Serbia NT 2012

  • Terzic is not going to Bangkok either. He'll stay in Belgrade and work with Ognjenovic, Rasic, Krsmanovic, Brakocevic and Cebic.
So Serbia totally gave up on GP, but they may as well do it.

It is getting complicated that which players will play in Olympics for Serbia. Nikolic, Malagurski, Veljkovic, Molnar, Antonijevic have injuries. Which of them will play in Olympics?

  • I think that if all recovery from injuries, Terzic will take to London:
    S: Ognjenovic, Antonijevic
    OPP: Brakocevic, Starovic
    MB: Rasic, Krsmanovic, Veljkovic
    OH: Vesovic, Molnar, Malesevic, Nikolic
    L: Cebic

The only doubt I have is between Starovic and Bjelica but I trust Sanja will take the spot. No Malagurski because she's out of the fields for almost a year so I think she will have to take some time to find better shape and feels.

  • but how can Nikolic be ready for London if she'll probably skip all next year with Vakifbank? ?(

  • Nikolic won't play in OG, Terzic will take Mihajlovic instead of her

  • Djerisilo instead of Starovic. Hopefully.
Or Djerisilo instead of one of OHs. I wouldn't like that, she has to play as OPP.

I think it's getting less and less likely that Nikolic will play in London.

Yea, I also prefer Djerisilo instead of Starovic. But how much has she trained and has played during the preparation for London? Unfortunately not enough I trust.

And if Nikolic don't recovery for OG, I hope Terzic will take Mihajlovic and not Blagojevic.

I'm not sure if Jelena could be ready for London, why she took a one year break in Vakifbank? To focus on health. Mihajlovic should play instead of Nikolic, Blagojevic is worse than Brankica. And what is with second libero, Silvija Popovic?

  • What about Karlovy Vary? Do you need this EL?

PS Good luck in London

Радо Стойчев каза: Мизия, Тракия, Македония! Западните покрайнини - завинаги български!

  • It's official, Nikolic out of London.

Sad news :S Probably she will not play for NT anymore 'cause she will have a one year break in Vakıfbank too. She is already 31 years old, after one year break I am curious if she will want to play for NT.

Do you know anything about that Joana?

  • She hasn't said anything, but I also think that we won't see her on NT again. And it is OK, she really did give a lot, she's been there for more than 10 years, she played when Serbia couldn't qualify for major tournaments, she played when Serbia became the European champion. It's time for someone else to take over and to start building a team for Rio.

Yes, she has done a lot for NT and she always played with passion. She played for Serbia in ECH even though she didn't recover fully. She is a real captain.

  • after Nikolic, also Molnar...how about Velijkovic? Antonijevic and Malagurski???
Poor Serbia, and good luck to the girls anyway...

  • Yes you got it right.. he said that Veljkovic and Djerisilo might be back in time for the OG, and Malagurski but nothing certain

Even if Malagurski recovers in time, she didn't play volleyball for 8 months or so, and she doesn't have years of experience to make up for that, so I think it would not make sense to take her to London (and maybe risk another injury...).
She's still young, she can easily play in 2016 and even 2020, of course it will be hard for her to miss OG after her great performances last summer, but the future belongs to her!

  • It's such a badly written article  You can't really conclude anything from it except that Molnar is definitely out.

But it's getting more and more obvious that the team is already more or less set, time goes by and the injured players are just not coming back. I just hope Ivana Djerisilo will be there.
