That was unbelievable that 2 athletes from the same country lost gold medals the same way the same day, just one by one…

From what I remember in 2021 in Tokyo there were no bad comments about a similar situation with Tambieri and Barshim in the high jump... Maybe because Tambieri is the most popular and liked athlete in all of athletics?
-
I think this was an amazing moment and all the people complaining in the comments don't know what sport is really about, totally agree with Katie on this one.

Nafi Thiam 3 times in a row Olympic Champion of heptathlon
True legend!

It was quite close, but she did enough to defend leadership after 800 meters
I'm happy that Kaczmarek got bronze in women's 400 m, that's a pity that Włodarczyk finished 4th in women's hammer throw, only 5 cm too short

sensational womens 400m final, Sydney is unreal

. Waiting for her to break one of the oldest WR.48.19 "just" for bronze is insane.
-
This run was great to watch, pity that it was rainy, in better conditions this record would have been broken, only 0.19 was missing to beat it...

I’m torn on the world record thing. I think it is cool to see old records stand because those athletes don’t have the benefit of modern training, dieting and even shoe and track technology that help current athletes break records all the time.
But the sad reality is that those records held by Koch, Griffith-Joiner and others are highly likely the result of doping so it’s best that they are broken.
Anyway, idc about the clock, Miller-Uibo is still my 400m queen.
