2011 Liga Nacional Cubana de Voleibol

  • I think there should be quite a great many volleyball fans of Cuban NT, and this might be a great chance to collect more info about Cuba players during winter training session. :rolll:


    2011 VII Cuba Liga Nacional de Voleibol will be held from 30th of Jan. to 5th of Mar., with 3 phases of preliminary rounds and the final round. :woohoo:


    All Cuba NT and young talented players devided into 3 women teams will participate in this tournament, which are known as Capitalinas, Centrales and Orientales. Venezuela women NT is also invited to attend this edition of National League, but the Cuba sport game Organisation Committee has not received any confirmation from them yet.

    There is no websites for Cuba Liga, thats why it always takes time to pick out useful information from piles of pieces of news from over 5 cuba sports websites...


    I prefer womens volleyball to the mens, so i am going to pay much more private time to ladies sports.

    2009 -> Capitalinas; Capitalinas beat Serranos and in the last final match (25-20, 25-21, 25-18 ) Kenia Carcaces was the best scorer with 20 points (15 attack; 3 block; 2 service) - 60,32% eff. Nancy Carrillo led ranking most effective player of the preliminary round with 197 points (125 attacks, 35 blocks and 37 services), 61.33%


    2008 -> Havana; The Havana City team edged Camaguey in a close match 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-22) winning the first place in the Women’s National Championship. In the match for the bronze medal, Villa Clara defeated Pinar del Rio by score of 25-15, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-17. In the rest of the standing placed the teams of Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos and Havana. Awarded players: MVP: Yumillka Ruiz (Camagüey). Reception: Yumillka Ruiz (Camagüey). Blocking: Rachel Sanchez (Pinar del Río). Defence: Liana Mesa (Camagüey). Setting: Yusidey Silié (Havana City). Serve: Daimi Ramirez (Camagüey). Attack: Yusleidys Herrera (Havana City)


    2007 -> Constructors; Led by Yumilka Ruiz and Yenisey Gonzalez with the accurate settings of Yanelis Santos, Constructors defeated Farmers 25-23, 25-23, 27-25. The bronze medal was taken by Selection with a victory over Dominican Republic 3-1 (17-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-22). Yumilka Ruiz was the Most Valuable Player and best receiver of the women’s division. Nancy Carrillo was the top scorer and Rosir Calderon the best attacker. The All-Star was completed by Yenisey Gonzalez (blocker), Yanelis Santos (server), Suramis Acosta (setter), Kenia Carcaces (defense) and Lisbet Arredondo (libero).


    2006 -> Havana; Havana City won the title with a perfect record, followed by Cienfuegos and Villa Clara. Lisbet Arredondo was the MVP and Yusleidys Herrera the top scorer. Yusidey Silie was the best in attacks and blocks; Arrendondo in receptions; Yanelis Santos, defense; Ojeidis Rojas, serves and Liana Mesa in settings.


    2005 -> Havana; Havana is the champion of the Women’s Cuban League after sweeping Camaguey in the best-of-five final series. Havana’s Nancy Carrillo, star member of the National Team, was elected as the Most Valuable Player of the playoff while also being the best blocker and the best server of the event. The third match went into five sets with Havana prevailing by score of 25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 22-25 and 15-3. The girls from the capital won the first two matches by 3-1 and 3-0. The power of Carrillo serves and kills and the spikes from the corners by Rosir Calderon were keys for the victory along with the job by setter Anniara Munoz and Maibelis Martinez. Calderon (HAV) was the best attacker, Maisbelis Martinez (HAV) the best receiver, Liana Mesa (CAM) the best defense and Lisbet Arredondo (CAM) the best libero.
