    Well, Jastrzębski is one very average team atm, so I would not write Paykan off completely.

    One Guy from Spartans (Verhoef) took part at the Universiade and 3 guys (Van Berkel, Kufske, Schmid) took part at the Junior Wold Championchips.

    Paykan is completely a different team this year. they had serious financial problems this summer, and all of their main players are signed with other clubs. If you want names I would say Hosseini, Bazargard, Mousavi, Shaban, Keshavarzi and even our NT captain Alireza Nadi (they signed with him this summer but released him after few days)


    this is the initial list they sent to FIVB. they were hoped to loan some of these players but that was a false hope ! Iranian league will start in 2 weeks and other clubs didn't release their players. Paykan could be much much better team with Mousavi, Kamalvand and Mahdavi.


    this is Paykan's roster: (they have two average imports from France and Lebanon !!! 8o )


    Setter: Parviz Pezeshki, Taher Vadi
    Opposite: Mohsen Andalib, Ahmad Babaei
    MB: Hesam Bakhsheshi, Vali Nourmohammadi, Davoud Moghbeli
    OH: John Abi Chedid, Philippe Barca-Cysique, Rahman Davoudi, Alireza Mobasheri
    Libero: Ali Hossein


    and to make things even worse, Paykan's main setter (Pezeshki) will miss the tournament due to VISA issue :wall: he will miss the first match for sure, and probably the whole tournament ! God bless Paykan with Taher Vadi as main setter ! :sos:

    from what I know, NO ! they didn't play any friendlies because they didn't know their roster ! they trained 2 or 3 weeks.


    actually Paykan Club (and their sponsor Iran-Khodro Co) announced its dissolvement on 4 September. (Link) but after a little negotiation, they decided to keep the team but with a limited budget on 14 September. after that they had only 3 weeks to regroup and sign some new players. They were hoped to loan some players for this tournament but they got no help.

    This team is completly new to the team, which took part at the AVC Club Championchips in July. Is there any player in the roster with NT-Experiences?

    Yes but even that team in AVC Championship was not the real Paykan. but still the core of the team was there.


    Yes, some of them are experienced players. Mohsen Andalib was our NT reserve Opposite for years. (not because he is any good) Hesam Bakhsheshi was in our 14 men roster for World Champs in Italy. (his first and last experience with NT) I remember Davoud Moghbeli also played 1 match in 2006 Asian Games for Iran NT ! :D Hossein (Libero), Nourmohammadi and Babaei have experiences with Iran B team.but mostly as reserve players.

    Unfortunately I don't think so. 3-0 for Lorenzo Bernardi and his team. but I hope I'm wrong, Paykan has a smart coach, Maybe he does something special.

    mikhailov playing as open hitter in the last set..its wierd seeing him score on a open and pipe sets..and first time i saw him serving and scoring with a float serve!!love him!! :heart:
