World Athletics

  • Alyson Felix :rose:(the most inspiring athlete in the world for me), she won at least one medal on every WCH since 2005 (Moscow 2013 is the only exception due to injury). So nice to see her for one more time on the track.

She's running in the preliminary 4x400 tonight.

I don't think we'll see her in the final... but I hope we see Sydney (I want Athing Mu too... but the 800m final is that day too ;()

  • What a first semifinal in W100mH. Shocking world record for Amusan. Such an inspiring moment, she looked like she tought it is clock bug. It would be a shame but i wouldn't be surprise that her not be capable of to repeat good race in the final, but at least bronze medal would be well deserved "cosmical" fairness.

that was insane. I cant imagine breaking the world record and then still being expected to compete in 90 minutes

  • And Duplantis for the perfect end.

*McLaughlin with 47.91 in the relays :obey:

The height he reaches is crazy! and with that considerable amount of space still left you just know he's going to go even higher next time.

  • I thought noone is watching the World athletics

Mclaughlin is a beast! I wonder if ever she transitions to 400m if she would also break the WR. Her flat speed is insane.

The first difficult task would be to beat Miller-Uibo who has been winning the 400 flat easily at the recent major championships, she only lost in Doha 2019 to the now-questionable time from Salwa Eid Nasser.

Koch’s record has stood for almost 40 years and nobody has ever got near it. But McLaughlin is obviously a ridiculous talent who took 400mH to a completely different level, so it could be possible.

    I heard Miller-Uibo will start running a 200 again

  • Congrats to ex-volleyball player Adrianna Sułek who just won silver medal in heptathlon (European Championship), Definitely it was good decision to quit playing volleyball :D

And of course big congrats to Belgian Nafissatou Thiam who's amazing!

Nafi is so good! Great athlete:super:

  • Ivana Vuleta (née Španović) finally beat Mihambo. In consideration with hers 32yo and last few "failures" (on outdoor competitions) this is huge success. Hopefully she can repeat the same next year in Budapest to round off a great career with world gold :rose::box:

  • Both Sifan Hassan (10000 m) and Femke Bol (4 x 400 m mixed) fell in their races and lost gold medals like 10m before the finish line. Tough day for Dutch athletics, breaks my heart ;(

    ;(
