Polish NT 2011

  • (but, for example, Winiarski really needed resty)

I have an impression that for a long time Winiarski still needs rest just like his friend from the heart, Mariusz Wlazły. Smells like another excuse. Since he joined Skra, he plays without fireworks. Something blocks him. Shame. I hope he will wake up one day, get his ass for aggregation in Spała and will be proud of being representative of the country.

  • What kind of inconprehensible decisions do you mean? The only weird decision to me is lack of Kadziewicz. Everything else seems to be fine...at least to me.

Yep, Kadziewicz is the most annoying lack

    But also:
Woicki instead of Drzyzga or even Łomacz. It is so irritating for me. Drzyzga is without question the most gifted young setter. He may be one day worthy successor of Zagumny. But how he can develop and believe in himself when he doesn't get the chance to show what he can. This is no excuse when Anastasi claim that he need more experienced players. So when Drzyzga get his chance? When he shall have thirty years? He is more valuable than Woicki for sure and even Żygadło!

Bąkiewicz in squad - the biggest mistake I think.

Not a chance for Marcel Gromadowski.

Kłos instead of Wiśniewski (Wiśniewski were playing the whole season in starting six, while Kłos were sitting on bench)

  • This is so obvious that Winiarski isn't the same player anymore since he plays in Poland. When he played in Italy, he was simply one of the best on his position, now he's the shadow of himself from Trento. I'm in different if it comes to Winiarski, I'm not a big fan of him. Of course I respect him as a player, 'cause he's really good, he was on a very top couple of years ago, but I've never really cared about him that much...I mean...we have pretty good reception even without such a professor like him. I find this situation with attack a lot more difficult. Right now Bartek Kurek is our main force in attack, there were some matches, when Żygadło almost killed him with enormous amount of balls, sometimes he was alone in attack, no help from the others. Wlazły...well...I've never liked him as a person, but I have to admit he's a great opposite, when he's in his very best, I could even say he's one of the best opposites in the world. He could be a huge help in attack in general, not only for Kurek. So that's basically why I kinda miss him in the team. But don't get me wrong, as I said in one of my previous posts- he's not irreplaceble, we showed that we're not so bad without him.

  • I'm sure just working with such an amazing guy like Andrea gives Fabian a lot. Anyway, I'm sure he knows what to do, he'll give Fabian some chances, for sure.
About Gromadowski...well...honestly I'm not a big fan of Marcel. I dunno...this guy just didn't convince me with his game.
I'm not worried about Kłos at all, Patryk Czarnowski was called for NT and I'm sure he will kick Karol out.

  • Can you imagine our NT with Kurek and Winiarski in his best form? Winiarski could be not only a big support in attack but they together with Kurek could play equally. Gosh. I wanted Winiarski so badly to be back in team. I was horrified when I found out about Winiarski coming back to Poland and playing in Skra. My fears were confirmed. I dream about kicking of Winiarski to Italy back. To be the same as he was in Trento.

Soon Kurek will have a big support. Bartman will be better and better. He is a fighter. Incredibly ambitious player. For him playing in NT is the biggest honor. He will do his best. I know he will. That's why I value him so much.

Czarnowski is the best news. Fingers crossed :win:
And I hope Fabian will kick Woicki off.

  • Yes, when Zibi will be fully recovered after this injury and if he'll keep working hard, he's gonna be really, really helpful for our team.
I won't forget this match against Bulgaria in Ergo Arena during this year's World League, not only beacuse it was very dramatic, but becasue Zibi showed in 4th set and tiebreak (before he got injured) how good he can play...actually I still think he can play better, but that was one of his very best in this year's World League, and that gave me a lot of hope. I've always felt like attack is a perfect thing for Zibi, so since Andrea moved him from reception to attack I'm really happy about that, I've always supported this move.

  • Can you imagine our NT with Kurek and Winiarski in his best form?

Can you imagine our NT with Kurek and Mika? That would be a blast. Mateusz is amazingly talented player, with Kurek they would be the tallest pair of recievers in the world. They would complement themselves perfectly- Kurek insane skills in attack, Mika- insane skills in reception and defense. I can't wait to see that.

