe there are at least 5-6 teams on very good level, all of them would be higher in world ranking if they played in a different continent, but even when 5th best team from Europe is much better than 2nd best team from South America, in world ranking they can still be behind them...
there was a Thai setter who played for Yeşilyurt.
Her name is Khan-An Narumol, She is now retired from Thai NT. Thailand always has a good new generation of setter. The new substitute is also talented...(Pornpun Guedpard). She is still young but her ability is very closed to Tomkom, just need more time to gain experience
i think realiable source is world championships, comparing to Olympics both gave highest point and orginizin each 4 years
24 teams participate for WC while 12 for Olympic,
however some teams qualifiyng more easily for Olympics which they get last places in WC

Oh god. Let's not turn this into a Europe vs. Asia battle. We're talking about the 2012 Olympics. In that context, which European teams deserve to go and why? It's a very simple question.
6 european teams in top 10 at WCH not bad

Maybe Fivb should lessen the number of South America's and North America's quotas
Asia and Europe deserve more..

i think my ex post quite open to understand what we talking about

... or widen number of participants in OG from 12 to 16. Could be 2 pools with 8 teams or 4 with 4 teams.

FIVB doesn't have that authority. The IOC dictates 12 players and 12 teams.

I think the question is not which european teams but how many european teams. Anyway OG is a special tournamet where there are not all the most powerful countries in a particular sport. But that is not only happens in volleyball, in general in all team sports.
I can't understand. The world ranking isn't a realiable source? But it's only because the ranking that Serbia is playing this WQT.
The ranking and this strange formula were the criteria chosen by FIVB a long time ago and it had been approved by the confederations, included CEV. So it's too little too late for crying.

i already agreed with that.

i mixed the authorities with each other..

If Serbia, Japan, and Russia do what they're supposed to then 9 out of the top 11 teams in the world are in the OG. Germany, while a good program, wasn't going to be a medal contender IMO. I'd call that a pretty good job of getting the most powerful countries in the sport in the tournament
