2013 European Championship - Germany and Switzerland

  • I mean Italy is in such easy group that as Matthias told above they could win the group even with Italian junior NT

ok sorry...it seems that my connections today aren't working so well! :wall:
anyway you're right...Italy's and Russia's pools are way too easy!

  • This time Poland didn't have a good luck in drawing. At the beginning I was scared to group D and I found the group very tough for Poland. Now I'm more relaxed. All the team are on equal level but at least there is no TUR, GER, RUS or ITA. After London 2012 it's hard to believe that Serbia is so strong...

Bulgaria and Czech Republic once again in the same group  The both team know each other very well after so many tournemants in last years...

Anyway, in 2013 the most important thing for Poland is to qualify to 2014 World Championships.I'm not interested in good result in EC, although I hope we will win a medal :P If we play like in Ankara qualifications gruop D wouldn't be a fear for Poland. The true is it's enough that Werblińska will not play and once again we are an average, vulnerable team as it was in Grand Prix 2012. So let's wait for Werblińska decision

  • Once again no lucky draw for the Orange-girls

Germany and Turkey...will be very hard. Besides that, I have more confidence in current roster and staff than during Selinger-era.

Well it could have been worse (if they'd ended up in Pool D ;) ). Netherlands should finish 3rd in the pool even if they lose against Germany and Turkey, so they'd be in the playoffs before quarterfinals, and I don't know which teams from which pools meet there, but if they meet a 2nd ranked team from Pool B or C, they should make it to quarterfinal :win:

What is the system after pool-stage ???

  • Same as 2011. Pool winners are directly in quarterfinals, 2nd and 3rd ranked play a playoff match against a 2nd/3rd ranked from another pool to qualify for quarterfinal.

Thanks :win: Is it already known which pools will meet each other?

  • Thanks  I guess that apart from Italy and Russia, only teams from A and D will make it to QF. Of course it depends on who will eventually play for Azerbaijan and Croatia, but concerning Pool B, I don't think Belgium and Ukraine/France will have a chance against teams from Pool D.

  • Yes, Pool A vs. Pool C Pool B vs. Pool D

    it's written here :)

    Thanks :flower:

It's good for the tournament Pool A and D will not meet each other after Pool-fase

  • Eventually poland is in a fair situation, but now italy has really easy opponents.Group A comes to me really weird,i cant predict who can be the first.Germany has almost everytime advantage against turkey but it doesnt work against netherlands 8|.And i wonder what turkey can do after OG.But on the otherhand i really think that the team who finishes the group A as first, will reach the final :drink:

  • The only times I remember were in ECH 2003 and OG qualifier 2004...but Russia without Gamova will be a different team (though certainly still a very good one).

And if i understand correctly, when germany finishes its group as 2nd or 3rd,it faces with russia in QF :gone: Is it certain that gamova and sokolova wont play in russia moreover?