  • I will pray for big come back of Zibi's killing serve. Because I know, you know and a lot of people know what he can achieve in this element. I want forget about his serves on this year's WL :P
The end of fourth set and the beginning of tie-break in match against Bulgaria were EVERYTHING. I just looked like :what: and then :cheesy: Kuraś & Zibi insane performance.

Oh, yeah. I couldn't stop smiling when I saw Mika on the squad again :D He will kick Bąkiewicz off the team. For sure

  • Zibi used to serve quite well. I remember some of his killing serves when he played in Częstochowa. Also during World League 2009 he had a great series of serves against Venezuela, he killed them with it. Yeah I know, Venezuelan recievers aren't the best in the world, but still those serves would be difficult to recieve for a lot of players. Anyway, I'm looking forward to see Zibi on the court again, good luck our fighter.

    fully agree :drink:

I don't know from what SKRA players can be tired :what: every season they have walkover in Poland, no results in Europe etc. and it's really mystery what can cause their fatigue. Kurek plays in SKRA also but he is NT. So fatigue is just excuse for something.. opposite example is Bulgaria

They are tired of being stars. Tired of arguing with judges. Life of Skra's players is pretty tiring. Not for Kurek obviously. I worry about him a little bit. I hope that behaviour of couple W&W doesn't affect Kurek.

Zibi in Częstochowa was the best. It's a fantastic combination - him and Fabian

  • fully agree :drink:

Yeah, exactly. They have a lot, lot easier way for some titles in Poland, hopefully this year it will change, 'cause Jastrzębski made some cool transfers :D Anyway...it's not like Wlazły and Winiarski have harder season than other players from our team, there are lots of players in our team, who also had some difficulties throughout the season, but they want to play in the team anyway. Sebastian Świderski is the best example I can think of...he's after some really tough injuries, but he wants to fight for his place in the squad.
Of course, it is obvious that all this stuff with tiredness and injuries is just another excuse. As I said in one of my previous post- they should come up with something better, 'cause this excuse is getting old and boring.
One more thing about Winiarski: since he plays in Poland his level dropped a lot, and I wouldn't say that's because of injuries he went through. The level of Serie A and PlusLiga is totally different. Here in Poland Skra has a guaranteed titles almost every year, the competition is lower, also teams aren't as good as in Serie A...so he's not improving anymore, he's still in the same place, or even lower...

  • opposite example is Bulgaria

And that's one of the reasons why I love and respect this team so much. I wish some of our players were like them.

And heart-breaking I would like to add. I really liked Wlazły. I still remember how incredible he was in fantastic 2006 year. And I know deep down he is a sympathetic and cool guy. About Winiarski: I always value him as a player and as a person. I still love him but I want him to wake up and stop being such a "star".

Another problem with Skra is: couch. Nawrocki is totally useless. I'm pissed when I see him doing nothing when his team is getting whips

Sebastian Świderski is a balm on the wounds for such a fan I am. It help me thinking about our guys that they are rather cool guys. And Wlazły is only "accident at work".

SKRA will be champion again.. I'm quite sure

In last 4 years I'm following Italian league very close and believe me Lasko is average opposite :gone: Thornton is solid setter but Plus liga will be huge challenge for him after playing in League B  as main opponent to SKRA I see ZAKSA again

Regarding Winiarski fully agree. SKRA doesnt have serious opponent in Poland and their results in Europe suffer from that.

Shhhh...let me delude myself  Skra is always the main favourite for the titles in Poland, but anyway I hope both Jastrzębski and Zaksa will manage to make some suprises, not only because Jastrzębski is my favourite team, but also because I'm really getting tired of Skra as a champion in almost every tournament in Poland
I've heard such opinions about Michał Łasko a lot of times and I share them a little bit...He's considered as one of our best transfers mostly because he's opposite of Italian team and he played in their league, which is considered to be the best in the world...

  • And that's one of the reasons why I love and respect this team so much. I wish some of our players were like them.

    Thank you so much :drink:
