This match really is advertising for Volleyball. It is so much fun to watch two teams with amazing defense and great setters

I see Davide Mazzanti as an assistant coach : does anybody know how many assistants are there and which are their tasks?
For example on Panathinaikos' basketball team Dimos Ikoudis works the defense. Does this specific role as an assistant exists in volleyball? Or which is their specific task?

OT: I know a bit about brazilian male NT. I think around 2004, when Bernardo's assistents were Ricardo Tabach and Chico dos Santos, that's how they divided things: Tabach would be on top of defense and reception; Chico was the coach specialist in block; and Bernardo would be responsible specially on serve, setting and attack. Since then, the staff changed a bit, Tabach left, they added Rubinho, I'm not sure if Chico is still there, so I don't know how it works now. But around the time when Brazil grabbed the golden medal in Athens, I think it was something like this. Don't know about other teams.

Japan is just fun to watch. From defense to offense, they are just unbelievable. Not too tall as a team but definitely can compete against the best teams in the world.
Italy's defense is superb. Croce is lucky because Costa, L. Bosetti and Del Core are stepping up in defense.. I can see Italy getting through to the semis.

Ebata and Saori abusing Lo Bianco's block. Lucia Bosetti has such an impressive armswing. I wish she was a couple of inches taller, she would be fantastic!

You could see after match point in Piccinini's face how happy she was to be on court, she was beaming
And this match was the final proof that Lucia must always be starter, Caterina will probably better than her in a few years but right now, she is not ready yet for that level. -

This match reminded of one of my most vivid memories from the Olympics. It was in Sydney, 2000, and on the first day of female volleyball, Italy and Korea clashed and had an outstanding match, just like this. And then it went to tiebreak, and it ended like 20 x 18, or something like that, in favor of Korea. So, I'm a bit sorry this one couldn't go to the 5th as well, but in the end, prevailed the stronger team. Italy showed a lot of character here. This match had high quality, pleasure to watch.
