Italian League 2011/2012

  • Italian League will start 9 october, just after European Championship.

Its scheduled in the calendar a break time for the World Cup, between 31 october and 19 november. (or for the European Olympic qualification - 1 to 6 may, or yet the World Olympic quali from 19 to 27 may - depending if Italy will have to play or not)

    Supercoppa -
    23/11/2011 - Norda Foppapedretti Bergamo x MC-Carnaghi Villa Cortese

    Coppa Italia -
Final Four will happen 28 and 29/01/2012

(Its not known yet if it will participate the best 6 teams in the Italian league qualification or the best 8, it will depend if some club will want to host the Final Four or not. If so, it will be the best 6, if not, and the Final Four be played in a neutral gym, then the best 8 will be qualified - the games no matter what will be played in just one match in the home of those teams that are better quali in Italian league)

    Formula - Italian League 11/12:

They will change a little bit the playoffs formula. They will come back making the best 8 team qualifying directly to quarter finals (last seasons the best 6 teams quali to quarters and the teams between 7 to 10º position used to play between them to decide witch two teams qualified to quarters as well)

Another change is the number of games in semifinal. This season The semifinal will be decided in best of 3 games, like the quarters. Just the final will be decided in best of 5 games.

  • I'll put the teams for next season so far:
